  1. In-form Bolton striker Sturridge enjoying freedom of expression under Coyle
  2. Must be great for him playing under a manager that rates him that highly (he praised him before he was at the club). Keep on doing what you do Daniel. Well let's send the likes of Bruma and Clifford (maybe PVA too) there too .
  3. Haha Danny keeps proving he was treated unfairly. It'll be very interesting to see whether he gets a fair chance when he comes back. Very difficult goal by the way. He had to control it and shoot in like a second.
  4. Well I guess we disagree then. I would love to see us play 3-5-2 once as I think it solves our winger problem and our reliance on our fullbacks for width (without leaving too much space at the back). And like I said, Mikel isn't good enough defensively. And we have three great CB's too and more importantly, one who is excellent in building up from the back. @steve5221 Don't agree with the 3-5-2 being a 'smash and grab' tactic, you should be able to dominate a game (you're playing with five midfielders, five and half with Anelka's tendency to drop deep).
  5. Cole and Bos aren't defenders in my formation (that's why I put them in front of Mikel in the holding role). Think Dani Alves at Barcelona or Marcelo at Real, they spend more time on the opposition half than their own. This was Liverpool's formation: Reina Skrtel Kelly - Carragher - Agger - Johnson Lucas Maxi - Gerrard Mereiles Kuyt Malouda and Anelka offer us nothing from the wing and Bos and Cole already play like wingbacks. Only this way we have more security at the back and Mikel won't be such a risk with all the defensive responsibility. Barcelona play in a somewhat similair way when in possession (at times), only like this: Valdes Piqué - Busquets - Puyol/Abi Xavi - Iniesta Alves-------------------Messi------------------Maxwell Pedro---------------------Villa
  6. For the Man Utd game: Cech Ivanovic - Terry - Luiz Mikel Bos------------------------------------Cole Ess/Rami - Lamps Anelka - Torres This will probably be United's line-up: VDS O'Shea - Smalling - Vidic - Evra Carrick/Scholes Fletcher - Gibson/Anderson Nani - Berbatov - Rooney
  7. Has a Chelsea player ever managed seven goals in a single CL-campaign?
  8. We should've killed them. They didn't realise they were playing CL football until their were only 20 min left. But I guess we can't expect that to happen with the way we've been playing so 0-2 is a good result. Still need to improve a lot though. We need to play with a lot more tempo and need to improve in the final third. Torres desperately needs a goal. And thank you Blackpool.
  9. Copenhagen didn't do their homework, they're allowing us so much time and space on the ball. Great news for us though. And we're playing in one weird formation.
  10. Exactly. Not making the top four would be a disaster on so many levels.
  11. I'd like to see (realistic): Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole Mikel Ramires/Essien - Lampard Kalou - Torres - Zhirkov Probably will be: The team you put up or Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole Essien/Mikel Essien/Ramires - Lampard Anelka Drogba - Torres Probably wins ! Official line-up Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole Essien Ramires - Lampard Anelka - Torres - Malouda
  12. How Fernando Torres Has Begun To Pay Back The £50 Million Chelsea Paid For Him It's a good read.
  13. That's Messi for ya. His ball control is up there with the very best to have graced the game.
  14. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_6766865,00.html (watch the video) Agree with the isolated comment (and the other obvious stuff of course). The man doesn't have a number two and hardly speaks with anyone. The club really screwed up with that decision.
  15. Yeah but it's the manager's job to keep his players motivated and confident. Our 'whole' team is out of form and that's not something that just happens. That means their's something wrong within the squad and it's the job of a manager to fix it. And he should've prepared himself for something like loss of form with key players in their thirties. But according to him age doesn't matter (I even think he said if you're in your early thirties, you're still young...) and the likes of Drogba and Terry can/will perform until their late thirties. That's not really happening is it? Probably didn't realise the PL is not the Serie A. About Kakuta, that's not the point. At least by playing, you give him the game time and experience he needs to grow. And that way the ageing starters get the rest they need.
  16. Yeah said the same thing. If we don't finish in the top four, not a single quality would want join us since we don't offer ridiculous wages anymore (I think). The problems will just get worse and worse. Man Utd were lucky that during their own 'bad moment', they still qualified for the CL with ease.
  17. Never said that. But if the young players would play more, at least we'd have something to look forward too in the next seasons. I can take a season without winning a single thing but at least give me something to look forward too.
  18. Our form since November puts us 10th in the league, with 19 goals scored and 19 goals conceded in 16 games. I don't think that would happen with the names you mentioned.
  19. Exactly, we have nothing to look forward too. Some say we're in the process of building a new team.. what new team? It's the same old players over and over again and the young players never play. Unless Roman's decides to spend ridiculous money in the summer, something I wouldn't support because that would prove we're nothing without spending a lot of Roman's money, things are looking bad.
  20. Our line-up today: Cech Ferreira Ivanovic Terry Cole Mikel Ramires Lampard Malouda Drogba Kalou Malouda owes us a good performance. Can't remember the last time he played really well.
  21. Ancelotti: I only want to coach team in the Champions League
  22. You really think so? He's been one of their most consistent performers this season.
  23. Even though he plays for the dark side, I will always have great respect for this man. Great footballer and what he's showing this season is amazing (he's been a lot better than any of our players this season except for Cech, Terry and Ivanovic). We can only dream of having a player like him, 20 faithful years at his club (going for 21), at our club in these times and still being a vital member of the team.
