I know many get frustrated with some of Pedro's misses, etc, but I have always felt he brings a pace to our attack that Willian (and I like him too) just does not bring. I think we are fortunate that he was still here when Conte arrived and now mixing him and Moses in with Hazard and Costa going forward really opens up the other side. He works well with the rest of the lads and creates. He hustles as well. As much as I love Willian's hustle, he slows the attack down standing on the right side of goal at the corner of the penalty area dribbling (similar to Hazard in matches last year). Pedro moves. He is in a good position within the 3-4-3 and am glad he is a Blue.

Good lord, let's hope we do not have a 40+ year old Terry and 35+ year old Ivanovic playing for us 5 years from now in 2021!

I thought he played well. Should've had a brace (or at least one). Instead of replacing Pedro we should replace Willian.

I see a lot of people saying we still need an upgrade but I think he's been very good since we've gone to 3-4-3, he looks like he's got that bit between his teeth, to prove a point, where as last season he was a rabbit in the headlights (he did okay in some games for Guus to be honest), it's a testament to him that he's been keeping Willian out the team (despite the circumstances which meant Willian missed one or two games) because he's been rejuvenated and showed not only a good attitude that little bit of class he showed at Barcelona when he first broke in the team there and was playing regularly... not sure why Willian wasn't even in the squad despite playing for Brazil last week either.

Interestingly, after all the rumors about John Stone making a move to Chelsea last year got me interested in watching him anytime Everton was on TV. He makes just as many poor decisions that costs his team goals as Luiz. He just does not have the sideshow flair.

Most certainly a different window then some of the recent past where we loaned/sold Lukaku, Mata, Schurrle, Luiz, etc and bought the likes of Pedro, Cuadrado, Baba, etc.
I can think of three key acquisitions from Mourinho version 2.0: Willian, Costa and Fabregas.
I think Conte has the moves right for the most part, i.e. loaning out Cuadrado, even Traore to get him playing time and keeping Moses, etc.
I think we are only going to get better under Conte and with Kante bossing DM and Conte training Luiz, David will look better and bring the passion

Just think, Costa AND Luiz on the pitch at the same time! I do not believe they have ever been in Chelsea blue together, not even a friendly.
Could be a lot of emotion scoring and beating Arsenal, Man Utd., etc.

The more this sinks in the happier I am 
we need some passion and fight in the team - not the limp performances of last season
all of our defenders have a mistake in them - as do all other teams defenders - I just have a feeling this time round he will be a little more polished. 
I'm definitely looking forward to him and Zouma in defence - two big crazy characters  
Well done to all involved for rescuing the transfer window - decent signings, decent money - impressed  - I know I have been massively critical - but fair's fair - I was wrong and should have had more belief, I think last season jaded me more than I care to admit! 
Lets keep the pressure up on those Northern Monkeys and if the draw - we could be top after next game  Roll on!!!

You mean not as useless as Cuadrado, Pedro, Pato, Miazga, etc? I agree.
I would take Schurrle back too for his spirit and drive.

Fucking love Geezer. He was a great player for us in his first spell and he will be a great player for us again.

He is better than Cahill and Terry... Some of you are acting as if we downgraded our defence. 
He is a different type of CB. A flashy one. One with a whole lot of skill. All his mistakes were overblown when he played here, and I'm sure that won't change now that he is here again. His positioning is lazy at times, but he is a tough player along with the fact he is so skilled. He gives us pace up the back as well which is something we needed. 
 
For all the talk of his mistakes, I really don't think he makes any more than someone like Cahill or Kompany in recent years. 

Story seems  to be in a lot of places. Could still fall through, but what a tremendous "add" this would be. Hope it goes through and strengthens our central defence.

We finally have a attacking midfielder besides from Hazard who has the capability to get a considerable amount of goals. Just what we needed, great stuff!

I knew we could do it! Now please take care of my second wish and ship Cuadrado out!

I'm willing to bet he goes right back to the bench the next game. I haven't checked but it feels like he scores in virtually every game he's played significant minute in this season. significant minute meaning 30 minutes or more. Why he doesn't play more often I will never understand.
