But at the same time, if Cesc will stay deep, Matic will also have to run through the channels whenever the two strikers manage to create space for him, similarly to when Giaccherini scored against Belgium. Either Matic or Cesc, and I can't see any of them doing that. I don't think we have the midfield players to play the formation. I wouldn't mind Hazard as second striker if he works on his shooting.

I don't know guys, all these 3-5-2 formations i'm seeing from you don't seem too tactically sound. Cesc as a DM with JT behind him? Matic as the b2b? Where does Hazard fit if not as a second striker? Cesc as the b2b? Already 4-4-2 will be stretching it with Fabregas, 3-5-2 is just not his system. Azpi would definitely work in a back 3 though.

De Rossi is actually the dm, he often is (in the defensive phase) almost on the same line as the cb. Against Spain he was higher up. De Rossi Parolo-Giaccherini 3-5-2 Wouldn't really work with the kind of players we have. Imagine Fabregas in the dm role (Pirlo role), or as one of the two midfielders, that would be tragic. Cahill and Ivanovic wouldn't work also in a three man defence. I still think we will go with a 4-4-2

I don't know if a Morata- Bat....Bat...Whatever ( ) would make a good partnership. I would much rather have Costa beside him, they would complement each other nicely. Wouldn't be a bad dealing having Pellé as well as second to Costa. Wouldn't complain. CB-LB-CM-ST 3 minimum to go still.

Considering the kind of money Real was asking for Morata I don't think it's a bad deal.
