  1. Exactly! He set it up perfectly. The game could have been won if we did some things better but honestly you can't expect to win everything. People sometimes forget that the other team has players that can win games too. The primary objective is not to drop points against them, and it was achieved. A win would have been a bonus but too risky at that point. Giving the opposition some respect is also totally understandable. If people don't recall, away at the Etihad last season Pellegrini and City were so full of themselves in the league after mauling so many sides with like 6 goals a game. They threw so many players forward in the opening minutes and expected us to just roll over too. We then proceeded to smash them and 1-0 was a poor reflection on how the actual game went. Hence, I don't think its just a cliche to give your opposition who happened to be champs last season some respect.
  2. Got to agree. I remember when Cole was injured for periods under Rafa and Bertrand did very well defensively. In fact I don't think we missed Cole at all when he was out. I doubt he can reach prime Cole-level LB but I think he can be a very decent choice. However, it seems that Mourinho doesn't rate him so I think it's best that he goes elsewhere for his own career.
  3. Beat the keeper with a nice long ranged attempt against Hellas Verona https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC-moVgDE2U#t=33 Btw how do you guys embed a video?
  4. Got to agree. But Ramires does have better legs though. I think Sami is marginally better in most other aspects. Also agree on Ki being super under-rated. He is a neat and tidy passer with good vision and control. Think he would do comfortably in a bigger club.
  5. Ironically he would suit our current attempt at a more offensive game as he is an aggressive CB. If only he sorted out his brain farts when he was here. But 50M is too good a deal to pass up imo.
  6. Happened the few times I did see him. The other was during the post season friendlies against City. It may be harsh since everybody develops differently but I don't really recall any other top keepers being that nervy when they were younger. Sorry if it sounds wrong btw I don't mean that he has no right to be nervous, but the way he plays does not really inspire confidence at all. Obviously I want our youngsters to do well, I just hope we don't put too high hopes on them just because they are our academy products.
  7. Yeah definitely. I think that is the main gripe against him. He has excellent dribbling, pace, work rate and shooting for me. But he doesn't seem to make full use of them often enough offensively. I'm not too sure about the happy part because that is hard to gauge but it seems like he is taking his stint at Chelsea as just another payday and not a chance to launch himself much further in his status as a player.
  8. Sorry but I don't think he would succeed as a top level keeper. Looks far too nervous to be one.
  9. His free kick technique seems to have improved tremendously imo. Most of them were really dangerous shots.
  10. I think it's good to mix it up but Schurrle is overdoing it.
  11. Let's hope that this turns out similar to the Fulham game where Andre suddenly turns into a different player
  12. Maybe Mou told him that he would be better than CR if he took the same number of shots
  13. Damn Andre's set pieces have been improving. But he's being far too selfish sometimes
  14. I agree with this. Currently its really a trade off between the 2 for me. Willian is crucial for games where we need more control over the midfield and the right flank. Schurrle is decent enough at tracking back but he gives far more end product. I really wish we could combine the 2 players together tbh. I feel that Willian has the technique but he doesn't have the best ideas for attacking, whereby Andre is the opposite. He has better ideas for what to do but he isn't as good as Willian in breezing past his marker or just maintaining possession of the ball
  15. Yeah they have done a splendid job. I believe Drogba made similar comments as well. I get the feeling that he wasn't pressing as hard due to injury too. I remember against Burnley he was running like mad just to pressure the keeper.
  16. What a free kick from Sanchez https://vine.co/v/O7jO7h9HMip
  17. I actually think that playing such a high tempo game like Dortmund's will negatively affect your players physically in a long season. I'm not sure whether it is solely on their style or a poor medical team or just rubbish luck tbh, but their injury list always seems to be stocked. Anyways I agree with how the team was initially set up, it's just that it was disappointing to not fully press our advantage against 10 men and subbing an old Drogs in. Also completely changing our approach is easier said than done. We've been very offensive for every game bar City so far, so you can see we are trying to implement it. I think our slow CBs are also holding back the change. If we had more Azpi type defenders who are comfortable stepping up, it would be easier to play more offensively. And does anyone else think he might put out a much stronger team than expected against Bolton? He seems to treat it very seriously.
  18. The problem right now is that he gets forward a bit too often and doesn't get back fast enough. I'm fine with him at RB and going forward just that he needs to find that balance. He is also sticks to Cahill a bit too much instead of closing down the winger. I too would prefer to keep him in the team just because of his set piece threat but if his offensive output doesn't match up to his defensive work we might need a change.
  19. That was brilliant by Leicester. What a start for them. If they keep this up they will definitely stay in the PL. I don't think it was a coincidence either that ManU became even shittier when Di Maria got subbed off. It looks like if you take him out, their team will start to look very average.
  20. LOL!! But I'm not sure Leicester can keep this up.
  21. I'm sure it is down to the type of shots he takes. Most are in the box and his technique is to smack it hard and low. Come to think of it I don't ever recall his shot flying high over the bar. But the only drawback of it is that it doesn't work as well from distance. I doubt he would ever score many wondergoals and curlers outside the box with it.
  22. To be fair every band has to keep changing in order to keep up with the times. Their change from Rattle & Hum to Achtung Baby was one of the best decisions they have ever made. I think their new album is a bit underwhelming but then again I have always considered U2 to be so much better live. Anyways I hope to see him as a nailed-on starter. He was one of the best players vs Schalke imo.
