This is 1 reason we don't get the players we need. IMHO if we NEED a certain player for a position that WE NEED then we can't try to get players on the cheap. YESS of course I realize age etc etc but he would make such a difference.I hope this doesn't fuckin go down to the last day with us not stumping up the extra 5 or 10 mill needed to swing it with the board wanting to gamble on getting him free!!!

I'm sorry for the guy. Hes obviously going thru some shit with whatever board members are directly connected to player transfers, Hes more used to dealing with a hands on sporting director and I doubt very much if Granny turns up in her casuals every day asking his advice. What we need is a proper sporting director, a previous head scout or something with experience in looking at talent and specifically to suit our team and manager. Its gotta be difficult for any of our managers whoever it is or will be. If you remember he left Juve straight into pre season training because he was pissed at the transfer system and I can see him doing it with us. Hes already said hes more of a 'coach' with us and not a manager. Just like Mou Roman is stripping back the managers duties. Not the way I would run a club. While I do like the lad as a person and hes probably great in the dressing room I'm really torn about him. He is so bipolar. Hes red hot one minute and totally clueless the next. Still might prefer him over Cahill. Prefer Rudi over Cahill. Should have let him go with Bane IMHO.

I think there was many - myself included to an extent, that expected an influx of top Italian players following him. But this wasn't the case I have always wished I had a super hero power to become a fly on the wall at will. It would be excellent to drop in on these conversations just to finally know for certain what goes on and who wants what etc. But sadly we have to wait till a manager leaves or writes his memoirs to get the full spiel. I just hope he can get some sort of deal to make everyone including himself happy. But if you read/watch the interviews he gives its plain that we just don't operate loke that. If the guys changed his phone number so agents cant contact him then he sees it as pointless having conversations with them as they will lead nowhere. Theres a difference between a manager having full control to giving the club a list of players he would LIKE to get if possible. He onlt gives his opinions IF ASKED.

He says that OTHER CLUBS hes been at has a sporting director who he talks to (inferring we don't work that way). I think this has upset/pissed him off so much that hes even changed his number so he cant receive agents calls etc. I had an idea going back to Mous 1st arrival when there was a report trhat it was in his contract that he had nothing to do with buying,selling of players and was only asked for his opinion. I honestly dont understand how a club can operate like this. The manager should have a major say in transfers and at least have a veto to stop transfers he didn't like.

And as he never talks about players normally we cant get any ideas of just who he wants. It SEEMS that all he does is tell the club in what position we/he needs to strengthen then leaves it to the club to sort out.
