Of course we are. Last time I checked we even had 1 unused foreigner slot and the smallest squad in the league. With Hilario and possibly Bossingwa going we will have 3(!) extra slots. Not to mention that Bertrand counts as homegrown.
Trading him for cash+Sturridge/Anelka would have kept our wage structure mostly intact but paying cash and offering him >110k per week will be against everything the club has been trying for the last few years. IMO wages could actually ruin this deal.
The quality difference between them is of little importance when they never actually play. Also some would say Bertrand is infinitely more useable than Patrick Van Aanholt due to his experience. Not to mention that Benayoun coming back from injury would have taken Kakuta's place on the bench.
Funny world, could have sworn the same was true for Kakuta... Our squad depth didn't change in the slightest. Now if it was good enough to begin with is another painful story.
Knew Belletti's departure months before it was announced. Got everything about Stoch,Neymar and Luiz from there.. I've grown to trust it more than some of the papers..
That's precisely my main concern. Taking a wild guess, I'd say a possible >40m Torres deal instantly cancels any Luiz deal and makes high profile moves for players like Lukaku/Neymar unlikely.
RaWK locking his threads, is there a word for people banning entertainment? In the meantime, this piece of art just became obscure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-Lq2_s9vaw
Maybe but I'm sure a couple "playing for the best club in England" will make them forget everything. The FSG are smart, he'll get a new contract by Monday and the Scousers will have to buy new shirts after burning everything with his name during the weekend.
In view of the new information my opinion of transfer deals with Liverpool remains the same We should never do business with those vermin. neither sell to, or sign players from them.
Not buying any of it until Ancelotti/Gourlay/Abramovich himself confirms it. I would risk sticking my head out and saying Torres -as far as Chelsea are concerned- is the new Kaka/Aguero/insert lazy transfer link. It could even be a rather sad attempt by Liverpool to show that they are keeping their start players to attract the likes of Suarez or maybe one from us to put pressure on Benfica.
As much as I rate and probably like Mourinho much more than Ancelotti I believe he should be given enough time and resources to build his own team and complete his vision. Therefore while generally I'd take Jose in a heartbeat for the next 3-4 seasons Ancelotti is the one.
