Alonso has become a very important determinant for our season. It's very important he shows his quality and establishes himself as a first XI player for us to have a realistic chance of finishing top four. I just hope fans don't get on his back if he starts slowly and makes some mistakes. Certain sections of our fanbase were very quick to pounce on Baba's mistakes and now he's out. Just remember that the only other option is Ivanovic at RB and Azplicueta at LB before anyone of us jump on Alonso.

Whoscored's player characteristics doesn't mean much as it's wholly determined by what league you play in and what team you play for as opposed to the player's actual, you know, characteristics. @Gilvorak is somewhat right. For once
-
This is his record in the last 30+ games. When did Ferguson, Guardiola, Ancelotti, Simeone, Conte or even Wenger sink so low? Mid-table manager? P 32 W13 D5 L14 Sure looks like it.

From RedCafe. The rags are losing it already : He's made some terrible decisions so far. Absolutely shocking that Rooney is still involved, the mind boggles that he has all 3 of Blind Carrick and Herrera on the bench. I really want to know what he works on in training. We have no style, no quick movement, no authority on the games we play in, no control even against mid table clubs and constant changing of formations. He's shoe-horned various players in (Zlatan is included here) in the hope that their individual moments of brilliance will overshadow the lack of management on his behalf. He's been really really shite and needs to fix it immediately.

Chickens finally coming home to roost for this arrogant prick. Let's hope so.

Always awful losing to those fucks let alone getting abused for vast majority of the game. It was one proper footballing side vs a pub team. We fans deserve to ask, why? Liverpool don't have better players but their football is 1000 times better and more effective than ours. Fabregas, Alonso have to start from now on. Ivanovic and Oscar can't be starting XI players anymore. Anything else is derelection of duty or just plain trolling Chelsea fans. We also need a completely different approach when facing good teams. This is the most crucial point and it's purely a MANAGERIAL issue. I didn't see any patterns, triangles or attacking build up play. We saw it from the team in red, nothing from the team in blue. I saw very few players committed to the oppositions's 3rd. Why? In complete contrast to Liverpool, even when they were 2-0 up. Why? It's not that we don't have the players to produce something resembling actual football. It's on Conte. Absolutely on him. It's the manager that has to instill a forward thinking approach to his players. We aren't Barcelona. We don't have the quality of players that can produce attacking football on their own. Hopefully, this is the LAST time I ever see the fucking disgusting sight of Azpilicueta at left back. The guy is one of the best fullbacks in the world. Being wasted. I'm tired of it. A midfield trio of Oscar - Matic - Kante, is ineffectual without a creative central midfielder. Oh wait, that's why we have one of the most creative central midfielders rotting on the bench while the fraud Oscar continues to delude himself and some clueless fans. If Conte can't implement an actual style of play, (and I think he can), then we are super-fucked with another Champions-leaguless season being a real possibility. Goodnight and let's look forward to the next game WITH ACTUAL CHANGES IN THE FUCKING LINE-UP AND OUR APPROACH IN THE FINAL THIRD.
-
He's been disastrous today. Truth be told.
-
Still Fabregas is on the bench.
-
Good pre-assist from Hazard. Matic did well too.
-
Conte trying to equal one of Mourinho's records.
-
Oscar going for goal. Didn't even bother looking up to find the open man.
-
You obviously didn't watch their game vs Leicester then You can't accuse me of being emotional for stating my point of view. . That's an ad-hominem that has little to do with the actual point being made. But I'll let you have the last word if it makes you feel better about yourself.
-
(Half time vs Liverpool as of the time of comment.) Very disappointing. Very conservative, which means he learned nothing from Mourinho's tenure. It doesn't work with this group of players. There's no Drogba. There's no Essien. No Ballack. We can't bulldoze our way through teams with mechanical football. He's failed his first big test and now the honeymoon is over. If Alonso and Fabregas are not integrated immediately into the starting XI, then I don't know what else to say other than the fans are being robbed.
-
No point in mentioning Hazard if no one around him can string two passes together and if the team isn't interested in commiting players to attack. Even a combination of Cruyff, Maradona, Pele and Zico would have done nothing in his place today. Let's be realistic and sensible.
-
And Milner is a defensive player? It's a very offensive option to have Milner as your LB, if you ask me. Complete opposite of why Azpilicueta is playing at LB. I think my comment went right over your head.
-
If Klopp or Guardiola were our manager, I could make a pretty solid wager that our playing style will have changed by now. Also, some of the personnel would have changed from within our current squad. No way either of those two have Azpilicueta at LB for instance. The entire concept is anathema to them.
-
What is his finals record? You tell me. I see some of the managers banded about as "WC" and Klopp is right up there with some of them. I see no reason to deny him that.
-
Just imagine what Guardiola and City would have done to us today.... He is though. Just needs time to figure out what some of us already know about some of these pretenders calling themselves Chelsea FC quality players.
-
When has he not been? Completely revolutionized Dortmund and won a championship in a league that generally has been considered a monopoly for the last half a decade.
-
Who in Liverpool's XI will you swap for any of the 3 players I mentioned?
-
Nianggolan lacks control and his technique is not top level. Exchange him for Matic and it'll be the same shitshow. What we needed was another CM with technique and playmaking skills besides Fabregas. That way, we could have a 3 of Fabregas, that midfielder and Kante OR that midfielder, Kante and Matic, for tough away matches. The fullback situation is still hanging in the air, mind. Even more than all those things, just a mentality shift from a manager, ffs. For once. Enough with the conservative, safety first garbage (that doesn't WORK WITH THIS TEAM) and commit bodies to attack.
-
Okay, 2-0. Good night. I can't take anymore of this shit. Honeymoon is now over for Antonio. Heads most roll after this shitshow.
-
It's not even about making runs. It's about committing players to attack. You can see it in Guardiola's, Klopp's and Wenger's sides. That's on Conte really. He's been way too conservative and this team cannot play conservative football. It's been proven many times under Mourinho.
-
Cahill, Ivanovic, Oscar --- How any of these 3 players can continue to be considered Chelsea material is beyond me. How many opportunities can they continue to get? How many times must they let us down? None of these players will get into the teams' of City, United, Liverpool, Arsenal or Tottenham. Leicester fans won't want them in their starting XI either. To me, it says Abramovich no longer has the ambition to make Chelsea the best team in England.
-
Ivanovic with a clear sighting at goal to cross the ball. Dallies forever and it gets intercepted. This guy is not only slow, he's become retarded.
