Fabregas and Matic don't look fit. This is not good.
-
Mikel won't change that. He's slow and moves very little. Disagree with you here man, Mikel is the last player I'd bring on.
-
What? Bring on Mikel to score a goal?
-
Bring on Lampard.
-
So much space between the lines, so much space. Driving me crazy. Come on. Tottenham is average.
-
Frank Lampard, the Man City hero.
-
Mason and Bentaleb... that midfield just screams rape me.

Southampton should've destroyed Arsenal. It's quite bizarre how fragile Arsenal can be. Fine players turning into complete parodies of themselves a few times per season and the collective imploding like a bunch of children. Wenger has lost it. No more excuses.

Haha I knew it, I knew it. It was all a lie. I have to say, a proper con job. Love really does blind. All the weak excuses I read.. Frank's a mean, cold calculating man. Appreciate what he did in his time at Chelsea, but I stopped caring when he signed for City. Couldn't even own up to it and had to create this whole farce. If he just said that life goes on and he has to think about his own career, I could've respected him at least. Serious lack of class, Frankie. That said, this doesn't hurt the slightest bit. We still have some old heroes and new heroes are standing up. Our boys just have to win the league now.

Gerrard's slip. It's not even about Gerrard. Gerrard is Liverpool. So Liverpool slipped. Liverpool fell. Liverpool failed. And it was simply amazing. Just thinking about inevitable wankfest if Liverpool won the league, with that average team as well.... I'll never get the history thing in football. Liverpool won many trophies in the 70s and 80s, so what? How does that matter? Those times are gone. It's about now. Chelsea won the CL in 2012. It was nice. But it's over. Time for a new CL victory. But that's just me. The signings. Quite a shift in the quality of newcomers. Nemanja, Cesc, Diego. Wonderful additions. Hope the club keeps it up. The end of Torres. I thought he was gonna stay until the very end of hisi contract. Thank you Milan for the gamble. Too bad it didn't pay off (who didn't see that coming? Not talking to you delusional people). Chels didn't win anything so no really big moments for me. May 2015 bring some big, shiny trophies and some big, shiny players to West London.

You have a point, and that's why you can't just blindly stare at stats, but the thing is, the same rules apply to everyone. There's a reason why the likes of Ozil, Fabregas, Messi, Silva, Ribery, Reus etc. always produce a high number of assists and others don't. They usually play the right ball at the right time and that's a quality in it's own right (of course the 'set-piece assisters' are different, another seperate quality, valuable as well). Creating a high amount chances doesn't say everything either. Cutbacks and 'simple' passes leading to shots that didn't go in are created chances as well. Playing for a side that averages a high amount of shots per game helps a lot as well. The only way you can truly judge a player is by watching matches but you have to understand the game. And I'm no Cruyff or Sacchi but I know a bit. If it's all about goals and assists for you (I'm talking in general here), more power to you. But Hazard has been without a doubt one of the better performers in football this season. Top 10 easily. I don't care where he stands in the lands of Goals&Assists. Now it's time to win big trophies.

This is true but this is Mourinho. He will never build a team or train his team to play like they do. Can you imagine Mourinho playing Kroos and Modric in front of his defence? Or playing a 'midfield' consisting of Alonso, Gotze and Muller with Robben and Ribery on the flanks? And it's a very hard thing to pull off. With the way Mou sets his team up, 'workers' are necessary.

It's against his own beliefs/philosophy/methods, whatever you want call it. It's against the Dutch teachings and almost everyone from here follows them.

I'm not getting into the thing. Both players get plenty of stick (I just saw a post of you calling Oscar irrelevant, quite disappointing Styles). Even Fabregas, who has been excellent, isn't allowed to have a bad game. It's never good enough and I've grown quite tired of it. There's too much focus on the negative. As for today, I thought both Oscar and Willian were good though unspectacular. Oscar was unlucky not to get a goal from that free-kick and Willian was unlucky not to get an assist after that Hazard chance. But I don't like how one is constantly linked to the other. Evaluate them individually, don't constantly bring up the other up, especially to make one look worse. That's retarded. Chels produced a level of attacking football in the first half you don't get to see very often, with two attacking players on the pitch some deem inadequate. Quite impressive if you ask me.

Calling a win here. One great positive about this game is that Koeman won't park the bus.
-
This is what annoys me the most. He often takes so long to on the ball, only to play the ball to the side or backwards. I don't get that. Oscar and Hazard are far more adept at playing one-two's (they're both experts) and act a lot quicker on the ball. They're positional sense is also far superior to Willian's, who is pretty poor in this aspect sadly. Crucial elements for attacking players. This Oscar vs Willian thing is idiotic though. 'Willian is not great but Oscar is terrible. Oscar is decent but Willian is awful'. Embarrassing. They're both Chelsea players and they're both starters. Chelsea are top of the league and are one of the best sides in Europe. They're both part of the reason this team is in such a position.
-
Where did you get those stats from?
-
And Terry is a class apart.
-
7 assists for Chelsea, 3 for Anzhi.
-
I'm drooling here. Fabregas and Hazard especially have produced some incredible play in the tightest of spaces. Always knew this side is capable of some incredibly dominant football. Can't believe it's just 1-0.
-
The beauty of this performance is almost enough to bring tears to my eyes. What an outstanding performance. WHU are lucky they're not looking at a three or four goal lead for Chelsea. Football at it's best.

The whole comparison to Cristiano and Messi needs to stop though. He's not as outrageously talented as Messi, of course he's quite the talent himself, neither does he possess CR's ridiculous goal-sense. Not only did they achieve a lot more at Hazard's age, they went on to improve to a level people didn't think was possible (on a consistent basis). And that doesn't just go for Hazard but any new/hot talent. To be compared to them, you actually have to prove it by playing at that level for years like they have. Completely disagree with the notion on him not being among Chelsea's best players this season. Are you kidding me? Everybody is allowed to have they're opinion, definitely. But if I say Kroos and Modric have been a lot better than Ronaldo this season, I don't sound right. I mean, be serious. My memory with these kind of things is not the best, but in 22 starts, Hazard has had like what.. 3, maybe 4 bad games? 8-10 great games and 7-9 good games. He's been fantastic this season. Add a bunch of goals and assists to his game right now, and he's a top 5 player. Aguero is the only player above him in the league this season imo. You could argue for Cesc and Matic, or even Alexis. But Hazard has been the better player for me, Alexis just stands out more because of his underperforming team mates. He's been one of the better performers in the group stages of the CL as well. Could he score more goals? Sure, and I still expect him to score around 15 goals from open play this season. But 9 goals in 22 starts is anything but a poor return. More assists from Eden? Definitely. This is a area he's been surprisingly ineffective in. A player of his calibre and his style of play should be providing more assists. But even though goals and assists are important, they don't define the quality of the performances. I'm convinced the likes Nedved and Figo would not receive half the praise they used to get by the majority of today. The great thing about Hazard is how there's still plenty of room for improvement and I'm convinced he'll continue to raise his game. Looking at his time at Chelsea, you can see how he keeps progressing with every passing season. Becoming a superstar at this age is a rarity. Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Suarez, Robben, Ribery, Xavi, Iniesta, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Tevez, Schweinsteiger, Fabregas, Modric... you look at that list of players, which player was at Hazard's level at 23? Fabregas is probably the only one (you could argue for Iniesta and Rooney). That's amazing. And then think about how much they improved after 23. Eden can become some player. It's time for a big moment though. Like a memorable performance in the quarter/semi finals of the CL. That's the one thing he lacks right now.

Does that include touching your sister's butt? I can't wrap my mind around it but I guess you're right, different cultures. His sister is pretty yummy btw.
-
Including his sister? Oh man, just the thought of it.. That pic is quite disturbing.

He's never going to be a well-rounded player, a world-class player, but at 24, I do think he can improve quite a bit. Especially since he seems to have the right attitude, willing to learn. His decision-making should improve as he ages (form also plays a huge role in this, when you're always playing and doing well, it all becomes easier), his shooting can become a real weapon and his movement and goal-scoring sense is another area in which he can really grow. I honestly think he has it in him to score 20 goals in a season. He doesn't have to play well to get a goal, that's the mark of a real goal-scorer. Though he'll always have those weaknesses, which will always be frustrating. But scoring goals makes you valuable. But in order to improve, he'll have to claim a starting spot. And he seems to have enough trouble doing that. And while I say I think he can become valuable, whether he actually will improve.. I don't know. In these kind of cases, you can go down the Lampard road (just an example) or you can go down the Mikel road.
