McEachran is a quality player, but it goes back to the point I made about developing youngsters too quickly. The fact of the matter is, we need to freshen the squad in any way we can, and if they reckon McCarthy fits in their categories, then I'm all for it. What I don't seem to grasp however, is the fact that this has been said in the past, and we haven't materialised on it. I honestly believe Chelsea are being edged out here by Everton. I think the home side have had much the better chances, and I also think Tim Howard is hard to beat at the moment. Generally however, I feel it's our midfiel that's not functioning properly. Essien got muscled out of a challenge which hardly ever gets seen!!
