  1. In August Tomo started this thread 166 pages later we have our answer who Chelsea's transfer targets are fucking no one.
  2. I've been thinking this as well. It's clear the squad needs new faces ban lifted and nothing something doesn't feel right.
  3. I remember telling this girl at work a couple of years ago that once in the 80's I did some of my christmas shopping on christmas day. I said to her the only places open were the garage and the local west indian shop so I bought some driving gloves and a six pack of Super Tenants as presents. ''She said to me you're joking you're not being serious'' I said ''yeah I wasn't telling the truth it was a six pack of special brew it's a far superior drink''
  4. Our transfer policy seems to be exactly like a man doing his christmas shopping. Last minute, drunk and ending up with something nobody wants.
  5. https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2020/jan/28/david-squires-on-football-fixture-wars-fa-cup-carabao-liverpool-manchester-city
  6. I actually listened to it on the radio I've never watched the one show and I'm not going to start now just because the cup draw is on it. The Cup Final was an event in black and white telly days now it's just another football match. Back in the 70's when I grew up cup final three o' clock only three channels and the pubs were shut and most people had Monday- Friday jobs. Totally different now times change and things move on only the BBC are clinging on to the magic of the fa cup bollocks.
  7. That was Arsenal FB who played Sheffield Wednesday five times twice at Filbert Street ! Of course we played them in 85 (Milk Cup what a poxy name ) the Canoville game and then beat them in the replay.which ended up being the third game.
  8. I was brought up a few miles from Wembley the best thing about it was it was so easy to bunk into. . Saw loads of England internationals as a kid although we gave the England- Scotland games a swerve you could hardly see the pavement because of the empty cans of McEwans tartan bitter !
  9. I do think it lost something when it was played in Wales it didn't feel right somehow. But semi finals at Wembley are taking the piss fair enough Spurs-Arsenal in 91 but then us against Luton in 94 same year Mancs against Oldham. My mate is a Villa fan and he said we should have beaten you in 2010 semi final I completely forgot about it we've played so many recently.
  10. That poxy ticker tape when the cup is lifted you can't even see the players. X factor rejects singing abide with me they're trying to turn into the Superbowl and it looks ridiculous was it Tinchy Stryder one year and a monumental cock up with the sound ?
  11. I have to agree even though it hurts to say so . The fa cup has been completely usurped not by the premier league but the champions league when four teams are chasing all season to get a place the fa cup is largely an unwanted distraction. The fa cup is dying on it's arse I wish more fans would admit it.The worse offenders are the BBC they keep coming out with the cliche the magic of the fa cup that might have been true but when Man United refused to play in it and played in a tinpot exhibition match that's when some of it's lustre died funny enough we won it that year. The fa cup used to be great the 82 season when we beat Liverpool and narrowly lost to Spurs was brilliant especially as we were so shit then. Every away game we played in the cup we bought thousands usually more than we would have for a league match most clubs did. Now fans don't even turn up for home fa cup games and who can blame them if you're a season ticket holder at Reading or Doncaster if you have to pay again.
  12. He's been seen with Lord Lucan and Shergar
  13. It is a weird one alright we were threatening legal action if it wasn't overturned and now nothing. It's like getting done for drunk driving you're counting down the days till the bans lifted and when it is you don't bother driving anymore.
  14. He was but there wasn't much competition to be honest .
  15. Coventry fans have been treated like shit by all concerned I feel really sorry for them. Good trivia question I saw Chelsea play three different clubs on the same ground Selhurst Park. Palace, Wimbledon and Charlton.
  16. Saw his debut against Liverpool me and my mate got badly crushed in the Shed that day. To say he was eccentric was an understatement he was the first sweeper keeper. We were really shit back then and his first season we got relegated with only 20 points although he didn't sign till about March. We nearly got promoted in 1980 but after that the team and Borata went badly downhill the lowpoint was the 6-0 loss to Rotherham in 1981 there were rumours he was drunk that day and I'm not sure he played for us again.. He was often in the pub pretty soon after the final whistle when we were at home apparently. He's the definition of a cult hero and is remembered fondly by all us old boys he was a decent keeper and the first player I ever saw kick the ball out when an opposing player was lying down injured he got widely applauded in the media for that and rightly so.
  17. Kepa is one bad mistake from getting the boo boy treatment or the ironic cheers when he makes a simple save. There were a lot of mumerings on Tuesday night but they will only get louder if his form continues. Some people don't like booing me I've got no problem with it when a pampered millionaire is not doing his job properly he should be told in no uncertain terms.
  18. There's a new drinking game being played. You take a shot every time Man United do it's called dry January
  19. Good few Chelsea goals in this vid. 97 what a day https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/48304574
  20. Only 10 points between us in fourth and the Geordies in 14th utter dross in the PL bar the top two no getting away from it.
  21. Again there's references to Klopp, Poch and Pep they have absolutely nothing to do with us and our current plight. These lazy comparisons mean fuck all the only thing that matters is the here and now and we're struggling badly. Since the start of the new year we've had two straightforward wins against a struggling Burnley and championship Forest, on the other side of the coin the tedious draw against Brighton, Newcastle where we never looked like scoring and the less said about last night's fucking fiasco the better.
  22. Three clean sheets in fifteen in all competitions is diabolical and with some of the games we've got coming up this stat won't improve.
  23. For me that goal by Sturridge great shot but he's slow getting into position.
