That team we played today has such an impressive understanding of each other and what they're trying to do as a team (offensively in particular). We just seem like we're winging it most of the time. Not absolving Kepa from mistakes but he's least of our concerns. How about a stable back line in front of him? A decent LB? A striker who can score goals and hold the ball up?

Tammy is young. Tammy carrying a knock. etc etc. Just not good enough to be leading the line right now. Should be backup to a more capable striker.

It'd be nice if one window we identified a need, a player to solve it and were decisive about signing him. We come across as unprepared almost as if we're caught by surprise the transfer window is even open. Do we not have a scouting department watching players in other leagues, specifically players that are signable and would be a fit for the managers system? This one is even funnier since we fought to overturn the ban to ultimately do nothing. If we had brought in a CF or a LB in January I would've been happy. Shift Giroud or Alonso in the process. There's a wide margin between not overpaying for a player and being complete penny pinchers. Like in the scheme of things if we paid an extra 10-15M for Dembele and he helps us achieve CL that's money well spent. We had a need, missed the summer window and there's a January 'tax' of doing business. But we need CL football. Ok that's it for me on this. Big fixture tomorrow...come on you Blues!!!

Not trying to give you a hard time here but is 'coming close' good enough for this club? Age or not/injury or not he ain't performing at a £120k per week level if we're all being honest. And he's gonna have an uphill battle with the fans after coming thru the Academy and then trying to force a move to Bayern. To ultimately receive a fat new contract with little results to show for it. I hope he does come good I really do but right now he's miles away.

I try to be positive when I can and I really do believe we've got the framework of a strong club but man do we need some upgrades. Also...Pulisic is our most creative and intelligent player. When he's not out there we have no ideas. None.

Most clubs probably feel like winning a corner is an advantage (and it should be). We win one and it's the biggest waste of time all game...think the commentator said TWO goals all season from corners. Hell just start playing it short at this point what do we have to lose?

I was happy to see Kovacic getting a rest here but this game is screaming for him. Wow was that first half miserable...

He was the one guy I hoped got some rotation his effort level has been so high lately and a ton of important games in the immediate future.

Young player coming off an injury (not sure how long we have to keep saying that) but Pulisic is MILES better than him at the moment. Hope we didn't get bamboozled on this one.
