That's not strictly true. I'm going to rack my brains and here's the list of British black managers as I can recall. Barnes and Ince both disasters Barnes especially three managers jobs he's had been sacked after a few months in all of them. Barnes cites racism in football but don't forget he supported Suarez in the Evra incident and to be honest his credibility was fucked after that. Ince did ok in the lower leagues got the Blackburn job and was completely out of his depth and again was sacked after a few months. His last job at Blackpool he was actually banned for threatening the ref in the tunnel. Sol Campbell who is such a twat who at one time wanted to be a Tory MP I just can't take him seriously. The only other ones I can think of are Chris Hughton who's a safe pair of hands at a championship or lower premier clubs and Keith Curle who's a journeyman manager in the lower leagues and Darren Moore who was briefly the WBA manager. Now that is a very short list I may have missed some out so apologies if I did. The way football management is now it's the same middle aged or in Roy Hodgson's case pensioner getting the same jobs all the time just look at WBA and Palace's recent managers. Then you're left with the elite managers jobs and if you're not an ex player of the club Arteta, Lampard etc or have a good CV like Ancelotti then you're not in with a shout. Pep, Mourinho, Klopp etc will get hired till they retire or in Mourinho's case his next job might not be so high profile. Some black players either say straight out they don't want to manage like Ian Wright and some just go straight to punditry recent examples Jenas, Micah Richards and our very own Ashley Cole. But one thing there is definitely a lack of is black managers in the lower leagues is it racism possibly but everytime let's say Newport or Bradford have a manager it's always a white middle aged bloke who's probably been sacked several times Micky Adams had twelve managerial jobs between 1996 and 2014. There's obviously loads of black players playing in the English lower leagues and yet they are or don't ever seem to be considered for managerial roles surely someone has to take a chance I don't understand the reluctance and it will stop the likes of Micky Adams getting jobs they don't deserve.

Three rounds of the Carabao cup in two weeks in September just stupid. It should have been scrapped for the season if fans aren't allowed in then it's hardly a cash cow for smaller clubs if they get drawn against the top premier league clubs. Liverpool played kids in the FA cup that's going to happen a lot next season.
-
I actually watched last night's game which is rare for me Neymar dived and Taylor gave Arsenal a free kick. He's so incompetent it's unreal two things I'm hoping for next season firstly when fans are allowed back and secondly that Taylor refs a game at the Bridge so I can give that nude nut cunt some abuse.

The old European Cup it was still two legs and same away goals rules applied the difference was it was a straight knock out competition from the start. It was a far harder trophy to win games were always pretty tight as it was just the champions of the countries involved. English football was so different then we never qualified for the 74 and 78 World Cups yet English clubs dominated European club football despite having a 42 game season and two domestic cup competitions.
-
It's not exactly transfer news but there are rumours that if Kepa leaves in tribute to him the number 1 jersey will be retired.

I watched Saturday's game in the pub (socially distanced of course) I'm watching Man U on BT I don't know if this is happening on all the tv coverage but there is what sounds like German singing what the fuck for?. Apart from anything else it's a match between English and Danish teams and we all know there's no one in the stadium whose benefit is it for cause it's proper annoying.

Perfect article if you're a glass half full or glass half empty fan. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/aug/10/the-fiver-frank-lampard-chelsea-big-cup-bayern-barcelona-manchester-city

I never pay much attention to any of those sites to be honest. I hate Talk Sport I was in my mate's car the other day Simon Jordan has his own show talk about someone who likes the sound of his own voice fucking hell. The weird thing is Danny Kelly who is a journalist and knows his stuff is playing second fiddle to that twat who in essence is a failed businessman mind you so is Trump.
-
Transfer pub sounds weird surely transfer tavern is better or as that's used on other platforms Sky, Talk Sport would legal issues arise ?.
-
Bruce Buck is hardly going to call Lampard useless it's faint praise. A chairman is not going to publicly chastise the manager he wouldn't need to he'd just sack him not even Bates did that he called them hopeless after they left mind you.

You say we are the worst fans in the world how many Chelsea fans do you know personally none and I'm not talking about your buddies on Facebook. You have no idea about what Chelsea fans are like apart from a few posts on here you don't agree with and you go on a rabid tirade about us. And spare us the fucking American analogies about waving pitchforks we're a London football team mate not a hick town in Alabama.
-
Who are you to take the moral high ground about how fans behave ?. If you don't like it either don't read it or support someone else. Every fan has the right to slag off his team it happens everywhere on every football forum and social media. Of course it's over the top sometimes emotions run high but fuck no way am I going to let someone like you make sweeping statements about Chelsea fans stay in your lane mate.
-
Well said son but shh you're not allowed to question a legend. And you make a good point three games three defeats eleven goals conceded but that's ok there will be a massive turnaround next year when all our defensive frailties will be completely eradicated by a manager whose teams have conceded over 100 goals in two seasons in the league.

Such bland uninspiring bollocks tear the fuck into them Mourinho would have done . The sort of thing he would have said if he was still working for BT. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard: "Nights like this in a footballing sense, show me a lot, tell me a lot. "In a football sense I feel like I know where we can improve, so now it's time to look at that. "I saw lots of good things in the team and also some of the bad we have seen this season. We had individual errors that gave them goals and at this level that will finish you off. "We want more but the feeling is we have achieved something with the group we have. Now is the time to think where we can improve."

Blinding graphics (is that the right word I am old V )

Eight years ago the greatest night in our history tonight it was like going back to Anfield in the 80's where you knew we had no chance of winning just hoping it wouldn't be a total embarrassment. How many goals have we conceded in all competitions this season we conceded the same number of goals in the league as Brighton that's unacceptable but of course it's all down to the transfer ban, having to the play the youngsters ad fucking nauseum. A 70 million keeper, an established German international someone who had a successful loan at Everton a club legend at right back looking fucking clueless the buck stops with one person and one person only.
-
But asking an Englishman if he understands English is setting the benchmark of course and you still didn't even spell achievement right. I don't know how to put it into a context you'd understand stupid of me to think you'd ever travel to see your team play carrying your laptop from the kitchen to the bedroom is about you're limit. Interesting that a team you profess to support for 16 years you only join a forum when we buy an American player. Anyway mate I'm getting ready to go to the pub to see if we can claw back this 3-0 what about you are you going to watch the soccer with some corn dogs and grits yee ha
-
Yes and I even know how to spell achievement mate. Try travelling anywhere as a fan (ha ha ) on a Chelsea away trip and have a few beers don't get pissed (not the septic tank version of the word pissed) fly home and then travel 200 miles a couple of days later and go to work. Just because their athletes and will be flying in luxury planes doesn't mean it doesn't tax you physically and mentally. Of course they've had a break since CV but to start pre-season before everyone else and still be playing Monday is a massive achievement (I before E )

How long have you followed football since Pulisic signed for Chelsea ?. Promoted clubs can have a first good season and then struggle in their second they haven't and no one was expecting them to do as well as the first season they were promoted (although I doubt you knew this with you're season long interest in soccer as no doubt you called it up until recently), Anyone who didn't think Chelsea wouldn't finish in the top six is being disingenuous it's too easy to say I'll be happy with a top ten finish it was utter bollocks and just an insincere soundbite. Point is lamps' acheivement of top4 is ridiculed by saying, "rest of the teams fucked up", should not the same apply for wolves? That's what you posted I haven't put words into your mouth. It's not hype at all mate you travel to somewhere like Russia get back to on a Friday morning to then have to play at lunchtime on a Sunday lunchtime at Newcastle and clubs like Wolves have far smaller squads then teams in the Champions League.Their season started on July 25th and will be still going on Monday if that's not an achievement I don't know what is. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/08/06/3-reasons-wolves-deserve-more-credit-for-impressive-2019-20-season/
-
He looked totally lost last night but apart from being an outstanding footballer he came across as a really decent bloke very laid back and didn't take himself to seriously not an utter narcissist like that oily prick Ronaldo.
-
Are you seriously trying to say that Wolves were expected to finish above Spurs who had just reached the CL final and Arsenal you're taking the piss mate. Loads of clubs have had decent first seasons only to struggle the following one to keep them where they are is remarkable and mentioning the Europa League is relevant with the Thursday/ Sunday factor. How in any shape of form have Wolves fucked up this season ?
-
To keep a club like Wolves above the likes of Spurs and Arsenal is an outstanding achievement and they are still in the Europa League their first time in Europe since the early 70's.
-
Good post and I agree but I do think the club is trigger happy and won't hesitate to sack the manager despite their status at the club.
-
Our most successful manager ever was sacked twice, a double winning manager was sacked the following season and a champions league and fa cup winning manager didn't last a calendar year. I think some fans are under the illusion Lampard will be given time he won't it's an overused cliche but it's a results business and if their not up to scratch he'll be out legend or not. Another overused word is project and granted Lampard couldn't have one with a transfer ban but he's already spent heavily and we all know the areas that need strengthening so if he's allowed to trim the squad of the likes of Bats, Barkley etc and bring in more players and it's not going well then he won't last the season.

The corner flag had more touches of the ball than Hazard in the second half.
