Good manager, but not the Prem.

I wonder if this is the final marriage or at least the final one that costs him. Funny how much marriage costs even "smart" rich men. Slaves of biology and a traditional institution.

Here's one for the "calm" people not yet overly concerned about Chelsea's so-called problems right now: I propose that without more quality buys in the market, Chelsea are one N'Golo Kante injury from falling down to 10th position or lower. So, contrarians and "calm," "mature" Chelsea fans, how about naming another side in the Prem that with one injury can drop in the table so precipitously. Hint: you won't come up with one. You're welcome. Unless something magical happens in the next 2-3 weeks, Granovskaia needs to fucking leave. Probably Emenalo too.

Judging by Batshuayi's inability to create good transition play, I think we another striker. We need another CM. We need another LWB. Wishful thinking: Llorente/Gabbiadini, Gareth Bale, and a younger, quicker version of Borja Valero or young version of Riquelme for CM, plus, maybe another centre back.
-
How much is a 28 y.o. Gareth Bale worth and can he be our LWB?

Watching two players Chelsea should have already signed in the past couple years: Pjanic and Sandro.
-
If the final result of this transfer window is a thin squad followed by the season of failure we're expecting as a consequence, I don't see a good reason for Antonio to stay here. I also don't see a good reason to keep watching this potential shit show myself. In other words, this series of events will be the last thing that completely breaks my interest in the club unless something changes at CFC. Again, this is contingent upon X, Y, and Z, but right now, it looks like X, Y, and Z will happen.

Candreva, VVD, a player from PSG, and hopefully something happens with Sandro for us... things can get better. #WTFSUMMER2017CFC

Headline today in the UK: "Barca want to blow the lot on Hazard." So wrong.
-
There's talk of a Spinazzola deal from ATL to Juve today. Maybe we still have a shot.
-
WTF is going on with this club?????
-
This is such a bizarre summer window for this club. Is it an identity crisis?

Difference of opinion between Conte and myself, but the silliest thing about this match was arguably the formation and/or selection of players. Morata, for one, didn't have much chance next to Alonso and Fabregas when asked to push an attack (with Bats smothered). The centre midfield didn't have a chance with only Cesc and N'golo --as has been pointed out. Without Luiz in the back, Chelsea look shit-outta-options. Team desperately needs more in CM, WBs, and really looks set to struggle defensively with the back line as a whole. How many times will Luiz be there to compensate over the coming season? Not superman forever. Even with 3-4 signings --some of which need to become gems on the pitch, I think we're looking at a season full of struggles and disappointments. Hopefully CFC sees this already and doesn't expect Conte to possess the squad with ability beyond what is actually there.

A few things I saw in this match: Inter packed it tight and defended well through the middle. The young Slovakian, Skriniar is a strong defender; looks like another Vidic/Samuel. Bats had little space. Chelsea are lacking in centre midfield and maybe centre back. Definitely lacking at wingback positions. Nice showing for Musonda. Kante strong match.

I think Juve will accept the new offer soon.
-
Is this thing really happening? Another birthday for Chelsea fans?
-
1. No 2. Yes 3. Wrong 4. may be needed, yes, but probably NOT the top priority 5. Wrong Forget about the CL for the moment and consider simply challenging for the PL title again with better wingback options/depth, more depth in CM and possibly one more scoring forward (because Hazard and Willian are not great shooters from open play). We need a top WB for competition and rest at LWB. I feel Alonso can put in good crosses for Morata (but I doubt Moses will), yet Alonso has severe lack of pace and can't take on defender very well head-on. NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN BREAK THE OPPOSITION FROM THOSE AREAS.

I want to believe that this guy is a supercool deadeye striker like a Berbatov/vanNistelrooy. I've not seen him enough, but the highlights I've watched of him make him look so exceptional. Seems like a definite buy to me.

We're also thin in CM unless you think that Pasalic, another youngster (or Alonso), Bakayoko, Kante and Fabregas provide enough depth in CM.
-
stupid that the club apologize. wrong PR move.
-
There's a general shortage of top-notch players for the wing back positions, so Ox is a good choice right now for this and number of other reasons. Ox may also improve when he comes to Chelsea and I don't see him being overrated at all; Arsenal fans just need something to feel good about, right?
-
buying Ox and Mendy/Sandro would make our squad look pretty damn strong. A little more depth in MF and attack and we would have a squad to rival Europe's best for the future, IMO.
-
Do us all a favor and avoid discussing this underwhelming player on this forum. How nice it is that we have Fabregas and not him; we need not bring him up.
