  1. Considering his effect on the Community Shield game this is almost as good as Lampard's return.
  2. I'm shocked but this is a perfect draw, even at our current form their no real match for us. Arsenal should forfeit, losing 3-0 at Camp Nou is the best they can do. United got an easy opponent and Spurs will be a match for AC Milan.
  3. Agree 100%, especially with the bolded.
  4. Since when are we that obsessed with huge and strong strikers ? I know Drogba is the best of his kind and that we've grown used to his style but shorter, weaker and better dribblers have certainly their uses. Under Ancelotti good crosses are few so it's not like we are build around his style of play.
  5. To be honest I wouldn't mind if his goals led us to a PL-CL double and >80 millions for our club Everything I've read about Ganso suggests that he's as good as you say. And I can certainly trust the opinion of Brazilians as they have seen the likes of Romario, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho before they were even known in Europe.
  6. København would be great. Knowing UEFA and their draws we'll probably get AC Milan or Roma. United will have the easiest draw and Arsenal will ..uhm..nevermind.
  7. Agreed, while I've been arguing that we're short of numbers at central midfield and central defence what seems to have hit us is being short of quality upfront. God knows what happened to Anelka and with Kalou being a non-option and young Sturridge being played out of position we are left with just one Striker. The Board tried to get Neymar but just like with Begovic the selling club didn't give in and it was decided that we shouldn't bid for someone else. I don't have high hopes for January, our summer targets are unlikely to move and Srna will only come if Bosingwa doesn't get a new contract.
  8. We did bid 30m for Neymar during the summer, check the previous pages.
  9. Can't rule out a move even in two years. He's still 18!
  10. City have a better record of playing youth than we do
  11. Think it's a case of an agent mentioning teams so the kid can get a better contract. Never heard of the boy to be honest.
  12. Here's my delayed post match rant: This game was supposed to be the one that either ruined or saved our season, therefore a draw was probably the most frustrating result especially when we had the chance to win it with a pen. I share Blue Heart's view that we didn't play great, our attack only managed to score one lucky goal against a team that has kept just one clean sheet. Keeping Drogba on our bench resulted in us having to rely on Kalou's accuracy (oxymoron?) as Anelka still thinks he's a midfielder. Drogba was hungry when he came on but we wasted 45 minutes. We still can't create any clear chances without Malouda playing upfront and we struggle with goals. On the other hand our confidence and our spirit impressed me, the very fact that we kept attacking and looked like winning the game despite conceding first was something that only our youth had done so far. Tottenham were really quick and direct which forced us to play faster and -surprisingly- we had no problem with that. Having John Terry (and even Ivanovic) lead the line looked ridiculous but inspired some much needed confidence. Ramires, Ferreira and Kalou (in that order) did a great job at containing Bale. Ramires was excellent, stats may not reveal that but I can certainly see his uses after this game. Anelka was shocking. He needs to wake up, we can ignore such performances from Kalou but this is unacceptable for a player of Anelka's quality. If we change our formation those two would be the first I'd put on the bench. We've already dropped too many points, unfortunately can't smile at a draw even at WHL.
  13. Hope that doesn't mean Malouda will play CM.
  14. Our attack is so hopeless that Terry and Ivan have to occasionally turn into strikers.
  15. 1 man in the fricking box?! Seriously?
