Our transfer window continues to be a laughing stock. We're just going to have to accept the fact that Roman doesn't have as much money to throw around on transfers as he did in the past. With the strength of our youth team over the last 3 years and all the players we have on loan, you'll think we'll at least have produced our own defenders for the 1st team by no It's very possible we end up with no defenders or with an overpriced average one that is no better than what we already have. Let's not ever forget who is bankrolling this club and how we're able to make these expensive signings. The fact is Roman is nowhere near as wealthy or as willing to spend money as he was when he first took over the club 13 years ago. He can no longer compete with the amount of money the two Manchester clubs are able to shed season after season. And this is disastrous for us since we took 10 steps backwards after Mourinho's 2nd coming. Any rebuild is going to be a slow and ardous one. We can't simply spend our way out of the current problems we have. It's possible we don't make any other signings this summer. This is one of the most critical seasons in our history. If we don't qualify for the CL this season, we are in serious trouble.

Why is Hazard just standing out on the right, shouldn't he be coming more centrally? I hate to criticize him for stuff that isn't his fault, but he should know how much we need his creativity in more meaningful positions on the pitch. Anyway, that seems moot now as he looks to be hurt. Let's be honest. Fabregas won't do shit.

Maybe you've forgotten that both those teams finished ahead of us last season and we still have essentially the same problems we did last season thanks to our board's refusal to buy new players. I like to think ahead, not shallowly.

Add to the fact that we're now playing with two holding midfielders essentially and an average player like Oscar and a striker like Costa who is so tunnel visioned and has poor ball control and decision making, it's no surpise we're shit. Our board knows all these things but they do nothing. Both of the Manchester clubs will tear us a new asshole right now. Hopefully, we get our shit together in the 2nd half. But 10 days till the transfer window shuts and we've only signed Kante.

Comparing this game to the Stoke vs Man City game, this is such of a low quality. And we're major culprits for that.

Hazard shouldn't be taking our corners. It's a well known fact among knowledgable CFC fans that he can't generate enough power on them.

The explanation for Willian's absence is more straightforward. He's injured. Has a minor calf problem.

Oscar is much better for us when he accepts his role as a system player instead of trying to be one of the stars for this team. On another note, I have no idea why he requested to take the penalty vs West Ham instead of Hazard (who I believe is now back on penalty duties).

I hope he'll shut a lot of mouths this season. I can't believe the amount of criticism he's gotten from Chelsea fans in a season were most of our players underperformed. You'll think a player like Matic will at least get the benefit of the doubt from some of his past performances. It wasn't that long ago he was arguably our 2nd best player behind Hazard.

For about 2 seasons now, Neville essentially gets off from taking little digs at Hazard. He can't discuss Hazard without being excessively critical of him. He's still bitter he snubbed the scum.
