It will be interesting to see how he does against Newcastle and I'll be keeping a close eye on him. His biggest is weakness has been him struggling in high tempo games and the tempo will most likely be high today. But he needs to put in a good performance as that will be key I think. He will need to think quicker and will definitely need to move more.

I know but at least he actually does know how to get past players. His fantastic pace is a great weapon as well, for counter attacks and when sent through into space. And he's never afraid to take his chances. I do think people exaggerate his selfishness. Don't get me wrong, he definitely is selfish (which is also due to a lack of vision) but it's not all that bad. There's too much focus on the bad he does in general.

I found Anelka incredibly frustrating on the right for the most and he used to get a lot of stick on here. But he was good as a striker. Sturridge deserves a chance up front. It's not like our first choice striker is tearing defences apart. I have a feeling he'll do better than Fernando.

I agree with Stewie. Thought he had a good game. Good interceptions and some good tackles. Also provided pretty good support to the attacking players and hardly giving the ball away as usual. No complaints really.

I'd like to see that as well. With Mikel staying deep, Romeu can chase players and try to break up play early. And he has shown that he has the ability to start attacks from deep. It's the only way I can see the double pivot working over a whole season and against top sides (without parking the bus).
