  1. On the backs of Suarez and Sturridge. They made 55 of the 110 goals scored that season. Not saying the goals wouldn't have existed without them. Someone else could have scored some, but I don't think they're anywhere near title contention without them.
  2. To be honest, I'm enjoying this season. Not results-wise obviously, but it gets boring when you go into every match thinking you're going to win. The uncertainty and controversy is making this season highly entertaining.
  3. On the bright side, Arsenal lost to Sheffield Wednesday. At least we lost to a Premier League side.
  4. Mikel has been reliable for the most part, and Ramires is sure to give it all (despite his technical misgivings)
  5. BUT, with everything going so bad, I could see really trying to win this one, because it would be our first elimination from a contest. It's a little like you can be told that things aren't going well and you say, "yeah, I know," but it's when the reality really hits you that things seem a lot worse.
  6. I'm sure Roberto Di Matteo had a lot of passion for Chelsea.
  7. You do understand that the WHOLE ball has to cross the line right? And you do see that the WHOLE ball didn't cross the line? How anyone can see the shot and still think it's a goal is what baffles me.
  8. Apparently a Spurs supporter had a radio that was "accidentally" on the Bournemouth PA frequency and his voice went over the whole stadium.
  9. I did. I thought it was completely justifiable to say we did what needed to be done in the second half of the season and that these players knew how to perform under pressure. We may not have lit the league on fire, but the players knew what needed to be done and got it done. We didn't sign anyone of outstanding value, but we didn't get markedly worse over the summer.
  10. If they stop supporting Chelsea because of this, I would rather them not support. Let them go to another club. But, I agree that the club is bigger than the manager. Managers rarely do what Ferguson did, because managers are rarely as good as Ferguson was. There usually comes a time when it's best for the manager and the club to separate. Chelsea will always be there, but Mourinho won't. The club will exist long after Mourinho is gone.
  11. Because it's been a few months compared to a few years of good play. Everyone knows he's still good, it's just not happening right now. A change of scenery can do wonders for that. He'd also have better attackers to play around instead of being solely relied on for creativity. There was a point earlier in the match where he went from the right touchline to the left touchline by weaving and passing off to other players, but no one else was doing anything to help him out, so it ended up going back to the defense. I think we need to keep him around. He'll improve his form and we need him in attack. I just think he's getting tired of being muscled and fouled off the ball every time he takes a touch and not having proper attacking support.
  12. La Liga is less physical, allowing him more freedom and movement. Hazard-Bale-Ronaldo would be horrible for defenses everywhere.
  13. He's surely going to get the stadium ban after being sent off. If the club are considering sacking him, I say wait and see how the team looks without him for a full match and make a decision.
  14. Sure, they didn't produce much on the pitch, but don't underestimate the leadership that they may have provided. There isn't anyone in the locker room currently stepping up to a leader position. Considering Terry is still there, that's worrying to me.
  15. I think he's leaving at the end of the season, regardless of managers. It's the league
  16. Was not a goal, the ball didn't cross completely. Look at the technology
  17. Well, Mourinho will probably serve his stadium ban next week. No way he stays silent
  18. IMO, this is where we've been strongest in the past. If they don't show the fight in a London, these are no real Chelsea players.
  19. Started by a lame foul by Fabregas
  20. He probably wants to move to Tottenham
  21. I get the whole "not playing pretty football" since January, but we were far from shit in the second half of the season. We only dropped 3 more points in the second half than the first half. We may have played a style that looked better, but we weren't much worse in terms of results.
  22. That's how I remember it. Jose didn't like his lack of defensive effort, which hasn't gotten better at United. He said that, until Mata put in more effort, he wasn't going to play.
