What a waste of talent Marko Marin turned out to be. I remember being excited about him before he even signed for Chelsea, doesn't even make the provisional squad here. Any idea who probably starts up front? Not that educated about our young ones.

I would rather have a 36 year old Drogba rather than Torres or Ba as a third option to Costa and Lukaku.

I can't see us giving out many starts to a 19 year old. So not really sure why he'd be interested in joining Chelsea if it's starts he's looking for. As talented as he may be, trust us to loan him out and then sell him off.

Sorry to sound so negative but I think we've been overplaying this one alot. I hope all that we're reading into his statement and silence is true, but it seems it's all just speculation, guesswork and rumors until something concrete comes up. It's Rooney and United's move. Won't be surprised if this one drags to the deadline day and we end up splashing a stupid amount of cash for him.

Not doing so might be clear indication of him accepting something personal in the fixture. I have a feeling he won't let it get to the players, and treat it like any other friendly. Because, frankly, a loss could then damage the good momentum we've built up going into this.

The statement says: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney. "Although the terms of the offer are confidential, for avoidance of doubt and contrary to what is apparently being briefed to the press in Sydney, the proposed purchase price does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United."
