Yesterday Chelsea Croatia supporters' club had an honor to represent all supporters' clubs and give Player of a Year award to our worthy winner - N'Golo Kante! That's me on the right, in what was, the most unbelievable day of my life.

Yes. Because we, silly us, thought that he will bang goals on more regular basis. So the second part of 2014/15 came. And we thought, "oh, what the hell, he played great first half of season, he is often injured this season, suspended, he cannot always score... it will be improved, he cannot always be that inconsistent". 2015/16 came. And we thought; "oh, but the whole team is playing terrible, we cannot judge individual player". 2016/17 came. "Finally, we are playing great, no injuries for Costa, no suspensions, this will be his season!" - Didn't happen. And now we are thinking: "He had enough time to prove himself, and, after 3 years, we know all about him. No, he will never get more consistent (as we thought in 2015), no, he will never improve." Comparing his first year in club when we were happy about him because we had much less knowledge about him, and after three years is just irrelevant. This is not just some impulsive reaction to him playing bad. Nothing like that sh** with Hazard and some fans, that was rather impulsive and immature. This is real, this is our reality. ________ If you are gonna be not good in the air, not good in the link up, not good dribbler, not particularly fast, not good passer, not good with your attitude, YOU MUST F**ING score 25 goals in season if you want to be considered top striker! Because goals are all you got! Without his goals, Diego is almost nothing, almost like having Inzaghi who doesn't score.

If we win double this season... "Double, double, double - John Terry has won the double! And that shit from the Lane, have won f*ck all again, John Terry has won the double!", my God, I'll sing that untill my throat dies out. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk

He knew we didn't stood a chance, United could've scored 3-4. I think, in his head, he was at our next game, United game became irrelevant after first half an hour. At least I was. We need to stop seeing things wrong, this team is, individually, same or level below of other top 6 clubs. And whatever happens, Antonio did a great job, whether we win the title or not. He is the reason we are still first. I saw this coming, even in January when we didn't sign anyone. I KNEW that we must've strengthen back then, because we have massive chance to win the league. Either on striker, wingbacks, centrebacks or midfield position, I was begging to bring someone in, even to force a transfer and overpay it. But, nothing happened, and we are stuck with what we have. Can't believe, in the season when it is so clear that opportunity for win it is so big, we are with only 2 decents wingbacks, and Diego Costa at the top with no decent replacement. We are always one injury away from being shit. January was a big failure in my eyes, and I don't know who should take blame for it.

Good thing we played against United. Because, with this kind of performance we would lose against anyone, or at least draw. We are not good, but we are good enough to take 13-15 from 18 points from our remaining games, which should be enough.
-
Yes, he could be a good option.
-
More important than searching for main striker, is to find good backup. We can do with either Lukaku/Morata/Belotti/Costa (if he is sure he wants to stay and be focused, Conte will know if he is), I don't think there is so much difference between them, especially now when first three are still youngish - but backup striker must be reliable and good. Not Michy, not a guy like Remy who is injury prone. Good, reliable striker.
-
Whatever you say about Lukaku and Costa, one thing is clear - Lukaku has very good "header" on the ball, could be even better with time. Not just "header", Diego can't even jump. That is one of his biggest disadvantages, if you ask me. Tall targetman who cannot head the ball into the net for his life. Also, Lukaku can actually shot outside of the box, decently powerful shot. Don't know really who I rate higher between the two, maybe Lukaku by a small distance, but would like to se Lukaku in top team to really prove himself, for sure.
-
One more thing I want to say. I won't be mad, sad or whatever if he stays. If he stays, ok - we have very good (not excellent), not so reliable striker in our team. But then his backup MUST be good. Not Michy, maybe not even Llorente or I don't know. That second option must be good, and that second option must get minutes, whenever Costa fucks up. So - in lot of cases. I don't have that much problem with him staying, I am having problem that he is considered a lot better than he is, among our fans, and that he is praised for his "attitude", which is not good at all.
-
Yes, 2 or 3 guys wanted him out. But that's it. There are dozens of people wanting Costa out, it's not even close.
-
I never compared him to Torres. But I will now - Diego Costa is a lot better player than CFC Torres ever was. I only wanted to say that scoring 20 goals a season isn't that special, that even CFC Torres did it once (STILL BEING MUCH INFERIOR PLAYER TO COSTA: to ensure myself no one will be putting words in my mouth again ). Especially in a title winning team when he scored 21 goals (CFC 2014/15). Or you want to tell me Costa had amazing season 2014/15? Do you know Diego Costa scored ZERO goals in UCL in 2014/15? And he is irreplacable? Why is that? Oh, yes, we had Torres, now Diego is irreplacable. Add to that that he clearly wanted out of the club, that he is regularly talking to media that he could go to China or wherever ("yes, I could go, you never know"), add to that that he really doesn't care if he gets red card (rugby off ball tackles) and leave his team hanging, add to that that he will always cause some problems. Yes, I AM watching football, but maybe some of you are not seeing Diego Costa and that our club is becoming his b**ch. I'm still waiting someone to explain me what is all the fuss about him. I was over the moon with him too at the moments (when we FINALLY got ok striker (2014) and recently - months ago when he was playing good). But when I look at it more globally, more long term, when I calculate all the good and the bad... this is what I get. I'm not saying that he is average, I'm saying - we can do better, that better being striker you could actually count on. And to do better than this is not THAT hard as someones think. If you want to tell me something, I'm here, mate.
-
Having THIS fragile, inconsistent player, who is really not that great even when on top form, is not worth it. He will always have his problems, always. Being that suspensions, wanting to leave, long off-forms, injuries... His head will always be a problem, he will never get rid of it. It's starting to turn into an Oscar situation, from year and a half ago: but, but, he just needs to find a good form, but but, it wasn't his day, but but, when he has his day he is the best... Give me a break. Also, please stop comparing him and our ex strikers. Torres once had 20-goals a season with us too. Any decent striker with Hazard, Pedro, (sometimes) Fabregas and Kante behind him could.
-
Not that great, IMO. Pool is losing every now and then from this "small teams". Everton is not so consistent. Spurs were not that great in first half of a season, and Arsenal is Arsenal. I think this means nothing...
-
A. Cole did the same, when Arsenal was 100 times better. Arsenal fans are just sad, I don't think they are that stupid to blame and attack Sanchez and his family for leaving (being it for Chelsea or wherever). With other points I might agree.
-
When seeing Aguero goal for second time - ok, yes, mostly Courtois fault. But where was Kante to mark Aguero and clear the danger? It was clear as a sky rebounded ball could go only to him. Think N'Golo wasn't at his best yesterday.
-
I'm embarrassed when our fans sings his name during game. Guy who clearly wanted out (Altetico, China, you name it), and has average or shit season third year in a row. Yes, he was average in 2014/15 too when he missed a lot of games (mostly because of his shit suspensions - his fault), and went AWOL second part of season, like most of the guys bar Hazard and Willian. Please, stop singing his name!! And, Diego, it's time to move on.
-
Sergio f***in Ramos, considered one of the bests, has most brainfarts of all defenders I think.
-
Kante-Pedro-Hazard counter goal? Hazards' shoulder flick/pass to Kante? Hazards' crazy pass to Costa and his crazy turn? Alonsos' Messiesque slalom through two players? THAT Kantes' crazy fast run to save it from going out? And his overall masterpiece performance? No fun, I'll give you no fun... (And yes, Costa was shit, Fabregas average, I know.)
-
I think something is wrong in his approach to the games lately. Either is that Contes' plan doesn't work for him anymore, or I don't know. He is same Hazard from beginning of that 13 games win haul, same quality, but something is not ticking right. Maybe him being our only creative spark on whole field took it's tool and he cannot be that dangerous in front of goal like before. I miss those 3-4 shots per game stats from beginning of 13-games haul, when he was beast like that I think we played the best football.
-
Can't believe I actually believed in this guy. He said he wanted to leave for Atletico, and I still gave him a chance to disapprove us and believed. Never again.
-
Kante is our only complete midfielder since Lampard-Essien-Ballack team. Some here are acting like he is Ramires with the ball. There are pair of more complete midfielders than him - Modrić, Pogba, Vidal and some few others, but that's it.
-
27 December: Doesn't sound like he didn't want him, really.
-
Spine of Costa-Hazard-Kante-Azpi-Courtois is great, I agree!
-
Despite Spurs game, I think he is one guy we should take risks for. If we will play 3-4-3 long term... Bring some giant CB in place of Cahill to compensate Cesars' lack of jumping ability (Van Dijk for example), maybe even put the tallest guy in the middle, and Luiz at the left CB, why not?
-
I'm still very optimistic, but if we win the title at the end of a season, it will be because of our remarkable and out-of-this-world fight, focus, spirit, etc brought by Conte and followed by players. NOT as a product of our insane team and player quality. And that is the hardest way - fighting every game for a win, most frequently till last minutes, being dominated in the middle of field in big games and still winning on counter attacks. From what I saw, we only dominated Man United in the middle, speaking about big teams. With Spurs in first game we were so-so and terrible until half time and Pedros' perfectly timed wonder-strike which gave us a lift; City dominated us totally, Arsenal and slightly Liverpool too (not with 3-4-3 though), and now Spurs slightly dominated. We lack technically gifted players in middle, our midfield just cannot cope with big boys and we cannot always rely on counter-attacks, because some teams know how to defend. I would kill for one player in mold of Dembele for our middle, from cheaper options. Of course Verratti, Vidal or some other world-class player will do, but even Dembele will be ok. In place of Matić, or even maaaybe Kante in some games, depends of who we bring. It would really improve our play and make all the things a lot easier. Upgrade on Alonso/Cahill or even Moses is needed, too, anyone of them. Right AM too, Pedro disappeared against Spurs, or anyone with big muscles, actually. And don't give me this "we don't need new players, let's wait until summer" crap. We are now having best chance in years to win a league, and we will need all help available. We won't have chance like this often, some of Manchesters, Liverpool or even Spurs could be world beaters next year. Time is now, let's win this shit! Also, I was totally for a new players even before this Spurs game, of course. They actually gave everyone of our fans, who thought that this team is even close to Drogba-Lampard-Terry-Cole-Čech team, a good reality-check. Hard work is great, fighting is great, but let's bring some quality reinforcements!
