  1. It's not about tagging members, it's about having the same fucking discussion twice a week which only leads to personal remarks ignoring the subject at hand. At least this debate was stirred by a user who hasn't had the chance to see the good points raised in the past.
  2. Then how is his price tag good for a stop-gap? He'll be free at the end of the season and we're going to waste 3m when Real Madrid payed 10m for a player who had 6 more months on his contract, was 5 years younger and is perfrorming at a level Pienar couldn't dream of.
  3. A lot of very good points have been made but I'd like to add that something is going really wrong with the club when we're stacking Benayouns instead of stacking Lampards.
  4. Another Salomon Kalou thread? *yawn*
  5. The same was said about ManCIty and us back in the day. I've argued how Ozil and VdV are just exceptions to the new rule but Wenger's contracts and ability proves that good deals are still possible despite what our transfers suggest. If we're to accept 17 mil for Subotic as the right price then we might as-well stop babbling about how we over-payed for Zhirkov and Ramires.
  6. Is Wilkins able to coach a team? Nevertheless some would expect him to carry us out through the season had Ancelotti been sacked.
  7. Emelano would be a PR disaster. I'm sure the club would want to avoid it at all costs.
  8. *sigh* Has the market really changed that much? I refuse to believe that after some of the deals the other big clubs have pulled through. FFS Thomas Vermaelen cost Arsenal just 10 mil!
  9. My point was that the theory of Abramovich not paying more than 15 or 20 millions for a players is kinda disproved since we bid 20m for a player with no experience in Europe. Hell we did pay over 15 millons for Zhirkov and Ramires so I don't see where that came from.
  10. Suits the profile Ancelotti talked about, don't know anything about him but if his price tag is reasonable he's more than welcome.
  11. Chelsea managers are easy targets, doubt JFK would like the idea of sitting on our bench.

  13. No need for conspiracy theories. We've had posts similar to those banners on this very forum over the last couple of weeks.. What's stopping views on the internet turning into banners in RL?
  14. Honestly, did you really expect him to start a PL game?
  15. Didn't Lampards goal come from Kakuta's corner? Sure with such corners he won't get many assists (JT's goal was an exception) but goalkeepers can't catch them and defenders are often uncomfortable with them. For the record, I wouldn't mind relegating him to 4th/5th striker as with Borini out we don't really have any young strikers who need playing time.
  16. When discussing Barcelona/Spain defenders we should keep in mind that defending for a team that consistently has >65% possession is a much easier task than what most defenders face. Therefore I think having Lucio/Samuel/Vidic/Terry over the Barcelona pair wouldn't be a bad idea.
  17. Since you're (probably) referring to my post I'll answer this.2 of those 8 players are keepers who the club wanted to demote by buying Begovic. Keepers are much easier to replace. Youngsters who aren't real members of the squad* are included in those 25 player so losing any of them will make ZERO difference in the squad dynamics. So we're left with 4-5 players that any club of our size can replace without breaking a sweat. ..and even if 8 was the real number everyone knew that the squad that won the league last year with 11 players approaching or being >30 needed a big revamping. No reality check needed, Fulham Broadway opened a poll because he wanted opinions. *Just how many starts do Kakuta,Van Aanholt, Bruma and Borini have between them? Exactly.
  18. As far as I'm concerned that's a lie, which you could have avoided by throughly reading the Match topics. Granted I've never wanked over a successful pass but I've both cheered and pointed out anything impressive he did on the pitch. Well that's just bollocks. I wasn't planning on quoting an example in that post but thanks anyway.
  19. Pretty much.Now where's that Neymar topic?
  20. That, and beyond Ancelotti my problem is with those who brought Kalou to this club and extended his contract. As for the Kalou debate, it's getting tiresome. Especially when some have the audacity to bring up his stats and how supposedly managers like him after these have been broken down, analyzed and refuted countless times. Funny how after they run out of arguments, the Kalou lovers get all emotional and resort to insults or switching the target to things like a users age, his admiration for a player or even questioning his love for the club.
  21. Lying for the Kop is the most important term of all Livepool contracts. Ask Rafa
