This is what happens when you don't play like a team. Just a bunch of individuals playing for themselves.
-
Pogba lacks defensive awareness. A player who is lacking in this department is not a box to box midfielder by definition. Pogba is a central midfielder. If you want to consider him a box to box midfielder, then the term loses its meaning and every CM should be considered "box to box".
-
I was arguing with some ignorant people on twitter that Pogba is NOT a box to box midfielder. Defending and defensive awareness is not his game. Just amazing how ignorant some people are even discussing well known players.
-
At least Souness, Henry and Carragher are telling as it is. City destroyed them without Kompany and Aguero. Neville, the cunt-boy, said City "shaded" it. Tyler was riding Mourinho's cock all game. Two idiots.
-
Funny how Sky is trying to play this off as some even match-up. 60% to 40% 6-3 shots on target in favour of City. That was a dominant win for City as they had to play a decent amount without a striker.
-
8 wins in 17 vs Guardiola. Only 3 wins for Mourinho. It seems Guardiola doesn't need the midfield dominance of Xavi and Iniesta or the magic of Messi. Or Aguero for that matter There goes all that bullshit about Guardiola not being one of the, if not the best manager in the world because he's a world class manager who manages world class players. Only dummies who know nothing about football don't rate him highly.
-
Man City dominated at Old Trafford without Aguero. Mourinho dominated by Guardiola yet again.
-
Sane's a very good young talent but he's been dire since coming on.
-
Even though a draw will be most ideal here for us, I still want United to lose.
-
Think? Course we can. I'm surpsised how many people seem to think they are one of the top 2 dead-cert favourites for the title.
-
It's amazing how Martin Tyler is on the jock of this game. We all know he's a Mourinho lover, but only one team is playing good football and creating chances even without their star player. And that's not the team in red.
-
Contrast that to United. How many clear cut chances have they created despite all the huffing and puffing? At least they don't have 0 shots on target, which was a feat Mourinho managed several times with us.
-
You have to imagine if Aguero was on the pitch, this will have been 4,5-1 by now.
-
(1) No, he's not easily better than Pogba. That's hyperbole. (2) No, he's not. Aguero is better than De Bruyne. He's clearly City's best player.
-
2-0 now. They're being ripped apart. Just goes to show Mourinho is not as special as he or some of his acolytes seem to think he is. Guardiola, Simeone, Conte all bette rmanagers. And I'm not even being bitter.
-
Man United playing like a true Mourinho team in big games. No direction in the attacking third. No ideas. Slow, labourous, boring, stale. Like the manager's ability in coaching attacking football is minimal at best. Which it is.
-
The most important thing is that he's getting starter's minutes in Granada. His loan to Rennes was just a waste of everyone's time. He's one of the best teenage talents in Europe and they treated him like he was a scrub.
-
Hazard is going to be scarier in the next couple of months. I have noticed he plays even better when the weather gets cooler.
-
That's a sick goal. Running the full length of the pitch and basically passing it into the corner like that. Anyone who's played football will appreciate that goal even more.
-
I didn't see the build up leading to that, but was it entirely unprovoked. Not that it matters, but I'm just curious. Anyone?
-
Tru. But we need to get busy in the transfer window. The board are not putting him on an equal footing to Guardiola in this regard.
-
Because he's a more complete midfielder than Fabregas? He can actually defend. (Fabregas is a liability without the ball, even when he plays as a 10). Is mobile? Is more athletic than he looks? He has fantastic technique. Can pass. Suits Conte's style of play much more than Fabregas? You just can't highlight Fabregas' greatest strength and put him on a level that is not his true level.
-
You can't read properly, and I can't help you with that.
-
I like you, Ryan but you couldn't be any more wrong about Guardiola. It's not just about how well his teams play, it's about how they press without the ball and how well they defend. Pellegrini could never coach that. The thing that scares me most about City is not their players, but Guardiola. Because he's such an incredible manager, he has the ability to go on these very long, sustained winning streaks. When that happens, it's important we stay with them unless they'll piss all over the league. They're going to win a LOT of PL games this year.
-
You're right that Fabregas is a better passer than Brozovic. He's also a better player (at least in the 1st half of the season, when he usually shows up) but his shortcomings cannot be ignored. I can make a fairly convincing argument that his weaknesses as a player have hurt us just as much as his strengths. Conte, one of the top two tacticians in the league besides Guardiola, recognizes(d) that. Brozovic is not my first choice but I mentioned him since we're linked to him. But you're wrong to think that we need a world class passer in a midfield with Kante and Matic. That is you inserting your presupposition into what you think is a must have requirement to win the Premier League title. It just isn't and has never been. There are many examples of teams that won the championship without having world class passers.
