Sounds like Chelsea will buy a striker this summer, keep Diego for another season (maybe), then sell. I would rather be rid of him, but please don't give him another contract if he does stay a little longer. We need a better striker, period.
-
except that AFC have the best goalscoring player of either side.
-
How did this retard of a referee end up in the Cup Final? Anthony Taylor is one of the worst PL referees.
-
Yeah, he's going to try it in the PL. Let's see how that goes. Not saying it can't be done, but I doubt it will work out for him without better defenders and depth in CM. Hope they fuck it all up.
-
Mbappe seems like the one (attacker) to miss, not B. Silva. If this were Chelsea buying a small body attacking MF BEFORE addressing the def. line and CM and WB areas, I would be pissed. Funny though, ManCity weren't strong at the back this year. Let's have a laugh. I think we have the better manager too.
-
I think the next challenge is finding two strikers for next season, plus more for CM, WB and maybe a centre back. Gary Neville has a point about keeping the players motivated, but I think having more quality and depth in the squad along with goalscoring will be the key because Conte and his staff seems to do well enough with training and motivation (Costa excepted).

What needs to be said about Antonio's work at CFC so far has likely been said all evening yesterday. I just want to say that I cannot state with enough gratitude how wonderful it is to have Antonio as our manager after what we've seen at our club during the past decade. I would really like to see our club now make good buys in the transfer window and give Antonio the further support he needs to stay at CFC and be successful across competitions for years to come. We are privileged to have a manager who was a centre midfielder at a top European club, who knows every angle of the game, every inch of grass and sees space, deficiencies, opportunities very clearly --like an astute all-around footballer with a good tactical brain. One other note: the side we had 12 years ago was certainly better than the current squad, but Antonio made the most of this squad with the formation he chose, his planning of training sessions and attention to his players. I am so happy for Antonio and CFC. Long may Antonio reign here!

Choose the striker that finishes more competently and who might develop a little bit of deception or elusiveness. Lukaku and Morata can improve, but I doubt Lukaku every becomes elusive or deceptive. Belotti... might be greater. Patrik Schick looks an interesting one also; so cool and accurate with his shots.
-
Traore and Rafael on a relegation side? We still need a baller with speed as an alternative there while we aspire to much greater than beating mediocre Premier League sides. Good game from him nonetheless.
-
that was partially my jab at Arsenal, but on Blackburn: I wasn't watching the Prem at that time due to not having access in the U.S. --but I knew about Alan Shearer (despite England failing to qualify for the '94 tournament in the U.S.).
-
Blackburn, Leicester, Arsenal?
-
I'll take Morata over Lukaku. Of course, there are 3 to 5 other strikers on the mainland worth considering too.
-
Good win. I didn't see a CF on that pitch worth a **** though.

Hazard the most dangerous player who does shoot enough. Cahill, Kante, Hazard, Costa lead us to victory. Now it looks like a tough fixture list for Spurs. Maybe me and David Luiz were wrong. WBA and Everton away for us, a lot more challenging for Spurs IMO.

There's not really any basis for talk about Kenedy's play or improvement though, is there? Continuity player? How about getting match minutes before we talk about what he is or is not? I am speaking purely from an attacking point of view and athletic point of view (pace, strength), Kenedy would need to improve defensively and the rest is all about getting some time on the pitch. Maybe we just sell him after all.
-
Respect yes, but I'm not talking to him nor any of his teammates or friends/family on this forum. Good solder, but Chelsea are concerned about the next level (we would hope).
-
No, but I mean IMHO, those two positions (or three, perhaps, if you count FB, CM and WB) are where the most well-rounded footballers typically exist. Is the all-rounder more rare nowadays?
-
Been a problem at Chelsea for a long time, for sure. Let's hope the problem is solved soon for the sake of our future and Conte at CFC (and for the sake of keeping and supporting Eden). I knew Alonso was never a solution; in fact, IDK how much use he is as a backup to be perfectly honest. If Kenedy becomes a good defender, he's a more viable backup.
-
Sounds almost right. Of course, I'm guessing that you're one who would rather have a player like a Belotti or Mbappe? fullbacks and wingbacks are a such premium right now and maybe getting one top-notch WB/FB seems like a big task for any club. Does it seem like the all-around footballer who plays well at FB or CM is more rare nowadays?
-
Hope this isn't true, but one wonders how much money Jose will finally spend at United. http://metro.co.uk/2017/04/22/manchester-united-close-in-on-84m-andrea-belotti-to-replace-zlatan-ibrahimovic-6591641/

good reply.

entertaining match. I'm happy about Ake. maybe we will keep him this summer. would be nice to see Bats have a good end of the season, or for Ruben to get playing time; Diego is a fucking useless cnut.
-
Mbappe and Belotti are the two young fantasy football/football manager choices and one of them should probably be a target for us even if we only alternate between two-striker and two-winger setups.
-
It's a tough call, but I think we clearly NEED TWO STRIKERS THIS SUMMER if we assume Batshuayi isn't going to make it at CFC. Abraham might be third striker or loaned out again.
