  1. With what part of his body did Diego score ? Was it the knee ?
  2. Alright you wanted us to go down 3-0 then come back and win 4-3. Maybe Terry as a late substitute to score the 4th in extra time.
  3. Look, West Ham looked really dangerous in the first half, especially before we scored. After the second goal it was control football. Those who suggest W. Ham were useless or our performance was not good are exaggerating.
  4. He played a full match only against West Ham for the EFL cup. Tried to shoot with his shin and we were eliminated. But I don't think we really saw any of him, as opposed to other players whom we rightly or wrongly sent away. Quadrado was tried many times, Saleh before him, also Falcao.
  5. Hazard's goal was superb. The score should have been in the 4s-5s. Fortunately hammers scored a fluke and I won my bet of over 2.5. Practically that seals it re. the title.
  6. I know a woman who has taken to court some 20-30 shops for "unfair competition" throughout her lifetime. A certain soapy law allowed her to do that. I don't know how many cases she won and how many she lost but I know she stopped doing it because of old age in the end. So we 're talking about the same kind of species. It's the same with all immigration crazies. They don't give a dime about the whatever burglars-dangerous elements among them. It's the industrious ones that are poking their eye. You can bet your a**. I know them like false coins, so that's why I 'm telling you. There are some foreigners who are dangerous of course. Last month they stole our rubbish (!!!). I don't really know if it was a foreigner or a local who did it but more likely than not it was a foreigner. How does one go about stealing one's rubbish ? Well it was old newspapers and cardboards we put in the corridor. I said "no it's wrong to do that" but my sister said "leave it, don't worry, sometimes we use cardboards and there is no space in the house". But one moment we open the door and everything was gone ! Someone said he saw the one who carried them away but he could not say if he looked foreign or not.
  7. I discovered there is the following trick psychology plays on all of us: When the right wing are the oppressors, or at any rate they have installed some kind of one party regime, we think of the leftists as our natural allies. We are fired upon by them and we say "where did that artillery barrage come from ???". Equivalently, when the reds are in power and it is them who do the oppressing we think of the rightists as our natural allies. Again we go down to an unexpected traitorous barrage of artillery fire. It is true that both the leftists in right wing years and the rightists in left wing years tend to act like innocent little red riding hoods respectively, so we are fooled. But essentially we fall victims of Jung and Freud.
  8. West Ham are always dangerous. They knocked us out of the EFL cup, albeit we were a little under strength. The year before we beat them 1-0 but they gave Mourinho a scare. Always a dangerous side, even though they can't reach the top of English football.
  9. Good performance except for the momentary lapse when the swans equalized. I don't think Pedro's goal was that much of a howler. He was lucky the ball hit the ground in front of the keeper and bounced up, but Fabianski could not control this from his position and after the bounce could n't get to the ball.
  10. This law should not have been reversed (put on ice rather). I don't know what the EU says about it. The fixes in football are not so many however. Because even the small teams have supporters and they make money by selling tickets. It happens but corruption is more prevalent in the races unfortunately and the authorities don't seem to care (only when the bookies purses are affected !). It was always that way. I found an official horse racing program from 1936. In that year we had censorship in Greece but it seems the censorship did not apply to the sport press. So they were accusing a Romanian trainer of all things evil and they were calling for a cleanup ! But 80 years later what is the progress made ?
  11. Anyway I cannot eat those things. Only the Greek cheese pie is good and also the bougatsa pie of Salonica.
  12. Publicity ... Ok. Everything is publicity in bookie street. But the bookies always check the probabilities. I 'm rubbishing it really. Because the bookies took their chances and lost. They also trusted the man's impartiality I presume. And what if he did not eat any pie or -indeed- could not find ? Then all the bettors were going to lose and we should be happy ?
  13. We don't know who won those bets. The Sutton story still does n't make sense. It takes two to tango. Why the bookies offered the bet ? Why were they accepting big amounts (so the winnings became five figure sums ?). Why did n't they go to the stadium cantine and buy all the pies ? Under what conditions would they consider the outcome of the event fair ?
  14. There are three types of fixes in football: a - Bettors who try to cheat bookies. b - Bookies who try to cheat bettors. c - Unrelated to betting (championship-relegation issues). One of the biggest alleged fixes of history had nothing to do with betting. I 'm talking about the 1961 European champions cup final between Benfica and Barcelona (Benfica won 3-2 in Geneva). I 'm saying "alleged" because we don't really know if the Barcelonistas were right or wrong in accusing their team of throwing the match, but according to the rumours the Portuguese paid money to get the trophy. It would seem that nowadays the authorities care only about possibility (a) and not (b) and (c).
  15. Was it ? Worldwide as well ? Fact is that in Greece there was a law proposal in 2014 making it illegal for sports people to bet on events of the sport of which they were under the sport authority's orders. That is, football - FA, horses - Jockey Club, golph - Golph Association a.s.o. This could be violated by using proxy bettors but it was something better than nothing in the fight against corruption in sport. Some called it useless but I don't think it was useless and I supported the move. I took part in the public consultation and what I said was "watch out and don't forget to include horse racing in this law". But ... In 2015 the government changed and the new government buried this law proposal. The new left wing people's liberation government and all the rest of it, let it go. I phoned the office of the former minister of government and he said "no, my legislation is dead - I don't know what the new ones are planning". The name of our minister who wanted to pass this law was Adrianos.
  16. Come on. Eating a pie in a bench is a one in a zillion probability. I might as well declare odds that when you go downtown you are going to meet a blonde woman at exactly 1.30, at exactly the west exit of Earlscourt road station. So this fellow then is doing it every other time. Otherwise it does n't even make sense. But in such a context it's just like the royal babies and I can see no offense.
  17. This is the story: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39037401 But it is outrageous. We are allowed to bet on the names to be given to royal babies, but not on the Sutton goalie eating a pie. The royals are supposed to be impartial, which is fair enough, but why not the goalie ?
  18. I don't see how we can lose the double. United are n't the betters of Arsenal-Spurs whom we defeated at the bridge. We beat them too by 4-0 in the league.
  19. I watched the Real match. Now I 'm going to look at the Bayern goals. It was more or less expected from Arsenal but what do think about Barcelona's debacle ? I believe it's Juve year and then the Conte years begin. The reason Spanish teams and Bayern dominate is -apart from Arsenal playing in the CL- the transfers they make. When did the English clubs beat them to it ? The last one who was contested between England and Spain, after a fashion, was Suarez and L'pool sold without any second thoughts.
  20. You cannot break a packed defense through the centre, with one-twos. Only if they 're amateurs.
  21. The fluke is part of the game. I scored against a national team goalkeeper in a park. The ball went high -to the roof if there was a roof- my teammates shouted "what a load of rubbish" at me, but then it dipped down hit the post and in. The keeper needed a rocket to reach near that ball.
  22. You could argue that Burnley are not the side who do not deserve to snatch us a point at home, but a good result it was n't. A good result means we could have won and they could have won. But they did not even threaten - except for the fluke.
  23. Why was it a good result ? They created nothing. Against L'pool you might call that 1-1 a good result because they had some of the ball. Today there were no attack ideas whatsoever in the second half when Burnley fell back. When was their keeper called into action ?
  24. I saw no attack in the entire second period. No ideas whatsoever concerning how to create a move.
