  1. Cech is still by far the best keeper in the prem. I hope he still has 5 years with us or more and we cash in on Courtois. Might as well, he already has a winners medal which he won against us the bastard lol. He needs to play consistently now but we can't just let Atletico have him for 3 or 4 years for basically free.
  2. He's had an insane season but i think these rumours are bound to happen because of it. He'll be linked with everyone i suppose. I'd like to see him have 2 or 3 more of these kinds of seasons or maybe join a better league first to see just how good he is. Although that would probably put his valuation up. We need 1 proven guaranteed world class striker who's at the very top level. We have Lukaku and Ba for options already.
  3. I watched Atletico against Sociedad the other week and they were so poor. I think with the variety of players we have behind the striker, Falcao would be unbelievably good for us, you can tell just by seeing the assists Hazard and Mata have already this season and that's not counting the chances our idiot striker has missed. Falcao is beastly in the air, from the spot, he even takes a mean FK on occasion and scores many types of goal. If Torres does go in part exchange, i will literally Jizz. He's not old either, if you think 27, coming up to 28 is old, you need desperate help. He'll have 4 or possibly even 5 years, that's pretty much the norm for most players anyway. Then we simply replace him. Ba, Lukaku, Falcao. We'll never be short again and for all the games we play, 60 odd sometimes, we need it.
  4. Heard about him getting £1.7 million by the time he's 20 before even before playing for the first team. We must really think highly of this guy. I hope these sums of money don't ruin his career. I want to see him fulfil this potential.
  5. This ain't FIFA Arsenal's best CB this season has been Mertesacker lol, try using him on FIFA. I only said JT and Ivanovic because i want Luiz with Ramires in CDM, for the future anyway. We have good options, that's what matters.
  6. Glad for Bosnia, they whipped Greece and now have an epic chance to finally get to the greatest stage of all. Also pleased for the Belgium Blue boys, they're closing in too but Croatia are there too, that's gonna be tight. I was stunned at some scores though. Norway 0-1 Albania Slovenia 1-2 Iceland I mean, are you shitting me. And Latvia are shit too, swear they were in Euro 2004 and they were really good. They drew with Liechtenstein i think.
  7. Funny, my preferred partnership is the only one not on the list.
  8. Yet he's won the Ball on d'or somehow. Great striker though, should've gone on to be England's greatest ever striker, adding another 50 caps and another 20 goals. It was the injury he sustained against Leeds back in around 2000 ish that started his injury nightmare and those injuries stopped him becoming a true great imo. The goal against Argentina is probably my favourite ever England goal tbh even though we lost. It was back at a time i really loved football more than ever, even the national team.
  9. Seems weird that the 1990's were so long ago lol. 22 years then about a year after their last win at SB
  10. That's where we played the 08 final ain't it. Bet JT really wants to go back there. Still.... we did beat Spartak there didn't we? 2-0, that stunning Zhirkov goal. I think this gives us a better chance anyway, and looking forward to the early KO time.
  11. You are actually saying the 2013 Rooney is better than the 2013 Hazard? Anyway forget who the first post compares, do your own.
  12. That song should be sung forever now. Especially every game against those lot. What a team for him to do that against, now that's what you call fate. 203rd goal must be a Europa League or FA Cup final winner in Injury time from the peno spot.
  13. Aaron Lennon is absolute shit, he has pace but nothing else. Hazard is so much better than him, it's almost like they play different sports. Lennon is like SWP, Jerome Thomas etc. Can run but can't score and can't cross. Pace is good but only if you can do something with it. Hazard is the only genuine world class winger in both squads combined. He is that good. Every England - Belgium mixed team should have Hazard. I chose Hart because of his experience although Courtois really is playing better than him this season.
  14. To beat Tottenham 5-1 at Wembley in an FA Cup Semi Final when they haven't won the FA Cup for about 12 years, was it '91? Think so. To stop them qualifying for the UCL by winning it and rubbing their noses in it and getting Harry Redknapp the sack... to then go to WHL and beat them 4-2 with 4,000 Chelsea fans singing "Champions of Europe, we know what we are!".... They fucking hate us big time, they hate Arse more but we're up there too. Would be the greatest of the great to then pip them by 1 point into the top 4, leaving them 5th and beating them in the UEL Final, the cup that we, ourselves put them in. I personally hope we come 3rd and Tottenham 4th (Realistically, i'd rather Everton 4th of course) because of my hate for Arsenal which has been mentioned, i'm glad it's known btw but of course that's not down to any tradition, that's my own personal feelings right there. I do however feel Tottenham will beat us at the Bridge, it's just a bad feeling. They hadn't won at Old Trafford since what was it? 1989? They won there this season. They haven't beat us at Stamford Bridge since 1990, they have our former manager, they could be slightly behind us it just looks so written to me, laws of averages n all that shit. Of course i really hope i'm wrong. Anyway it's good to see so many top level teams because it makes beating them feel sweeter and puts pressure on anyone. Even Man Utd eventually will fail to qualify in the top 4 and teams like Liverpool.... they just fade n die like West Hams bubbles. Hopefully Arsenal fade like Liverpool soon.
  15. Jones better than Vermaelen? Belgium lack a finished article up front but they have players who will get there. The comparisons are stupid. As much as i dislike Jack Wilshere, he's probably better than any CM in both teams. Let me see... Hart Johnson - Kompany - Cahill - Cole Dembele - Fellaini - Wilshere Wallcott - Defoe - Hazard. That's my preference tbh. Cahill because i think he's defensively better than Vertongen and Wallcott simply because of his pace. Rooney will never be what he was 3 or 4 years ago. Something has died on him.
  16. Mata has been brilliant of course and Hazard has been getting better, we're certainly seeing the real Hazard now and in the last few weeks he has been breathtakingly good forget them, we know what they're about and everyone knows they are world class. David Luiz is one hell of a footballer. I think him being CB makes us not appreciate just how good this guy is. 12 months ago i wanted him nowhere near our first team, but now i'm gutted when he's not there. He's strong, he's quick, he's skilful, he's commanding, he has aggression and he will get a lot better. Maybe i'm seeing a different David Luiz to you which is great, differences of opinions are needed so all cool but the potential this guy has is immense.... i don't want to derail this thread any more so i'll leave it at that.
  17. Welcome to TC, shame about Beerschot, hope they get through it, especially for the name. We should all have a shot of beer for them. Ignore our Brazilian people, they're just jealous that Belgiums talent is better than theirs
  18. That's a shocking post. I wasn't overly impressed a year or so ago but this season he's been consistently outstanding in my opinion, one of our best 3 or 4 players easily for me. Yes he can be a bit crazy sometimes but that's him. I love him the way he is. He reads the game so well, the way he storms out, intercepts the ball and bursts out with it is beautiful to behold. David Luiz is outstanding.
  19. I've seen him once, the 2nd leg against Galatasaray, then i saw some other bits about him as i was very impressed with what i saw. All i can say is wow! Offer them Marin and 20m because this guy is going to be a superstar. Tbh we have lots of players like him but in this day and age, clubs like us need almost 2 squads if we're gonna play 60+ games a season. There will be some big teams coming in for this guy.
  20. Which every top 10 - 15 ranked country does. The people here just know more about our media because of that English team they all happen to support. Our media has always simply stated that England can perform well if their players all show up and play as well as they can. It's the same for the Italians, French, Brazilians, Spanish, Dutch, Germans, Portuguese ete etc etc.
  21. My Take. Jose won the Uefa Cup and Champions League including everything you can possibly win in Portugal. He came to us, a new country, a new challenge, a club that hasn't won the league for 50 years with an owner willing to spend and do whatever it takes. He won everything in England. JOB DONE! that's not enough to keep repeating over and over.... BORING. Jose is Jose, the special one, he wanted another challenge. He went to Italy, won EVERYTHING in Italy, plus another Champions League. Again..Mr Mourinho wanted yet a new challenge, the biggest challenge at the biggest club in the world, the club that has been surpassed by Barcelona in recent years. He went to Spain and with Real Madrid, and what happened? Yes, he won EVERYTHING again. What's left? I believe now, now that Jose is 50, he's 50 right? I believe he's ready to stay at a club for 10 years or so and i reckon it will be with us. Jose was never gonna commit fully when he was trying to make a name for himself, and because of the path he's taken, look at his impact. He wanted to make a name for himself and win everything, he did it. Now settle down dude, seriously. I think he'll like to manage Portugal one day though and win a trophy but that will be just before he retires. 15 years with us, 5 with Portugal, career over. That's what i think anyway, could be wrong of course lol. I don't think he was sacked, lets put it that way.
  22. He missed those chances because he didn't wanna score against his old team and get coined in the head. I went to a League Cup game in 04/05 between Chelsea and West Ham when Kezman scored his first Chelsea goal and even he got coined in the head, we were left in the ground for over half an hour, scum shit heads. Ba knew we would win anyway, he was just practising his runs and movement. I mean, scoring 3 against an old team isn't exactly fair.
  23. Let's not think, let's watch the goal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IdWKOi2scA
  24. So errr... let me see. Sunday 10th March, Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham Thursday 14th March, Inter 4-1 Tottenham Sunday 17th March, Tottenham 0-1 Fulham Oh dearies. Chelsea go 3rd, 5 points ahead of Arsenal and 1 point ahead of Tottenham with a game in hand over the yids. What a day! I'm guessing Bale played the 2nd half right? I mean he looked pretty fucked at H/T but they didn't sub him off from what i've seen. Btw what a shocking challenge from McManaman, the Wigan player. He should get a 10 match ban for that tackle, absolute disgrace. I'll be surprised if that Newcastle player plays again before 2014.
