What’s going on with our FOS news? It’s been so quiet lately, and the league’s starting in just a couple of days. And what happens if the season kicks off and we still haven’t closed the sponsor deal?
-
But Neto can also play LW, and he’s more useful and reliable when our LW needs to have a great work rate to cover the opponent’s fullback, like we saw against PSG. Atleast, do they have a good work rate actually?
-
Is Guehi not just an average CB? We’ll be stuck with another average CB in just a couple of months. Is he even better than Hato, Tosin, or possibly Fofana if he can stay fit and play LCB? Plus, we still have a really good potential player in Achempaong and Anselmino, kids I’m genuinely excited about and really want to see if they given enough chance
-
We probably outplayed them, but we were still poor in many areas, not just lacking clinical finishing, but also not as threatening as we were when we faced PSG a few days ago And when we go up against other big teams last season, we tend to play even worse. Hopefully, we can manage it better in the upcoming season

Club World Cup Final 2025 - Chelsea 3-0 PSG

The most surprising thing, not a complaint though, is that it actually worked in crucial game like this. But I'm really curious, because I've never been a fan of Reece James playing in midfield. It's not uncommon for us to look weak and poor when he plays there. Is there something about how PSG set up their midfield? Can someone elaborate on why it actually worked so well in this game? just found this -
Just saw this and thought, wow, he is much better than Reece James here. James playing there looks really, really atrocious. He is poor, unathletic, clueless, doesn’t contribute well enough to ball progression going forward, and can’t cover well because he seems slow in that position. He just gives us casual, slow long passes, without enough dynamic movement which makes our setup look horrible. Meanwhile, Acheampong does everything our inverted wing-back should do: he’s energetic, athletic, drives the ball forward, speeds up the tempo, and covers well. He should play ahead of James if Maresca uses an inverted wing-back. Acheampong potentially doing much better.
-
Something like PSG, you mean? But Maresca said he’s trying to emulate Luis Enrique’s work at PSG, in his own "small way." Is there any truth to that? I really remember him saying that. But our current play style doesn’t reflect that at all — is there even any indication of that? or is he just bullshitting us “Luis Enrique has built a spectacular PSG; in my own small way at Chelsea, I try to do the same. The Champions League final showcased the dominance of a young team, capable of great technical plays delivered at an infernal pace — full of energy, running, pressing, and offensive talent.”
-
In here, he was up against some already organized defense, rather than mostly facing counter-attacking situations only
-
Why do people compare Gittens to Madueke? The way Gittens plays—his position, instincts, and what he does with the ball—is really different from Madueke's. If he were white, people would probably compare him to someone else. It would probably make more sense to compare him to Mudryk
-
I have big doubts about him, but Kudus actually looks brilliant here — though it's a compilation from last season (2023/2024), which can be misleading regarding his current form and only shows his good moment. He seems like the opposite of Sancho — He offers directness, bursts of pace, power, strength, and the ability to shoot. He's a great ball carrier who wants to beat defenders something that we really need At the very least, compare him to Madueke — I prefer Kudus. Who knows maybe he still has something to unleash as a player

I don't get it. Is there a way to bypass the obligation clause by paying a significant fee? Is it like a penalty fee? And is it a relatively large amount of money, like 20-35% of his agreed price?
-
What happened to him here? Maresca actually rated him highly as a skillful player. Maresca himself said that Palmer and Félix are the types of players fans come to watch The club and Maresca agreed to buy him permanently for such a high fee with a contract until 2030. Does he need to be offloaded (to gain game time) because there's only one spot for him? And he has to compete directly with Palmer?
-
I'm still curious. He looks amazing in some YouTube videos, but if he's actually that great, why did he lose his starting spot at Napoli, and why doesn't Conte rate him that highly?
-
is he playing well? is he playing well because we face relatively weak side or he playing diferent role in this match than our usual setup?
-
I have a lot of criticism about his recent performances. But what I really hope is that Maresca will be ruthless with him. Drop him if necessary, if he continues to perform like that. If Maresca struggles, need too much adjustment or need much longer time, only to integrate Enzo when he’s positioned higher up, he should just put him deeper. His display yesterday was so poor. Even his passing, which is one of his best attributes, was trully poor. Combining with his lack of mobility, lack of aggression, minimal contribution to the attack, and inability to do much in tight spaces or higher up the pitch, his performance was truly abysmal. Something need to change
-
it's actually very good to be ruthless, to know exactly what kind type of player that you want to keep but genuinely curious, is it common to say things publicly, this player a,b,c are train apart from others? aren't there are some better way to explain, it makes the club and also the manager like treat those player with no respect i mean you can add things like, we already talk one by one, in a positive way, i know its hard but we want the best for them aswell, we're trying to find the best possible way, etc those extra detail is important sometimes
-
is he really comfortable to play as LW? because this is the position where i think he will mostly play, if he actually come here And can we offload both sterling and mudryk in the same window? would be ideal but really unrealistic
-
but just imagine having felix on sterling spot, i still prefer sterling over pedro neto, mudryk, jackson or any other player for LW Felix could offer some solution to break tough defense setup than any other player, bar palmer but this one seems too much and some player will not get enough minutes jackson/guiu felix/neto/sterling - nkunku/palmer/felix/ palmer/neto/madueke

enlighten me, did Maresca use Caicedo as a solo 6 in City's match? It was a truly atrocious performance from him. I hope Maresca never uses Caicedo in that role again, but I'm afraid he will keep trying. He looks poor as a DM, don't ask him to fill that role. What worries me more is that Caicedo doesn't even have good positional play. He still has very poor awareness. He can't shield the critical area in the center of the pitch, and he makes amateurish mistakes under slight pressure. It's sad to see. In this current setup, Lavia is much, much better than Caicedo. While Lavia looks very capable as DM, Caicedo seems too amateurish to play this role
-
Sadly, that's sometimes exactly what happens to us. Not when Poch and the team are consistently delivering good performances and climbing up the table, but when we go through a bad period and the players are constantly underperforming. Sometimes, it feels exactly like that.
-
When will they be back? Will they not be fit until next year?
-
I hope someone on the coaching staff really has this opinion in mind and pushes this idea really hard on Pochettino. Because it seems poch really believed on it Meanwhile, some of us, it's really obvious that these things need to be questioned regarding how Pochettino sets up our team. If Pochettino keeps doing this, I just don't see things getting better. These poor and embarrassing results keep happening, and his time here could be far shorter than we hope for. It's not solely because the players are still raw, inconsistent, and lacking confidence. Some of Pochettino's ideas about how he sets up the team are truly mind-boggling. I really don't understand some of his choices. I really don't understand why he keep making our team very one dimensional, making our right side as the only possible sources of creating chances. It's like he disabled our offensive aspect from our left area, by making colwill as our lcb, lb, wb or whatever his role is. And isolated whoever our forward in the left side It makes us really depending on sterling, which is like inviting our own trouble, since sterling himself not someone dependable that much, his inconsistent and his decision making is really hot and cold. It's like pochettino think we have someone like kdb, prime hazard or silva. But actually we have someone who has consistency and fotballing brain issue ala sterling
-
Just want to see, finally poch drop 3 at the back, and put actual LB on the left. Changing to 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 or any other tweak in our formation doesn't guarantee immediate improvement, but by keep insisting colwill to play as our leftback, make our left side poorly in supporting attack and make enzo playing like isolated player in advanced position, just asking for the same problem from the last match.
-
I don't understand what Pochettino is trying to do with Enzo since he has moved Enzo's position and role in the last 2-3 matches. It has made Enzo's and everyone's performance much worse. Having an idea or offering a different solution is one thing, but while continually seeing that it doesn't work at all and not providing enough support to make it work, and insisting on it, is like asking for trouble. Right now, Enzo is playing in a really high or too advanced position, which only makes him play in a strange way. He plays like he's chasing shadows, appears insignificant, isolated, and also doesn't receive enough runs or any other necessary support around him. And after all this midfielder buying, our best midfield performance still occurs when we play Enzo-Gallagher in the pivot. This doesn't necessarily mean Ugo played poorly today; actually, for me, he is decent and playing quite well. But it seems so bizarre and very unfortunate after we acquired Caicedo, Ugo, and Lavia. Pochettino actually seems to have a different (or weird) idea about how he sets up our team, and for now, it seems to make our midfield play much worse, despite spending around 170-200 million in total to get those three midfielders.
