Nike got a reaction from MichaelDance in 🇨🇲 Samuel Eto'o
Eto is such a terrific striker...
Surprise bigger teams, including Chelsea didn't want him on a short term deal.

Nike got a reaction from Mustafa in 🇧🇪 Eden Hazard
Hazard is not meant to be a player like rambo, willian or oscar.
His body is meant for short speed bursts and brilliant dribbling ability and hold up play. Jose is asking him to do something that will not last long term with hazard.
Guys like hazard, cr7, messi are not to be stamina guys where they can run the length of the field and play both ways and be effective.
Messi did it short term, but definitely not after the Pep era. I find it difficult to believe hazard will as well long term.

I think Luiz would of done a ton better on this team than Cahill.

Nike reacted to Tomo in 🏴 Gary Cahill
He's not got the best technical ability compared to say Kalas, but in terms of pure defending, he is really really good.
Lukaku went wrong by trying to focus on his weakness too much (technical ability) and with it neglected his strength's a bit. The complete opposite to say Bale who accepted his technical limitations and focused on what he was great at, Lukaku should have done the same from the get go.

Nike reacted to LDN Blue in 🏴 Gary Cahill
Hmm.. We just need to see more of him to be honest. I'd like him to get a run alongside Terry so he can work on positioning, I'd be very nervous if he was paired with Cahill instead.
I kind of feel we will incur a CB crisis. Ivanovic doesn't look like playing CB any time soon, we know about Cahill and Terry could pack up soon enough. Zouma is cover, but we don't know about the future of Kalas (if he's even ready!). We're going to need to sign at least 2 competent, world class, CBs soon enough.

Nike reacted to LDN Blue in 🏴 John Terry
Agreed, I think a two-year extension isn't unreasonable. He seems like he would be respectful of Mourinho if he was to be benched in that time, if he recognised there was better talent ahead of him. Zouma and Cahill aren't ready. Even if Varane came, I'd still want Terry to mentor him..
He doesn't seem like he'd complain a la Lampard under AvB

Nike got a reaction from stroey in 🇪🇸 Cesc Fàbregas
Cesc is still Chelsea best player up to this point this season.
You can play him as a n10 and maybe give Matic cesc role and allow rambo to play destroyer, but it seems rambo is hurt to a degree where jose doesnt play him... However, I think cesc would struggle under Jose and the n10 role. But, I guess we have to wait and see.

Nike reacted to robsblubot in 🏴 Gary Cahill
There is no meltdown as some of us just don't expect wc performances from Cahill.
However, I also remember a few of us warning that cahill would be more exposed if we changed our style of play, which we did with fabregas in cm.
Unsurprisingly tbh, John terry looks less bothered by the additional exposure this season.

Nike reacted to DYC. in 🏴 Gary Cahill
Blasphemy. Carvalho is the best defender I've seen at this club, looking purely at defensive abilities. For some weird reason, he doesn't quite get the recognition he deserves. Out of Carvalho, Terry, Gallas, Alex and Cahill, I rate Cahill the least.
Agree with Robguima, these mistakes don't surprise me. I don't rate him highly and that's why I don't blame him. He gives his all but he's simply limited.
So yeah, he made a mistake but he's not to blame for the loss.

Nike reacted to robsblubot in 🇳🇬 Mikel John Obi
Once again people will say correlation does not determine causation. However, at some point one, perhaps the manager, is bound to start asking whether there is causation between our results and whether Mikel plays or not.
Like I wrote on the other thread, he did his things well enough, but I just don't think much of the things he can do. When he plays we lack, tremendously, the stuff Matic can, and mikel cannot do.
Mikel is never tight market because he's not a threat. They will only going to challenge him if they think they can regain possession. He doesn't contribute in the build up play and lacks movement (not enough pace); our AMs will certainly get less service with Mikel on the pitch. And because Mikel is never tight marked, that leaves more defenders to mark them. We already have a CB (Cahill) who cannot hit a long ball to save his life, and with Mikel our attackers will always struggle.
Let me exemplify my point: we were chasing the game down by a goal. Mikel receives a pass from Fabregas in the center of the pitch. He has no opponent near him and instead of turning and making a run to join the attack, which is what Matic would've done, he quickly and needlessly squares it right back to Fabregas (pass completion check! ). Even the announcer was saying, "way too many touches - too slow." He plays like Cahill in possession, but Mikel is a midfielder.
If you cannot see the enormous difference in quality between Mikel and Matic, then I guess we should just agree to disagree.

Kos is argubly the best CB in the EPL and under Jose and in Chelsea, he would sky rocket in status in the world...

Nike reacted to The Skipper in 🏴 Gary Cahill
That's only because of the reckless system Arsenal play, their CBs are exposed all the time and Koscielny is forced to make these sort of challenges in the box all the time. When he has Mertesacker as a partner as well who practically has no pace, he has to cover that up most times by being the cover defender and that usually means he's the one making last ditch tackles. As said before, due to the volume and amount of times they both get exposed, it's kind of inevitable.
Koscielny would be much better here at CFC under Jose, he's better than Cahill in almost everything for me.

Nike got a reaction from Peace. in 🇩🇪 André Schürrle
I think this is the confusion with Oscar... When Oscar was the key under menenes, oscar was brazil's best player... However, after scolari took over, neymar become the best player. Im pretty sure a lot of people would say the team under Menedez looked better with oscar under the helm vs neymar and scolari.
At chelsea, oscar was rarely given a true free role for the team. Oscar versatility and tenacity might of been his downfall. The fact he could press like a dog, tackle from the n10 position and track back, might of gave reason for the coach to use him that way, so chelsea would be more balanced and allow eden the free role...
Having the free role is really significant in terms of stats. Perfect example is ozil and mata. Once they were shifted wide, they were never as good as their previous stats claimed (I still think ozil the best n10 along with silva). Eden did not get a free role with wilmots and belgium, therefore he was completely irrelevant in the world cup. Was it really the fact hazard was not good or the fact wilmots made the team that way and shifted towards the cms instead (KDB)?
