  1. Liverpool didn't give him much experience in playing in the Champions League.
  2. I'm choosing to look at it from the Juve perspective. They're champions doing horribly in their league, but look pretty good in Europe.
  3. PSV up 2-1 Where do you all stand on the English teams v. Make fun of your rivals?
  4. Defender got the ball. It was the trailing leg that injured Shaw.
  5. And the man who injures shaw is the one who scores the equalizer
  6. Looks like Luke Shaw's lower leg snapped. He could be done for the season.
  7. It's so great to have Champions League again. Hopefully we'll get to enjoy it ourselves for a while...
  8. We all have fond memories of Jose and we want him to be successful here for a long time, but that's not what history tells us is going to happen. If we want a manager that will be here for a decade and be a Ferguson-type manager, that's not going to be Mourinho, no matter what he says.
  9. If we never got better and played this way the whole season, we could challenge Manchester City! City were relegated a year after winning the league in the 1930s.
  10. His history is all well and good. I don't hold any Chelsea manager in higher regard than Mourinho, but you can't cover your eyes and ears to what is going on this season because of what he has brought in the past. He doesn't get immunity from criticism.
  11. Newcastle away has been troublesome when we were good. I'm worried about how it would be if we're bad. West Ham thrashed Liverpool an have been a bit of trouble in the past. With our current form, I can see 6 points from those 4. I'm expecting anywhere between 3-7. What point total is so low that we drop further into crisis?
  12. I say that every time I play Hazard and Costa.
  13. I saw plenty of "Drogba is past his time. We need to look elsewhere," "Terry is too old, we need to find a new defender," and "Cech is slipping. Time to bring Courtois back".
  14. I wouldn't say useless. They were very useful for Everton in Naismith's first goal.
  15. This board gets funnier every week. Calling for Mourinho's head isn't being plastic. It's being quick to judgment, but it's not plastic. Personally, I don't want a revolving door on the touchline, but there comes a time when you have to look at what is going on and figure out who is/are at fault. A lot of it is on the players on the pitch, but Mourinho is responsible for a lot of how the team plays/thinks. We've seen how these players can perform at their best, and it's a big coincidence that they all turn off at the exact same time. That's why I'm blaming Mourinho for a lot of this. BUT, for me, the sack isn't reasonable during the season, unless things get dire halfway through the season. Not out of Europe dire, relegation battle dire. That's why I don't think he should be sacked this season. But, if there's a manager out there that wants to come to Chelsea in the summer, and Jose looks like he doesn't want to stay/doesn't want to improve, we can't sit here and throw our full support to a manager that isn't doing his job. Being mad/frustrated we're not winning isn't being plastic. It's expecting a top team to play like a top team. That's not unreasonable. Should we all just sit complacently while this team embarrasses themselves every weekend just because it's better than it used to be? Chelsea got to the level it is because of aspirations. Once you kill the aspirations, you lose everything you built.
  16. You could certainly look at it that way, or you could look at it like this: Tel Aviv: Personally, I think we'll win, but if they still have an inflated sense of themselves, they could play flat and draw. Arsenal: Haven't been impressive, but are better than we are now. They got a win over us and things have only gotten worse for us. I think we'll lose this. Walsall: Is a should win, but if we run out a mainly sub/reserve team, I could see them playing up, us playing down and them shocking us. It's not like it hasn't happened to us before. Newcastle: I'm always worried about playing up there and count it as at least a draw. No doubt, this is an important run of matches, with a combination of a quality team, two teams we "should" beat, and a team that is tricky.
  17. It was a good day to triple captain him in my fantasy premier league.
  18. There's also a beauty in making the stadium the same same shape as it used to be. As far as naming rights go, it'll depend on the sponsor for me. The Etihad sounds better than City of Manchester Stadium, but if it's a bad sponsor name, people will still call it the Bridge
  19. I'd prefer to not have perfect conditions every match.
  20. I'd be 100% for getting a half-Indonesian
  21. Falcao: A better defender than Ivanovic
