2012 champions league was Chelsea's - only Barcelona to fear. Unlucky to have to play the final in Munich against the team of Munich but we managed to win. This is different and the opposition apart from PSG is very strong. This team seems to have collapsed. It was not unnatural perhaps but it was an anticlimax happening so late in the season, when we were chasing both trophies. At home even the mathematics are against us to remedy the situation. I wonder if money can do something. It's "fellow Athenians we need money" like the ancients were saying, but how much ? I believe with Didier Drogba we were lucky because he was a cheap buy from France.

Look, if we play for real at the Bridge PSG will have nowhere to hide. They may look forward to a fluke counterattack which is ok because everything is possible in football. But with a Crystal Palace class performence it's impossible of course.

All this disaster talk was absent a while back. Torres was not Drogba but he was doing the job and Eto'o, Hazard were also doing some of the scoring. The thing is we faded in the stretch.

No mood. We lost to no superior opposition, no Palace joke performence either. It was fluke - did not even kick off after their third. I 'm not ultra-pessimistic about the replay. I am more pessimistic about the stage of 4 if we get there. I just think it's as far as we can go in 2014.

I would n't call Napoli of recent years a useless team.

Chelsea's faults in my opinion: 1- Absence of striker. Drogba's departure left big gap, Torres tried but he is in his last throes now, as we all know. Eto'o is great but injury prone. 2- Inability to hold on to the ball and slow things down when needed. 3- A definite allround weakening as the end of the season nears. Another thing I noticed today is we gain some break opportunities but blow them real bad. Contrast that with the accurate movements of Bayern Munich players in similar situations.

22% unweighted w.r. to the caliber of the opposition I suppose. Then Chelsea have around 30% chances.

What was that 3-1 upside probability again ?

Paris may have a bright future but right now they do not impress me at this level.

I don't know about the replay but if this was a league match we 'd be cursing even more. It's definitely a lean spell, happening in midst of the crucial stage of the proceedings as well.

I was going to say nasty things about PSG -the scoreline is lucky for them anyway- but they picked up a little towards the end of the half. We may even win this but I think the first objective, avoid defeat by two goals, is practically achieved.
