Since when does a shot on goal equal a goal though? Teams who score 4 goals in a game usually get at 8, 9 shots on goal. Nobody's that clinical.

Cech was definitely key but I don't recall Arsenal creating chances left and right. So I have no idea how they would score 4 goals. The excuses never end. Every year they have a nice story about why didn't win anything. But it's never because of their own inability to perform over a whole season. We were lucky he got injured yeah. They didn't have a proper replacement available.

Oh Arsenal fans. Apparently the win was completely undeserved and Cech's the only reason we won. If not for him we'd be trailing 4-1 after the first half. Constantly talking about our goals coming from set-pieces.. Why not scrape set-pieces from the game all together.

Fair enough, we all have our own opinions. I'm happier with Mata as well. Juan's 24, there's more to come. Though last year I was hoping both Juan and Santi would join us. Could've been something but now we have Hazard and Oscar, which is even better.

Yeah I was hoping we'd get Mata and Cazorla last year but he surprisingly joined Malaga. But we've bought some players with great potential since then so I can't complain. Though we always have to pay extreme fees. Mikel, Ramires and the rest of the team did very well to silence him definitely. The pressing was excellent. At one stage we regained the ball quickly after losing possession like six times in succession, I couldn't stop smiling.

The fact that you think Mata's the better player is fine and all but the 'where are those who thought he was better than Mata' comment after the game is just typical. As if this one game decides that matter. Again, if Cazorla outperformed Mata today I'm sure you wouldn't have said he's the better player. Which is only logical. But you obviously haven't seen Santi much, if at all, before he joined Arsenal so there's no point discussing who's been better the past years.

Here I am. Santi's been the better player the past few years for me. Not by much but still. He just has that maturity in his game, not surprising considering he's in his prime, while I also find him more complete. Strong defensive play (for a AM), dangerous FK taker, energetic, better on the ball under pressure. Though I'd say Mata's more decisive which is very important. As a Chelsea fan I'm happy Mata outperformed him today. A lot of that thanks to the fact we didn't give Arsenal much time on the ball today. Though it's typical how the average football fan draws conclusions after a single game if it's in their favour. I'm sure you wouldn't have changed your opinion if Cazorla outperformed Mata today. Good performance by Torres today btw. I was hoping he'd perform today and luckily he did. Just don't disappear again Fernando.

Good performance against a good team. We're clearly improving our game and that's the most important thing. The pressing was excellent for example. Hope we keep that up. The high(ish) line is still a bit of a issue but it wasn't awfully executed. We were much better than before off the ball. Still need to work on creating more (clear cut) chances though. And we should be getting more out of our counter-attacks, we could get quite a few goals from them. Good win Chelsea. Always feels good beating Arsenal. No one really stood out for me so I'm gonna go with Mata as MOTM.

This is the problem with starting Oscar, Hazard and Mata in the '3'. The opponents can easily double up on our fullbacks.

Fair enough on the Didier comment but it was him who gave away a penalty in the same game (Cech save), just saying. And like I said early, if we're pointing out individual contributions, I feel Cech should get a lot more mentions. Just think his role has been underrated in general. Anyway, no big deal.

Team sports are always won by the collective. I was talking about individual contributions and I've noticed it's always Drogba when reffering to our CL win. Which isn't right imo.

Why always Drogba's goal and never Cech's multiple crucial saves? If it wasn't for him, we'd be out of the game for a long time.

I've watched Cazorla for about three years now so I'm definitely not among those who've only hyped him since he joined Arsenal, his performances so far don't surprise me. Santi's been a great player for years and deserves all the plaudits. I'm surprised his performances haven't impressed you. But this is not the place to discuss this.

Yes, I've been wanting to see that set-up for a while (though Ramires at LCMF so he can help out Cole, Oscar on the right as Ivan has Moses so Oscar only plays in the middle). Hazard's pace, energy, dribbling, his ability to hold the ball and his ability to draw out fouls make him too important to bench. And he has a higher work-rate. So yeah no Mata in my personal gameplan. A huge decision but I'd bring him on as a super sub. Don't think he's suited to a CMF role.

Haha Cazorla not special, oh dear. Anyway no need to fear Arsenal. They're very good but they lack firepower, a area in which we are (a bit) superior. I just hope we don't play the 4-2-3-1 system with the usual personel as I feel we'll really struggle in the midfield battle. A 4-3-3 would be the way to go for me as it's a system which suits us a lot more imo. Also hope Moses will start as width will be key and he's shown he's willing to track back and also knows how to defend. We'll need someone to hold the ball up front so I Torres will need to perform. Keep it simple for the most and stop dribbling into crowded areas like a headless chicken. And I don't know what it is but I have a feeling Hazard will score a goal. Anyway bring it on.
