ANCELOTTI: BELLETTI COULD SOLVE PROBLEM Posted on: Tue 23 Feb 2010 Carlo Ancelotti is tipping Juliano Belletti to cover at left-back in what he believes will be a very even game against Inter at the San Siro. The Brazilian utility player has been out for a month with a knee injury, and has never before played down the left for Chelsea, but his manager has confidence that he can compensate for the absence of Yury Zhirkov and Ashley Cole on Wednesday night. 'Definitely it's a problem, we are missing two important players,' Ancelotti conceded. 'Belletti is back, he has been training all week and has been training well. We will definitely find a solution however Ashley Cole and Zhirkov are going to be missed.' Paulo Ferreira will also be missing as he is not registered for Champions League competition, meaning the left-back berth is likely to be between Belletti and Florent Malouda, who can also play a deeper role. (....) Chelseafc.com ----------- Let's hope for christ's sake that Belletti is going to slot in at left-back, not Malouda!!!

Stoch to be offered long-term contract

Let's hope he can match the level of the PL. Eredivisie is something different than the PL. But on the other hand, RVP did it at Arsenal, so, why not? -
I think any player who thinks he can tame Drogba is pretty naïve tbh xD. Only few managed, and that was more because of Drogba's lack of form than because they could keep him out of the game!
-
But it would be a nice bonus!!! Ofcourse, i would be glad if we get a result like that, due to the fact Italian opponents are pretty good at defending. On the other hand, i would be surprised if we have a good game against them; Liverpool (ffs) done the same thing last year and won pretty easy.

Where & when are our youngsters going to fit in?

The English under 21 squad? If Matic would develop into a new Ballack, i certainly wouldn't complain. Especialy because i find him already more promising than the level of Ballack! -
What's it with people only wanting to buy young players? If we want to buy him, the why should we have players like Kakuta? What's the use of that? I guess Kakuta is not 'just' a young player, but a very bright one. That would explain why we have put so much effort in keeping him. Not to take anything away from Pjanic, but we should look at wich young players we already have.

None of our players did an really outstanding job on that position. I think Joe Cole would be better of playing as a right winger than as a ACM, but his problem in general stays his lack of form at the moment. The form of players like Joe Cole is mostly based on their confidence. Once their flicks + little passes work out, they are beginning to play better and better. Let's hope Joe goes through such a development in the last months of the season! -
Pretty excited but also nervous about this tie. It's going to be a big clash between two European giants, not only want Chelsea to win, but also to play well and dominate them! That would give us a great boost of confidence for the second leg at home and the rest of the knockout stages.

About the Wolves game yesterday; i think we could have put on Sturridge or Borini. Anelka and Joe Cole again didn't really convince or played a big part in the game, again (although Joey had a couple of bright moments with his flicks and a nice pass to Anelka). I really don't see if Anelka plays like that, why sturridge or Borini shouldn't get a chance. -
It still hurts, but last year it got replaced by the semi's against Barca, that's still (more) fresh

Great stuff by Ancelotti ^^.

I already added this one at the forum videos .

Carlo himself said he doesn't feel pressure, because that's 'normal', so that shouldn't be the problem. Personally i think his argument for not playing youngsters is because of 'the experience' they lack. In a lot of interviews he conctantly reckons how important experience is for him.... -
I'm getting all sad of the idea we'd have to say goodbye to him

Well, the likes of Bruma, Kakuta & Borini don't really get a chance to show something spectacular. But we have to look at the future, in previous years Chelsea always bought replacements, but in the mean time we have some self-trained youngsters who could take over. And i certainly not expect that someone like Drogba gets kicked out of the starting eleven because of Borini, but at least we could give him some more time on the pitch. How are they ever going to learn anything about pressure etc if they don't play games (and i don't mean 2-5 minutes like Borini gets)? Why can Liverpool, Arsenal (maybe not a good example because it's more common there) & United do this, but we can't? I don't see why our youngsters have less quality than theirs. And they also get time on the pitch despite they have world class footballers in their team..... -
We have several players out on loan to premiership sides at the moment. This is a sign that our academy is producing some good talents. Even at Chelsea, we have the likes of Matic, Borini, Sturridge & Bruma, who regularly make the bench and/or are giving some playing time. But, looking at the fact that we have Ancelotti as coach, how long is it going to take before they are going to fit in into the first team? At Milan he was used to fielding players way over their thirties, so when he would use some of our youngsters? A list of players who could/should be replaced by youngsters next season imo: 1. Beletti 2. Deco 3. Kalou 4. Ballack 5. Ferreira 6. Joe Cole (if he doesn't get a new contract, instead of buying someone new...)
-
Anyone saw him play? Heard from someone he had a good game against Leicester i believe...?
-
Mmm, let's not forget our lead only is 1 point at the moment, and we're getting close to the end of the season. I could understand why Ancelotti doesn't want to give too much playing time to the youngsters, they don't have the experience and consistency that you'll need to decide games. Nevertheless, it's a little bit disappointing if you look at how CA began the season with the youngsters...

FA Cup here we come. Bad first half, compensated that in second!

Hope Borini Scoores

Perfect technical header! Vry good cross by ferreira also . Game over!

That says enough about his form
