Only Southampton's third cleansheet in 48 PL games. They are officially better than that dire Derby side with Savage. 😄
-
Money talks. They'll be writing this season off as "a one-off" should they EL final. He really isn't a RB. If Liverpool do buy him, he'll be found wanting defensively.
-
Amorim. He is effectively the guy who help bring Gyorkeres to his current level.
-
Some positivity is always nice. I see all the teams around us expect for City dropping points, so a win would put us in a great position.
-
Most of the squad have never won silverware either. This is the best chance we'll get for the foreseeable future. Anything can happen over one game, tbh. If we don't apply ourselves or make stupid mistakes like previous games in this competition, we could actually be punished for once.
-
To be fair to him, he's been playing at FB when making said mistakes. Everyone and their dog should know by now that he can't play in that position at this level.
-
They had interest in Felix a few months ago, so he'd be a like for like replacement for them. We can throw in Disasi unless his performances have done enough to scare them off. 😄
-
Barcelona really shouldn't have been in with a shout either. They conceded 24 goals, which ultimately proved to be their downfall.

Salah cost around £34m in 2017 (coming off 19 goals for Roma). You can figure out what that fee would be in 2025 (most likely around £80m+ min). Using him or Haaland are such lazy comparison when you look at their output at a similar age in top competitions compared to Delap. Names you listed - Lukaku twice, Nunez, Isak and Morata... Then you have the likes of Torres, Auba, Haller Auba at Arsenal earlier on: 17/18 , 18/19 & 19/20 . Did he fail? Did Torres fail at Liverpool? Out of the rest, Isak is the only one had real potential considering him being a wonderkid at one point and finding his feet again during his time in Spain. The rest seemed like duds from a country mile for one reason or another. The last part rings true to a degree. However, our style of play isn't reliant on a technical genius. Someone like Giroud would be almost a dream right now. If our board weren't so against signing anyone over 22, such a player that isn't raved about might be waiting to be picked up (Kvaratskhelia should be the prime example of what good scouting can achieve).

I knew it was only a matter of time. 😄

He's just turning himself into a laughing stock. Evra couldn't have been more on the money - Netflix FC.
-
PSG have beaten three English sides in a row (City in the league phase as well). Talk of "Mickey Mouse" league might quiet down for a bit. The final is attack V def with the best GK's on show. It should be interesting.

Without a doubt, he will be a rotation option. We will be in a similar position and have the same conversation in a year because I don't see him dropping numbers that are anywhere near to Palmer's first season (22). You don't get the calibre of CF's you've listed on £150kpw max.
-
Considering the amount they'd command, I would stay clear. I watched him fairly often this year when he was part of a good partnership with Marmoush, but he reaped the rewards from that duo rather than being the dominant force. If we REALLY must go after second, third, or fourth tier options, I'd go for Delap for two reasons: he would be the cheapest and has a year of PL experience behind him.
-
Seemed like an odd decision when they were leading. Could be a massive mistake.
-
Barcelona lead the tie for 5 minutes. This is why no other sport comes close.
-
Thuram's run was a clear example of that. Raphinha doing what he's done countless times this season. Anonymous until that moment.
-
I still remember how many people were against the idea of signing Sommer prior to joining Inter. He's been a great shot stopper since his time at Basel and has only gotten better.
-
I feel like this will turn out to be another Grealish/Phillips signing. It would be a stupid move for him in footballing terms.
-
Caicedo's effort has been something special today. Palmer finally gets his goal and is back in the groove from the stop. Up to fourth!
-
Nunez should be a reminder for everyone what a CF from the Portuguese League could look like.
-
Dire finishing has been our Achilles heel. Hopefully, we can get a second.
-
He has the pace to beat their entire backline. If he managed to stay onside, Liverpool would be down to 10 already.
-
Diaz isn't starting..... I totally understand the reasoning behind it. I just feel like it's an extremely defensive backline which will probably hamper us more than help us.
-
James has been back for 12 games, played a full 90 for England without issue. Acheampong being young isn't a reasonable excuse either. I will never be a fan of square pegs unless forced to do so.
