This was his best run, and he really looked like a killer in that period. But after that this period he didn't score so much anymore. Many reasons for this, mainly because he was the only threat we had in attack so every team did double marking on him. Second thing is, I felt he was a little bit "tired" of carrying the team solely for so long, in the end he also had some injuries. 17 goals total, 14 in the competition, not bad but he can improve This season he missed some big chances but I think he will improve his finishing, he surely has it in him to score goals.

I actually expected more minutes for him, especially because he was bought by Mourinho himself and had a full preseason. He only started 2 games in 17 matches for us and some late sub appearances. Even Ake and Zouma are in front of him in minutes and they are considered as ''the second line'' by Mourinho. At the end of last season, he had some reasonable/good games (Arsenal, Stoke, Swansea) where he looked promising. But right now he is very low in the pecking order, Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Schurrle, Remy (as winger), Ramires (as winger) are all in front of him. In the coming period we'll have a schedule full of games, if he doesn't get more games than Derby and maybe Sporting (when we are already qualified) he may leave in January. This will free up a non-HG spot where we can get a player we really need. And we can fill his position with one of the youth players, more minutes for Boga/Baker for example.

Don't think this swap will happen. Think Schurrle is too proud to return to Germany after only 1,5 years. The media will label him as "a Chelsea flop". He will rather sit on the bench till another foreign club bid for him than returning to Germany. If we get Reus, I think it's Salah who will make space for him. Not that I don't like Salah but it's just he doesn't get enough chances.
