I think there might be some confusion, as I was wanting him to stay ahead of those who came in. If you're disagree with the last point about him being good enough to make one of our best PL sides, I guess we just have to agree to disagree.
-
We just have to take wins however they come right now. Three on the bounce. Tottenham did us a solid too.
-
Three of the four can't stay fit, so only one could actually be relied on. I'm not sure if the latter is genuine, as I don't see Maresca being that type of person even if he has worked with Palmer in the past. The worry is not having anyone who can seemingly step up.
-
I could tell that was going to happen. If he's missing PK's as well, we are in serious trouble.
-
We had Turnbull & Hilario. No one is singing the praises of Jorgensen for his world class performance, however, he's doing the basics which Sanchez clearly can't. As I stated above, if this decision backfires, Maresca better shoulder all the blame. And how many direct errors has he made? ONE! Sanchez leads the league in that regard and you are content with him just slotting back into our squad. Each to their own.
-
You can only judge someone on what has actually happened rather than hypotheticals. Players should be selected based on form unless they are integral to our first XI (Palmer, James, Fofana, Caicedo, etc). I would be in agreement with you about George had Sancho not been putting in 3 or 4 out of 10 for months & regressed massively. Was Nwaneri ready?
-
And Jorgensen hasn't done that? This is another case of clear favouritism & trying to save face. George is certainly more deserving of a start than Sancho too.

No one knows if the club pushed for a replacement or not. Keeping him despite the manager clearly not being a fan doesn't suit either party, tbh. I agree. He has been over reliant on underperforming players (Sanchez being the prime example of that), and it has cost us when we need to chase a result. We all knew Maresca would essentially be learning on the job, so the issues you mentioned are things we just have to hope done end up ultimately costing us a CL place that looked nailed on at the start of December. He was the lesser of three evils (Felix, KDH), our captain for large parts of last season, and could actually be relied on. If this was 09/10, we wouldn't even be mentioning his name.
-
I have no idea what the latter has done to reclaim his place. If this backfires....
-
We are seen as a business, first & foremost. Those making the decisions where transfers are concerned haven't got an actual plan in mind. The entire direction we have been going on & off the field since the acquisition is extremely worrying. Maresca wasn't keen on him, & rightfully so. I know you have a great fondness towards Felix for some reason or another. Blame Maresca all you want, but those mentioned are down to him. 1 )Felix isn't up to top level football 2) Nkunku just isn't a better option than Palmer 3) Veiga seemingly wanted to play CB

I wouldn't have cared if the Gallagher/Felix deal didn't happen. What bothers me is that it happened and we ended up getting the short end of the stick.
-
It doesn't seem like we bailed on it. Just moved the goalposts & his team decided against going ahead with things. That's exactly something I can imagine those calling the shots to do, tbh.
-
I totally agree. It going down to the wire is far more enjoyable than one side coasting.
-
No one should ever expect anything from Arsenal. Evra said it best -
-
That decision not to send Nunez off was the turning point. They might as well wrap the title up now.
-
The price tag is what gets me. People can hate on Drinkwater as much as they want, but at least he was a PL winner.
-
Our first away win since beating Astana in Dec. It just goes to show how bad we've been since then.
-
We were always going to concede, so it's good we had a small buffer.
-
He's with a much better supporting case now. There's obliviously something about him which is why those within the club hold high hopes for a 17 year old. Arsenal & United (putting their predicament aside) haven't hid away from fielding literal nobodies, so this is the perfect opportunity to see what he's about.
-
I've been echoing a similar thing. James & Enzo should never be considered as captains. If our board continue with cradle snatching, we are going to remain in the same situation. Actual talk of us being linked to Kimmich. Who are they trying to fool?
-
Mheuka starting is a big surprise. I hope that's a sign of things to come. Sanchez is the only thing I worried about.
-
Liverpool showed exactly what we're missing - a WC GK, and a plan B.
-
I feel like the title race was over months ago. It's not enjoyable seeing a side walk away with the title but oh well. As long as they keep taking points off those around us, I'll be pleased.
-
There isn't much we can take away from that game. Southampton put in one of the worst performances I can remember for a PL side. A cleansheet is a nice plus regardless of the opposition, though.
-
I hope Palmer can get out of this funk soon. He could have easily scored a hattrick.
