  1. you got that right mate! I don't expect Aguero to join Chelsea this January anyway. I thought it was David Luiz we were meant to be signing??
  2. It should be Rajkovic that goes to Benfica. At least there are problems with his work permit to play in England. It would make sense.
  3. Chelsea are still searching for a "solution" in their bid to sign Benfica defender David Luiz, according to the Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti. Chelsea are thought to have had a £17m bid for the Brazilian international, 23, rejected at the end of December. Speaking after Chelsea beat Bolton 4-0 on Monday, Ancelotti said nothing had been agreed between the two clubs. "He is the only signing we are trying to make but if it's not possible, nothing changes," stated the Italian. "He's a very good young player but we have not agreed anything." A centre-half who can also play at right or left-back, Luiz is valued by Portuguese side Benfica at £25.5m. Were he to join Chelsea, he would link up with fellow Brazilians, defender Alex and midfielder Ramires. ---------------- Source:- BBC Sport ---------------- for fucks sake, sign the player already
  4. I reckon Alex will be the one that's benched IMO. Much as I hate to admit it. I think Brano has done excellently well in his absence, and unfortunately for Alex, it will be tough to get back into the side now we've brough Luiz in. Don't forget as well Luiz is able to play in any position along the back four.
  5. Dude, take a chill pill, we won 4-0 tonight. A win like that boosts confidence!! Performance when you look at a win like that doesn't matter. What matters is that we have 4 goals, and 3 points in the bag. Don't write off the Chels! We'll be back up and running again after this!
  6. I'm hoping that as well, he has the presence of Carvalho so we can only hope he will play like him.
  7. Very true, and anyway, £50 million roughly on two players is wearing it a bit thin, particularly when we're trying to abide UEFA's new rules and try to break even by 2013. I'd be happy if we just signed David Luiz this January, at least we would have ourselves a Carvalho-esque player, and players like Daniel Sturridge would get some chances up front, at least until the end of the season.
  8. Excellent win for Chels! Need to carry on with this form now! The bad times are behind us!! and it's Bolton 0-13 Chelsea without conceding any goals :blue scalf:
  9. Half time 2-0 up! Good position to be in!! Very good position
  10. Chelsea looked sloppy there! Corner Bolton
  11. Get in there Malouda!!! 2-0 Don't fuck this up Chelsea for god's sake!!!
  12. Eek, I reckon Drogba dived there Bolton fans accusing us of cheating now ...
  13. Ramires is down in agony here... can't afford to lose another midfielder through injury
  14. Absolute belter from Drogba!! That's what I like to see!!
  15. Selling Alex would be fucking retarded, I tell you that now!! If it's cover at the back we need, then why are we swapping like for like, I thought Luiz was meant to add to the strength, not replace someone.
  16. it will probably be Ferreira that's going then! Or Bruma or even van Aanholt
  17. oh yeah of course! Fluminese are pretty big as well. Forgot to add them to my list
  18. is Zhirkov injured then?? Or haven't they even said that??
  19. I've set up a debateable thread here, determining which teams in Southern America are the best right now. Flamengo have signed Ronaldinho recently which is massive for them, you have Corinthians with Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo on their books. Cruzeiro, Ramires' former club are pretty big. I remember Juan Pablo Sorin playing for them at one stage Santos currently nurturing Ganso and Neymar right now. In fact, I've decided to set up a list of pretty decent teams in South America at the moment..... - Corinthians - Estudiantes de la Plata - Boca Juniors - Flamengo - Internacional - Santos - Cruzeiro - Independiente - River Plate - C.A. Banfield - Sao Paulo - Chivas de Guadalajara - Colo-Colo (Chile) - Once Caldas (Colombia) Then of course, you have some top teams from Major League Soccer... would you say a competition like the Copa Libertadores is as mind blowing as the Champions League??
  20. Only Roberto Carlos can score from a corner like that... and at 37 years of age that's unbelieveable!
  21. Zhirkov would make Arshavin feel at home, no doubt about that, and not forgetting the presence of Abramovich of course. If only Zhirkov was at a level where he was playing well for us. But Brano would be an excellent person to hang around with, since they've both experienced the Russian league.
  22. Ballack was a top free transfer. The only problem we had with him, was putting him in the same midfield as Lampard. Similarity of the two bothered us a hell of a lot, but as he got older, he got much better and more experienced as a player, and... more importantly, he loved being at the club. As for Carvalho, we got him immediately after he had a great Euro 2004, and at 26 years of age, I wouldn't say he was at a peak year. I see what you mean about Arshavin possibly coming to a club that's a lot different than what he's used to, but if you can imagine Arshavin coming to Arsenal first off and feeling exactly the same... yet he did rather well for them to start off with. It's all about team bonding at the end of the day.
  23. Benayoun is not Kakuta's grave digger at all. In fact I agree with zolayes, even though Yossi has been out for so long, it isn't as if Kakuta has started many games for us anyway, it's mainly been about Malouda/Anelka/Kalou as our wingers. And even though they're on terrible form at the moment, if you look at where we are in the league, we have no choice but to persevere and keep playing out best team until we get some good form. If we were doing well on the other hand, Ancelotti would have given some game time to Kakuta to get the experience, but right now, that's not the reality here.
