The FA Cup is the largest, most renowned domestic trophy in European football. It's the cup that every Premiership team desires more than anything else. Past winners include the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. Its appeal also stems from the fact that English league minnows, clubs from the lower divisions, can be drawn against the best of the best. With this in mind, the FA Cup is an unpredictable game, this season already playing host to two giant-killing games with Leeds United knocking out Tottenham and Oldham majestically conquering Liverpool. It's an exciting competition to have a bet on, that's for sure, so perhaps consider visiting wageronsports.com for more information. The site also looks at strategies for a plethora of other sports, enabling you to do pretty much anything, including having a little wager on college football if you'd like. Chelsea are the current holders of the UEFA Champions League, the biggest club competition in the world. Their season has stumbled of late, however, and losing manager Roberto Di Matteo was a blow, a blow that has not been softened by the arrival of former Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez. They are also the current holders of the FA Cup and have struggled to repeat last season's form, having to replay the majority of their matches against lower-league teams. With a very intriguing tie against Manchester United on the horizon, Chelsea, their staff and their players, need to seriously think about how they're going to retain their trophy, especially as many agree that it wont be too easy doing so. The key here is to not get ahead of themselves; they have a tie to play against Middlesbrough first, a win setting up a game with Manchester United. That can't enter their heads, however, as they need to focus on the game in hand. They certainly have the players to win the competition, the likes of Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Oscar and Ramires all keen goal-scorers and they'll need to be deployed effectively. Finally, Benitez needs to appease the fans by selecting a balanced team, brimming with offensive intent as well as steely guard. This means using the likes of Mata, Demba Ba and Hazard, backed up by Chelsea talismans such as Ashley Cole, John Terry and, perhaps most importantly, Frank Lampard. Once Benitez gets the balance right, it will fall into place for the Blues. Click here to view the article

The Chelsea Football Fancast In ChelTel’s penultimate show, Stamford Chidge & the crew are joined by twitter’s @ChelseaChadder to discuss the games against Sparta Prague and Brentford plus the usual lunacy, the ‘Fannies’ and ‘If you don’t ask…!’ As always a fun packed week for the True Blue Massive as they enjoyed one of life’s great away trips in Prague, followed up by a sunny lunchtime Sunday win in the FA Cup 4th round against a swarm of Bees! The football was still a bit dodgy against two inferior sides, but hey, it seems churlish to complain when we’re winning! All this plus Luiz trying to commit murder…apparently…God like status for 199 goal Super Frankie Lampard…JT and Rafa having a row…or not, and both Roman and Average Grant spotted in the Stamford Bridge crowd…what if anything can we read in to that! On the show we discuss the matches against Sparta Prague and Brentford and as always we’ve got the Fannies where we award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. We’ve also got Lauren’s loan report, and to wrap up we have another edition of “If you don’t ask, you don’t get”, where the listeners get to ask the panel a question about life, football…anything! Don’t forget you can now listen to the show live every Monday night at 19.00 GMT by going to mixlr.com/chelsea-fancast on your computer or IPhone, and you’ll be able to interact with us live on mixlr, and twitter @ChelseaFanCast. In what could be a developing scandal at Chelsea, midfielder Florent Malouda is telling the media that he is set to "explode" details regarding his relegation the U-21 squad as soon as his contract with the team expires during the summer. Malouda has not been in the main squad since the end of July and was told to join the U-21 squad until his contract expires. Over the summer Malouda had requested to be transferred away from Stamford Bridge, talks with teams broke down after Malouda reportedly refused a reduction in salary. In an interview with the France-Guyane, Malouda stated that "The details, I'm going to explode them when I'm free, but the strategy employed is to make me look like a player who wants to be paid a lot. It's underhand, but it makes me smile more than anything else because it shows just how much esteem those people have for me." If the details regarding his relegation are underhanded like he claims, the incident could give the club a black eye in the media and even interfere with EPL sponsorship deals like the one the club has with 188bet. Companies are not usually keen to be associated with organizations that are working underhanded deals. With that said, this could just be a case of sour grapes on the part of Malouda. So far, he seems to be the only person really causing any controversy over the matter. Back in September he tweeted a photo of him entering the U-21 team's facility saying that "This is where I'll train for my last season with the blues." Malouda also claims the team is trying to break him by the relegation saying that "If you're excluded for a whole year, it's very, very long. You have to be ready mentally. All of this is being done to break me mentally. In reality, it motivates me hugely." Whether or not this is just a publicity stunt to make Malouda look better in the eyes of any future team prospects remains to be seen. Considering his lackluster overall efforts in the 2011-12 season, there is a strong chance that his relegation is due to ability and his unwillingness to make a move rather than underhanded dealings. However, we will find out more from Malouda on the matter later this summer once his contract expires. Click here to view the article
