IMO Suarez is best and then Aguero. Then Benzema, Costa and Lewa, not in that order tho.
The football today is full of so called 'top' strikers, but most of them are flukes.
From Falcao who never proved himself at top club, Cavani who still lives on glory of his Napoli days but never managed to perform at top club. Also Higuain, Soldado, Negredo, Rooney,...all somehow hailed in past and worth 30m plus but neither of them ever did their job.
Where are the times when you had Drogba, Raul, RvN, Trezeguet, Del Piero, Ronaldo, David Villa, Kluivert, and many many more. Many even played on top at same time.
Now there is a bunch of wannabe top strikers ala Cavani or Falcao who achieved fuck all. Played for decent teams but never for top teams or CL. While Falcao was a beast in his time, he will never be in same category as RvN or Raul etc for me.
In these days, Im happy that there are at least Suarez who I believe is the only pure top consistent striker atm and partly Aguero.

I'm more worried about players like Ramires who can't pass a ball than Falcao.

Listen to yourself. The ballon D'or is an individual award. We pay Hazard's wages to win us big TEAM trophies not to win the ballon d'Or. If he wins it, i'll be very happy for him but the mere fact he plays for an English club and not the two big Spanish ones puts him in a disadvantaged position. Hazard, like every incredibly talented young player from that side of the globe dreams of winning the silly award. He's seen some of his favourite players like Zidane win it in the past and will like to win it as well. But the award has since lost it's value when it was taking from France Football and players started voting for their friends. Henry couldn't win it because UEFA hate England/English football. That's Thierry freaking Henry. That's when I realized being a great player is not enough to win the farcical award. It's even worse now that it's merged with FIFA and in this Ronaldo/Messi era.
It's also very political. Have you seen the way they campaign for it in Spain? One Madrid player comes out and says "Ronaldo is the best player in the world", then next day a Barca player comes out and says "Messi is not from this planet". You think that's coincidental? Or Madrid and Ancelotti writing letters to UEFA complaining about Platini offering an opinion on who should win it? I don't want that shit near my club and I don't think it's in the spirit of football. Ballon D'or is bad for football. Mourinho said so himself. I don't want that shit anywhere near my club.
More to the point, why should Hazard be measured by a dream that he has? That's absurd logic. It has nothing to do with nothing and only devalues the quality of the comments. It's a strange comment to make especially as Hazard has been amazing all season and it's only an individual award that does nothing for Chelsea. But type whatever suits you, I guess.

I can't for the life of me understand how a player can play in the pivot, lead tackles won in some of our matches and still be labeled as someone who can't do the same job Oscar or Willian do defensively.
Maybe they press better than him - as if our system was based that much on press to start with. There was a time this season that yes, we were a pressing machine, not as of late though, but I wouldn't call either a beast and I don't see how much inferior defensively Cesc is to any of them. If he is, it's slightly imo, something we can totally overcome.

The consistency for me is his Swansea performance everyweek, even when he didnt score, he was amazing and involved in all our attacking play /goals. That is my expectation, hazard is among the players who don't have huge stats but when you watch any match they play you'll see their value. I thought you were insisting on him playing like bale that's why I replied your previous post.

The fact that people kind off forget how good Kagawa was when he was at Dortmund makes you realize how fast football is. Don't want to get extensively into the debate, but if we still had Mata, I would have traded for Kagawa.
It's hilarious that people think Mata's light years ahead of Shinji and Silva...

as if he didn't fuck up the trust of the staff and fans at this club.
He can go to hell for all I care. He's full of shit and someone said that it would took us longer to say shit about him that he'd say about us.
And yeah, I'm not holding back at all.
Rom, I respect dearly my elders, but sweetie, he didn't waste one sec to badmouth us and the club... I guess you may have been wrong about him.

Costa will want to be top dog, he's the alpha male.. I can only cringe at the idea of Drogba trying to 'mentor' him. This is a time for NEW leaders, a new era.. not going back into the past to find Lukaku a cheerleader.

Mata was a fantastic final ball passer but Matas main problem was that he couldn't keep the ball under any slight pressure. Remember how he needed hazard and Oscar to rotate with him so he doesn't have a marker closing him down and he quickly released the ball to someone when rushed because he rarely could get around his man due to poor physique.
Even ozil who we think is weak physically is by far better than Mata in protecting the ball in his possession under pressure. Because he had more acceleration and strength.
In fabregas case he has what Mata doesn't which is more all round play. He can come deep and spray passes like sneider, he has better strength to hold unto the ball if yaya rushes at him(this Mata can't do and we know ) just like silva uses his body to shield the ball and not lose possession. And fabregas is still better in throughpasses than Mata IMO. Mata is no slouch in passing but fabregas is just better. Fabregas used to dribble when he was at arsenal, but I don't know if he can do it again or he was forced by Barcelona system not to dribble.

I saw numerous comments raising the question as to how would Fabregas fit in a Mourinho's team if Juan Mata (and to a lesser extent de Bruyne) could not. It is to misunderstand what was the situation with Mata.
Mourinho does not have solely work-rate warriors in his teams, that is not true. At Inter and Madrid, he had Sneijder and Ozil (whom he described as the best n°10 if I remind correctly) as key players — both not exactly being great contributors to the defense, to say the least (Ozil having even stamina problems...).
Despite his small size, Sneijder is quite a tenacious and powerful player, and is a good, nay very good, dribbler. As for Ozil, despite being quite physically light, he is a great dribbler, has some pace and speed. The two of them are able to sustain a high-paced and intensive game, because they have the physical and technical attributes. And more importantly, they can dictate the game of their team under more or less any situation because they can, among other things, get away from their opponent because of the physical and/or technical abilities they have.
On the other hand, Juan Mata has no dribbling ability. He has no pace, no speed, no acceleration. He neither can out-muscled his opponent as he is physically pretty weak. I will not even talk about his ability at headers. And finally, he has no right foot. — notice how I have not even mentionned the defensive side of the game — Basically, Mata has a very good ability to pick up passes with his left foot (especially on set-pieces situation), a very good final ball and a decent eyes for goals. Because of that, he disappears immediately when the game becomes physically strong or/and high-paced. And more importantly, as SeB demonstrated it in the past, he cannot retain possession and thus he quickly passes the ball ; which will always lead to accelerate the game — as matter of a fact, he is not suited to be the player dictating the game.
In order to maximize his strengths, and to nullify his weaknesses (which are many), you have to put him in the center of the team and to give him a free pass. And unfortunately, for him, he is simply not good enough to be given such a role in a team with our ambitions.
That is why Juan Mata has been sold. Had he been a complete player (hello Lukaku ), and simply put, had he been a better player, he would have been kept, regardless of his inability to participate to the defense.
Now, is Fabregas a Mata, or a Sneijder/Özil ? He is not very fast, but he still remains decent in that regard. He is a very good dribbler. Physically decent. And because he is an excellent player, he is able to play serveral positions (in the pivot, as a n°10, a n°8, on the wings, as a false nine). If anything, he is (or rather will be) Mourinho's Chelsea Ozil/Sneijder ; the comparisons with Mata stop at the fact that they are both spanish, at that is all.
Anyway, it is pretty obvious as to why Fabregas and not Mata, without taking into account the defensive side ! Anyway, it is pretty obvious as to why Fabregas and not Mata, without taking into account the defensive side ! Speaking of it, Fabregas has not the quality of Oscar nor Willian, but he is decent, nothing more, nothing less.. Barça fans can say what they want... as the saying goes in French "when you no longer want of your dog, you say he has the rabies" (at the exception of last year, I have nearly watched all of his games at Barça...).

thedrog108 reacted to Peace. in 🇧🇪 Romelu Lukaku
You are right in what you are saying. Keeping Lukaku in this situation, does not necessarily consist in being a "betterment" for the club, at all ; and it could be quite the contrary.
When a player's head is off, then it is pretty much a lost cause. It takes a player to be an excellent professional in order to give near 100% in this kind of context ; and he will never 100%, consciously or not.
Now, these past three seasons, we have witnessed how much Lukaku is professional ; and humble. Firstly he vividly criticized André Villas-Boas for not playing — it is classy to shot on a dead man walking... And to be honest, in regards of the situation, giving Lukaku playing-time was certainly one of the last priorities at that time (especially since he was absolutely dreadful when playing). Then, when having to face to competition of the Wonder-Horse and the 45 years-old Eto'o — people like to include Ba, but the truth is that he would have been sold or loaned, had Lukaku stayed —, he opted for the easy way and to go out on loan. Finally, he told the world that "clubs are interested in me", and pretentiously "Chelsea know my point of view".
How it will fare when he will realise that the complete striker that he is will be the second choice, at best, by a fine margin, and will have to fight for game time against the Wonder-Horse, the one and only Ladyboy ?
Mourinho seeks from each of his players to give everything they have. I say Mourinho, but it is how modern football works. It happens that Lukaku does not really take part to the collective effort of his team-mate ; every time I saw him play, he was just strolling around the pitch awaiting for someone to put him through the goal. This kind of attitude does not go well with the ambitions we have.
So basically, we have on our hands a player : that does not really intend to fight for his place and who is eyeing for a move away from us ; that as the tendency to bitch when he is not pampered and denied the starting position ; that seems to bigger himself and feels he is as big as the club, as he pretentiously said "Chelsea knows my point of view" (who the hell does he thinks he is to say such a thing ?) ; that does feel like working hard for the team.
When you put all these variables all together, it seems more likely that keeping him will result as having a dead weight than having a "betterment" for our squad.

thedrog108 reacted to DavidEU in 🇧🇷 Filipe Luís
On 16 July 2014, Chelsea and Atlético Madrid agreed a fee of £15.8 million for the transfer of Filipe Luís, subject to personal terms. The player signed a three-year contract, on 18 July 2014. He said: "This move is a dream come true for me. I now have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, and also in the Premier League. Im very happy and looking forward to getting started and giving my best for the team during the coming seasons".
Filipe Luís made his debut in a pre-season friendly against Wolfsberger AC, on 23 July 2014. His squad number was confirmed as 3, replacing Ashley Cole who moved to AS Roma soon before Filipe Luís' arrival. In Chelsea's first match of the league season, away to Burnley, Filipe Luís was an unused substitute with César Azpilicueta playing at left back. He expressed that he was content to be second choice behind Azpilicueta if Chelsea were playing well, comparing his situation to the team's experienced goalkeeper Petr Čech who had been benched for Thibaut Courtois.
Filipe Luís made his debut in Chelsea's third league match, playing the last 7 minutes of a 63 win at Everton in place of Eden Hazard on 30 August. He started for the first time on 17 September, playing the entirety of a 11 home draw against Schalke 04 in Chelsea's first game of the Champions League group stage. Filipe Luís made his first league appearance in six weeks on 18 October, brought on by José Mourinho after Azpilicueta had been sent off in the first half at Crystal Palace; Chelsea went on to win 21. With Azpilicueta suspended, Filipe Luis started a Premier League match for the first time eight days later, a 11 draw away to Manchester United.
His first goal for Chelsea came on 16 December 2014, a 25-yard free-kick in a 31 League Cup quarter-final win away to Derby County
