A MOURINHO VIEW ON THE BREXIT SITUATION I 'm following the drama from the early days as you know. From the day Cameron announced the referendum. For me the biggest danger is that it will bring Europe and the UK back to the early thirties, the pre-Hitler days. I don't know who exactly the protagonists are going to be but it's taking us back to pre-Hitler days. There are the gloomy predictions about Britain's economic future after brexit. I d' like to know this: Exactly how bad is it going to be ? I suspect everyone likes to know. I have a benchmark. My benchmark is Greece's varouf-exit. You know why ? Because it was abandoned 6 hours after it started by the people who initiated it themselves ! So in this scale how does brexit fare you reckon ? 20% ? 40% ? 70% ? There is also the new Kostas Gavras film "Adults in the room" for those of you who want to have a laugh with the antics of the varouf-exiteers of Greece. But whatever the answer to this question may be, I feel it has n't gone down to the public. It's always like this: The government -some government- announces huge tax increases, the newspapers write about it with big letters every day (alas, huge tax increases) but most folks appreciate only when the envelope from the tax authority reaches them and only then. This is an observed and recorded fact - don't argue ! So we come to the present juncture and worry about the economic impact of Brexit later (if Brexit happens). To approximate the situation I look into the various sides in the argument, the various camps. There is the strong remain camp. Libs, SNP, Greens. They will support remain for obvious reasons, no matter what the prospects are (i.e. win or lose in a new referendum). Libs for instance have more than doubled their percentage so they are going to be Britain's pro-Europe party no matter what. So the existence of the strong remain camp won't tell us who is ahead now in the country, the remainers or the brexiteers ? There is then the weak remain camp (Labour). Corbyn used to think that brexit will be forgotten and he can carry on with labkipers and remainers under the same roof. It backfired, he is sustaining huge losses to the Libs so he is on the road to become a weak remainer. Again due to this peculiar situation, Labour's stance is not a tell-tale clue. On ther other side there are the brexiteers of course, Boris, Farage and the labkipers. One thing that speaks in favour of remain's prospects is the Tory rebellion though. Rory, now Nicholas Soames and others. If things were going well for brexit would n't all the Tories be tame like little lambs, obeying Theresa's calls, Boris's calls ? In my opinion it is a mystery at this stage. Also Boris would never call for elections on the 15th of October or Corbyn would never have refused, if a Boris defeat was the plainly obvious outcome. What is your response to those concerns of mine ?

i think we got ourselves a centre forward. But the defense is tottering in the seams. It was a mistake to let Luiz go.
-
Valencia is the weakest opponent. Ajax struggled against PAOK (out of Euroepa to Slovan Bratislave tonight) and also APOEL. Lille are doing well in France and are feared most.
-
Willian played for four minutes - Alonso for one.
-
a. Atkinson was their twelfth player. b. We normally see a lot of chances created with the Lamps system - under Mou, Sarri, Antonio we played parallel football. c. The defense is crumbly - maybe Kante and Rudiger will help.
-
7 becomes 25 when you travel at the speed of light.
-
We scored after 7 mins. Soon after there was that glancing header (from Kante ?) that landed into Smeichel's arms. Then nothing.
-
You call the first seven minutes "first half".
-
I want to know this: We were vulnerable to counterattacks ok, but luckily nothing happened. The scored from a corner kick not a counterattack. But our midfield and up front was Sahara desert - Gobi desert, from the moment after Mount scored for us (7th minute !). How do you explain that ?
-
Vardy is a good player. Now I know why the big clubs did not go for him. He's 32, so the year Leicester won the title he was 28. About us however it was not only the vulnerability to counterattacks, because when did you see any serious attacking football after the 1-0 - or a couple of minutes after the 1-0 to be precise ? Nothing worked well and only the final scoreline was not horrible enough, like the staweberries-raspberries last year.

I mean you write something. It's nonsense. You tear it up. That was yesterday's Chelsea performence.
-
If we talk about work and yesterday's work was mine, it would lie in the dustbin now. Happens to me from time to time mind you.
-
We all know this is an experimental season. But are we really so bad ?
-
I think Lamps is trying to do away with the Sarri-Antonio-Mourinho slow build up system at the expense of position keeping and at the expense of leaving the defense exposed. Not only that but his players got tired after 20-25 minutes of play and Leicester (!) dominated the game, inside Stamford bridge as well. It was dismal,

Yesterday we were outplayed, for the first time in years by a midtable team. Against Utd we were unlucky, yesterday we were outplayed.
-
Second division football. Frenetic start then everything collapsed. This was not a big six team, not even a premier team I 'm afraid. I think what happened was this: Lampard does n't play man to man. This makes the team look fast when in possession, but when they lose the ball it's drama. Then once the Leicester players caught drift of the system, they turned the tables on us. Leicester should have won.
-
I don't care about pens. It's part of the game, it's make or break (e.g. Eintracht) but it's a random thing - we could just as easily lose to Aston Villa on penalties. The team showed some considerable qualities yesterday, against the nominally strongest opposition in Europe.
-
Now that the dust has settled what happened was this: We were the better side up to the point they scored their second goal - United were living on scrapes. But the Zouma flop in the first half had already made things diffcult for us. Then they make it 2-0. That was it - game over and it can happen any time, any place if you are unlucky. The thing to do under such circumstances is don't give up -like we did. You must n't drop the white towel. Ok, let it stay 2-0, the final result. But we behaved like amateur side, abandoned positions, everyone panicked. We awarded a 4-0 victory to Man. United, a team that will barely make it to the Europa cup of the next year.
-
Zouma I think was a sort of hopeful back in the season when he was injured. But I don't think he's any good at this level. Certainly not a new Terry.

house of bloody cards

Bet365 say United to score second goal of the match 2.00, Chels 2.50.
-
It looks better than Sarri ball or Mourinho ball I have to say that. United are so lucky.
-
Zouma made two horrible mistakes and Pedro also.

One down to second division Manchester United.
