  1. I don't want to think about that And I don't like the idea that we have to play on Mondays either. if everyone wins, it puts more pressure on us to win our games, and we're certainly not on fire at the moment that's for sure!!
  2. Couldn't agree more! He needs to play more often. He's the closest we have to a Makelele-esque player in a sense that he's almost as robust as him when he has the ball. Sometimes his tackles aren't perfect, but I feel he has that strength and willingness in him to win the ball back and get play going again. Essien isn't a Makelele player because he's much quicker and gets forward. His jobs are much different to him.
  3. Mikel should play as a holding midfield player because I feel that he's good there. I think apart from his consistent untentional challenges, he's a pretty solid player. I think the only reason why Mikel didn't play so well against Liverpool, is because he got booked in the first few seconds of the game, and had to be careful. If you think about it, a holding midfielder is renowned to go in for tackles to win the ball, a wrong move could get you a second yellow and get you sent off. Essien and Ramires should play off Mikel as two central midfield players. I'm starting to believe that Ramires is getting a grip in the midfield finally, and he's able to win the ball easier than he did when he started. Essien has gotten better, but he is still making sloppy passes in the middle, which really needs to be worked on.
  4. He did, until he went to Man City... ... when he was in Madrid, he had the world at his feet!
  5. I agree! I think Ramires works a lot harder and Essien, much as he has a sloppy pass or two also plays much better. Lampard's years have caught up on him to be fair, and injuries have cost him as well.
  6. Predicting that Drogba will leave in the summer is not a bad call! I believe Torres and Sturridge will be our two main strikers next season. As for Drogs, I predict he will return to Marseille, I don't think Galatasaray suits him.
  7. Depends on how well they do at their respective loan outfits and whether or not they're enjoying it there. You obviously don't want them to enjoy themselves too much else they would want a permanent move in the summer. That may sound strange, but If they aren't guraranteed a first team place here soon, they might want to stay where they are for the good of their development as a player. I fear that a little bit!
  8. I chose Albert Ferrer as right back! I thought he was really solid for us. Played a huge part in our Champions League season in 2000. You have to have a good leader at the back, so John Terry deserves to be picked without a doubt. Then of course, you need a quicker defender to play alongside him, someone who will sweep the ball away and be creative. Carvalho was certainly that when he was here, so I had to choose him. Desailly and Gallas would have been players to go for as well, but I just thought Terry and Carvalho would be the perfect partnership in defence. Finally, Ashley Cole at left back. Very quick, likes to make a run into the box, and is a really decent crosser of the ball.
  9. So did you get lucky then?? Spill the beans
  10. I recognise someone in that video!
  11. Ronaldo was such a great player all those years ago! Even when he was in his peak years he was exceptional! Stunning player That goal Jim posted reminds me a lot of the types of goals that Messi tends to score for Barca today!
  12. Hahah that's a good one man! But I think the British women would like his hairstyle more than anything!
  13. He's only played 2 games for Chelsea! Give him time to adjust, I'm sure he will come good eventually. I have faith in him!
  14. I will only agree with you if Mourinho comes back to us... ...much as he wants a return to the Premier League I don't think it will be to us, so in that case I'd rather back Carlo! I can't stand us getting yet another manager!
  15. I honestly think the years have begun to catch him up, and I think the injuries aren't helping him much either! The man who's meant to be dictating midfield like he used to do all those years ago just isn't at the moment. Ramires was our best midfield player, probably the best I've seen him in a Chelsea shirt as well. Give him credit, he made Murphy look like a school kid at times!
  16. exactly, especially against a team that just defends the whole game. Would be been awfully harsh if we had lost to that penalty!! Good thing we had safe hands Cech!! UP THE BLUES!! :blue scalf:
  17. ....oh god thank goodness for Cech!! Still, a quality performance, but another 2 points dropped
  18. oh David Luiz, what a game..... and then you go and do that :mouthclosed:
  19. Apologies for my recent outburst on Torres... ... to put things a bit more constructively, Torres needs to be given the right service from midfield, he's had some chances to get into the penalty box and score but the Fulham defence seem to not let him get near, and I think that's because Hughes has tactically made his defenders to mark him out of the game, and so far it's working. I think that with a good service (and so far it's worked, but just getting unlucky here and there) I'm hopeful Torres can score in this game.
  20. relax dude! I was just undermining his current display! I do realise it's just one game man!
  21. David Luiz... he looks like Puyol, and he plays like Puyol... superb!! as for Torres... it's Andriy Shevchenko all over again! A big money flop to be!
  22. By the way this should be in the Sexiest Women thread
  23. Not good signs for Bruma! There is still time however to improve over 4 months! He should get some games under his belt in that time!
