Then I guess you are underrating Pogba and Herrera a bit. They are not Modrić and Isco, but are very good. Herrera got nice passes and decent touch, and no need to mention Pogba's ability. Another world compared to what we have.
-
Selling our second most important midfielder with a month to go in the market, to our direct rival. Money isn't even important. And anyone who says he is not good enough - well, he might just be for United. They have two really mobile technically good players in Pogba and Herrera, Nemanja will add good tactical and defensive approach. Matić - Herrera - Pogba really sounds good and balanced. It's wrong in any way I look it.
-
I have no satisfaction watching the game at all, especially if Morata's on left. Disgusting. Well deserved result. First of all - Moses and Fabregas out. Alarm is ringing, not just for the board, but for Conte's f**kin first team selection too.
-
He is also somewhat stronger. Alonso is tall, but not strong enough. Only thing same about them is defensive positioning/awareness.
-
I watched Sandro 2 or 3 times and it was all clear to me. You cannot be this good, and in Juve's first squad for years and not be in top 3. Offensive, defensive, dude have got everything. And when you look at the history, he played two great seasons at Juve, and two good seasons at Porto. He for sure isn't one season wonder. Mendy had only one great season, Walker maybe two very good ones. Nothing comparable with Sandro. We SHOULD pay 70 millions for Sandro, not a penny will we regret. EDIT: Why is he ALSO important: If we buy him, we don't need to add that much creativity in midfield. We can then set for more affordable midfielders if Matić leaves.
-
Two things I would like to see: 1. Luiz and Christensen playing together 2. Morata as a main striker, from 1st minute Bonus: Michy as a second striker, either on left or right.
-
I know, I just think Morata is too good of a striker to play out wide. Also taller, more dangerous in air, and as I already mentioned - better poacher. Michy is still young and raw so he should not care if Conte plays him even at the right, like when we had Anelka out right and Drogba central. Michy is also good with his left foot, and he played a lot of time as a second striker with Diego Costa the main one, so why not? Like this: ------------ Morata -------------- --------------------Michy--------- ---Hazard------------------------ ------------------------------------- -------------midfield--------------
-
Why it makes sense? First of all, Hazard will most likely occupy that space, so it's better for others not getting used to that. Second of all, we didn't bring 60 millions striker to play him out wide.
-
I said that IMO Michy and Morata could play together, but not in the blue moon I thought Michy would be main, and Morata second striker. Make Morata main striker, let him gain confidence, he is for sure more of a target man and "number 9" than Michy who is shorter and very agile. Expecting him to start next game as a main striker, at least getting one half.
-
Spot the difference in his movement now that Michy is off. Yes you can drift wide, but not the whole time like he did after coming in.
-
I'm sad because Morata isn't playing as striker. Don't want to see him in this winger position...
-
I know all that, I just think Chelsea got over the line with sending him home + apology, from club and the player himself. I'm sure that club would act like this if there was even no word "porra" ("fuck", which created mess in the first place). I would like to see what would happen if some more important player did the same thing. And you are right, I'm overreacting on this topic a bit, but I witnessed stuff like this in many other areas, not just football, and it's just not normal to me. EDIT: Not to mention that I've read in 100 places this: "Porra China" does not in any context mean "fuck China", nor is it offensive. It's bad PR, ok, but it could ruin player's career, sending him home like this, for something he didn't do. From what I understood it means like "Damn China". Or we are not going to take that into account either, because it's all bad PR and that's all that matters? I don't know really where are the limits of this. How far will we go?
-
This is so retarded. Forget about the money, those football players are miserable. Club suppressed him of a free speech, because, imagine, someone got offended. Yes, his comments were silly, but come on! There is no amount of money that could buy my freedom of expression. Turning players into robots. No wonder some guys like Lahm retired in his 32-33. Whole Europe is going it that disgusting direction, I guess our club is too.
-
Could be decent replacement for Matić as a squad player, if Matić leaves.
-
You can live with that, but I don't think he can. Why? When striker, especially this young, misses some of those "easy" chances, he could easily lose his head. It's never good for a striker, nor for a team, him to miss sitters.
-
He is so honest, in a very classy way. Distance from his family and board's transfer inactivity at the beginning of the transfer window made him reconsider his options, from what I understood, but was never on the verge of leaving. And that's ok. Seems to me that he gave the board some "ultimatums" - bring me Morata and other two players and I'll be satisfied. Our board responded well, they brought Morata and started talks with Ox. Good communication is a key, I'm sure he and the board could often together find good decisions - both parties want the best for the club and both are resonable enough.
-
Great Michy, really happy for this guy! As for Morata comparison... I think Michy is still too raw for that comparison. I've rarely seen him scoring one-on-ones, headers or I don't know, any poacher's goals. It seems more that he likes to create chances for himself, a lot more than converting what others have created. Seems like he need to work on converting those "easy", poacher and one-on-one chances. Morata, when he was played as main striker, WAS all that, at Juventus. And let's not forget that he is almost 10 cm taller, UCL proven, etc etc. It's not criticizing Michy, they are both very good, but Morata is currently level above. I also think that the two could play together, with Hazard just behind them.
-
I always have thought how we got nice character players in squad, and Costa always stood out from that. I see Morata a lot more like Hazard, like Azpi, normal and good. Pedro and Alonso seems likable, Matić and Cahill are ok guys, Kante is adorable, Fabregas is cool, and Luiz is a bit crazy, but in more positive way than negative. Moses more quiet but also cool. Costa was loved in dressing room, sure, but only because he was crayzee fun I think. I think Morata will get along better with other players. They could make one wonderful, healthy team, and time by time they will become great, big characters. Welcome, Alvaro!
-
Totally this. Young, Spanish, similar player characteristics.
-
So the club, Conte, Costa and his agent knew from January what's the situation about this guy. And after Conte sent him THAT message, he got surprised? Right... It now sounds to me like Conte only REMINDED him that he isn't in his plans for next season, via SMS. Costa wanted to lower his price, and he did it greatly, with the help of it.
-
You know, if this 58 mil pounds are true, Chelsea is actually the transfers prices "balancer". Bringing Kante for 35, Morata for 58, not spending too much and still winning major trophies, in this crazy times really puts some example for other clubs. Hope this number is true!
-
For every Kante there is one Morata. For every great player paid 35 millions, there is one maybe great player paid 70. It doesn't mean that Morata is worth it, but neither is Kante worth 35, or Alonso 23, right? I'm more than happy, let's just get it done!
-
You guys also need to realize this: When he was at Juventus, they didn't back him enough in transfer market, so eventually he left. But, in the times when transfer market was still normal! In this days you cannot get quality player for less than 45 millions. Our penny pinching? Nothing in comparison with the cheap transfers Juventus did in Conte's time. Be sure that Conte is aware of that, he said himself last year that "market is crazy" and that it's so hard to bring quality for normal price. This 2 years "extension" has nothing to do with that. He is just careful, our board is too.
-
It kinda makes sense. Board being realistic, Conte being realistic. If we eventually develop some great both-ways love with Conte, he can always pen an extension. If not, three years it is and let's make the best out of it. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk

Step by step, and we are on our third important signing, with month and a half left for 2 or 3 more. I would say - striker is a must, RWB is important. LWB less important, but we could use one (Alonso with Kenedy and Baba, both will stay if we don't bring another LWB I guess). We still can have an amazing window.
