  1. Just look at how Ghana conceded the goal that saw them get knocked out. They're a mess from top to bottom.
  2. Tried our hardest to blow that chance too.
  3. Nsue has been leading the line for years (an extremely versatile player). A team with no stars, as their captain put it and the tournament's leading scorer perfectly put it, humbled a side filled with names. That's why you have to love the AFCON. Just look at what happened to Ghana.
  4. I wouldn't call Haaland "a little-known player." Players know they can use them as a stepping stop, which generally works for both parties. The situation here is completely different.
  5. A surprising decision if he's been called back for another reason. I'd imagine him or Santos will remain with the squad till the summer. Edit: It looks like he's going to be part of the squad after all. Mixed feelings.
  6. It doesn't mean the graphic is incorrect. Davis could have also played for Ghana & Mbappe for Algeria. France's footballing history would look very different if that were the case.
  7. Just have a look at his performance against Al Ahly (by far his biggest game since joining). People think we're going after someone in their prime for some reason.
  8. They always tend to choke. It's hard to look past Senegal or them as it stands.
  9. I have to echo this. It's hard for anyone to build on scraps especially after coming back from a serious injury.
  10. There's no chance we're getting that much for Chalobah. I can see an Italian side taking a punt at around £20m max (payment spread over a decade).
  11. I don't want him as much as the next person, but he has only "failed" at Spurs. That could have been different had he remained in charge of the cup final. The youngsters thing is something I mentioned to a friend shortly after his dismissal was announced, that there was no chance of that happening for the stated reason. Our team would be his worst nightmare to work with.
  12. I've mentioned Muriel almost every window. He fits the profile for the way we're trying to play and wouldn't cost much. Benzema's biggest game over the last few months was in the CWC, in which he was dire (missed a PK to boot). I personally think we ought to stay clear, regardless of whether there's any chance of this happening.
  13. I'm not disputing that. I just commented on your post about Brazil no longer being the gold mine it once was. The issue with our transfer business is that there's no balance between youth and experience, which is evident in most of our performances. Lucas is the one name that sticks out who falls under that bracket.
  14. It proves that these players are capable, despite your attempts to discredit them. Talent is talent. He wasn't talked about in the same breath as the other two, I couldn't agree more with the first part. Dzeko (who was also signed in the winter window) and Son are the only other players to come from Germany and deliver in the Prem. In regards to Benz, I'd be more worried about his demeanour than about anything else. I'd personally keep well clear of anyone who's gone over to Saudi for a final payday. If we're really interested in a CF, we should get someone who's still playing at the highest level on loan until the summer before buying a worthy CF.
  15. Didn't those players win the CL not too long ago?
  16. Just have a look at the Spanish Super Cup final tonight. The two goalscorers (4 goals between them) show this sort of thing still occurs today if you scout properly. If Endrick lives up to the hype, they'd have stuck gold three times in a row while most of Europe was laughing at the amount of money they spent on kids.
  17. Barcelona has wasted money on fun in recent years and still does not want him, which says a lot. I wouldn't say Dembele flopped; he simply lost due to his own demons and lack of discipline. Also, I believe there is more to clubs' unwillingness to bite when it comes to Felix than just the price. It's nice to see Mudryk being rated by others too. He and Madueke were two players I wanted to sign having seen them for the first time in the 21/22 Champions League playoffs. I just hope they both have plenty of opportunities to succeed in the future, without jeopardising the team.
  18. The same Felix that Barca want to get rid of in the summer?
  19. Imagine if De Bruyne played that pass for our attackers. The composure from Bobb was something else. It seems like they are producing some real talent over there.
  20. There was noise about him being a sweetener to get the Caicedo deal done. I'm starting to believe that was the case, as it was an idiotic move otherwise.
  21. Fourth consecutive win at home in the league, the first time in three and a half years. That's the only real positive from today. Get the coward out before a decent season is no longer possible. And to think he's only playing due to Sanchez's injury.
  22. One plus point of this season - we finally have a reliable PK taker again.
  23. They aren't exactly scoring goals with ease, so it could be an easier to the first XI should he impress.
  24. We need a goalscorer, not a ball carrier. The moment you uttered the words, "Jackson is a better player than him," I knew the convo would only end one way. No one is forcing it. He's the best option by a country mile, IMO. I can't say this enough. Imagine if a more competent player was at LB tonight and Palmer was fielded in his usual position. Poch's persistence in doing the above is a key reason why I want him out at this point.
  25. I'm honestly done with Poch at this point. How do we concede? A nobody gets the better of Colwill at LB, and the rest is history. If Broja & any other defender were playing at LB, we'd be coming away with one foot in the final.
