He was also away at the AFCON for over a month.

Sadly, it seems like everything is pointing to that. My hope is that they'll be more interested in De Zerbi before the clowns running this club get any ideas.

I just have this feeling Nagelsmann is the man they're after, but we'd have to wait a while due to the Euros. If I were fortunate enough to have a say, I'd be giving Motta a hard look. The job he's done at Bologna is nothing short of remarkable (highest league finish in 60+ years, IIRC), and he has the pedigree. I just don't see him as the type of person to shut his mouth when things around him aren't in his control.

I hate our board. Poch's sacking in itself isn't a massive thing, as we underperformed for large parts of the season, but it is the supposed reasoning behind his sacking. The board wants a yes-man, which is the last thing we need as a club. We might as well say goodbye to a few more Cobham graduates in the process.

Me neither. It seems like Martinez getting injured saw them start to leak goals for fun. Conference league semi is evident of that.
-
Villa's recent performances have been dire. If it continues onto next season, we lose a CL place at this rate.
-
If City do the job as most expect, I'd much prefer us finishing 6th rather than finishing fifth & having that feeling of what might have been with an addition CL taken from us due to other sides underperforming in Europe when it truly mattered.
-
That might have been the case, but Jackson had more than enough chances to make that a moot point. Never expect anything from the officials here.
-
An impressive turnaround in recent weeks (FA Cup semi aside). The average age of the league's youngest squad is about to be even lower.
-
We are always so vulnerable set pieces at both ends. Why overcommit?

It's a real shame more clubs in the country don't take advantage of the talent that's playing below the EPL.
-
It just felt like he was holding back the team instead of letting them flourish. There were signs of that when Viera intentionally took charge. The fact that he took on the job for the second time was very surprising, especially considering his age.

It's crazy how the same crop of players have seemingly been transformed after Hodgson's departure. I really hope they manage to keep their main players for at least another season. Edit - Make that 19.
-
Mateta can't stop scoring.
-
Not with this side. It's nice to have a cushion, though. Edit - You were saying?

Another frustrating attacking performance so far. I'd bring Nkunku on to help in that regard before Bournemouth sneak a goal. QPR made things interesting. City like to make things difficult for themselves in such scenarios.
-
The scenes if Millwall got promoted. 😄 They've been a breath of fresh air. I'd love for some sort of miracle to happen today, but it's highly unlikely.
-
I believe that Burnley's decision to stick with Kompany will help them bounce back at the first attempt next season. I could see Amdouni running wild in the Championship should he stay.
-
No Norwich or WBA for another season. I'm pleased they haven't been able to abuse the system to their benefit once again.

I remember watching a clip recently of someone in sports fitness talking about some of the drills players were told to do that would only make matters worse. The fact that our injury problems have been a recurring theme for multiple seasons now leads me to believe they are largely to blame, but you make a good point regarding our youthful crop. I'm just hoping injuries won't be the main takeaway next season.

There's absolutely no chance Sterling would agree to such a move. I feel like it's Saudi or bust where this summer is concerned. This is exactly where I'm at with the rumours. What's the point of having talent if they are hardly available? Not to mention how shoddy our medical team seems to be. Both appear to be a recipe for disaster. At this point, if we decide to pursue more experienced players, they must have a solid track record in terms of fitness.

Players that seize their chances when they are presented and don't make a scene deserve praise. We also have Italian clubs to thank for being tight, too.
-
There's people on this forum that believe we don't even deserve a European place because of our performances for the most part, so...
-
We know all too well what it's like to nick a European place. Making sure we do our bit at home is all we should be worried about.
-
I might be missing something, but isn't there a scenario where United could finish outside of the European places and still nick a EL place with a victory at Wembley?
