I wonder who he had his contract negotiations with? Roman or Marina? Whoever it was they must have gone thru long term plans and expectancies for each side. Because I love the guy but Ive never imagined him being good as a penny pincher/bring them up thru the ranks kinda guy. Hes always PREFERRED where possible the 'complete' player. So its scaring me seeing this happen. Its his 3rd season and the last war didnt work out too well for us.

Tho I dont agree with this newly found penny pinching ways mainly because of our sad lack of quality depth whats the matter with a One in One out policy? Yes I hear your answer will be "he likes all our squad" but this is what I cant believe. Hes a much cleverer bloke than me and I can see we need help. He also said numerous times pre season last year that he loved having team selection problems. The only time he had them is when we had injuries or suspensions. We dont have anyone on the bench really pushing for a place and that must be a one off in the PL. Alot of clubs have good options fighting for a place. Why cant we?

The thing in my mind is Mou had drilled into the lads his defend at all cost mentality and I'm worried that its gone a bit too far. When we have the forwards we have then theres a problem somewhere when we only take 1/2/5 shots on goal during a game.

And how do you suggest we groom hm for JTs spot? I cant see JT leaving for 2 more seasons and with Stones coming in and Mous apparent love for Cahill it will put Zouma right down the pecking order. Hes too good to be wasted like that. We will lose him IMHO.

Thats how I see it. The depth we have with AMs is truly awful.

This is the only downside to getting Stones for me. We have got an amazing young CB already that we havent put in over Cahill so what would we do with him then? If you tell me send him out on loan Id go scatty. I personally think if we get Stones we will end up losing Happy. And that would be a crime.

I agree and hasn't that always been the problem? Keepers I put into the same bracket with defenders. They don't get any of the headlines when we win but we soon hear about them if we lose.

Not sold on Moses neither and I find it a strange situation we are in. I am looking forward to maybe seeing Falcao/Costa together. The intrerviews hes had and mentioned Falcao you can sense that he really likes the guy so their chemistry must still be there. You can see it in this. I know its a joke but you can tell theyre mates.

While I do think we could take it further and upgrade a few of our 1st team I totally agree with you about this. With Mou buing undoubtedly one of the best footballing minds of his generation he has got to know this is a big problem for us. I love Mou and he is about the only manger I would want with us but theres got to be a problem behind the scenes and its got me worried.

I know he wants 2 more years with us and theres no doubting hes a fit lad even for his age but we know he has his flaws. WHEN is the right time for us to start bringing (Stones?) in his place? Right now we got 3 of our back 4 on 1 year contracts. 2 of them have issues that gives us problems. And we have 1 great young lad just begging to step up and take his part which unless we are very careful hes going to start having to look out for himself needing regular playing time. What do you guys think would be the best way for us to go with this?

As me old mate Mick says "You can't always get what you want, You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes you find, you get what you need!" I just hope Mou realises we do need help in our midfield and he bloomin well does summet about it. With the 2 lads we have been 'linked' with being great to give us that help we need and neither would break the bank if thats what our problem is then I don't understand what we are waiting for.
