Jeffrey Bruma's move to PSV has now officially gone through after the revelation that the young defender has a heart condition. He is thought to have cost PSV in the region of £2.6m and joins on a four-year deal. PSV technical director Marcel Brands told PSV's official website. "Bruma is a defender that we would have wanted sooner. Unfortunately, it took a little longer than we had hoped for, but we are pleased that he is here." Bruma only made 4 appearances for Chelsea in the league after he was signed in 2007, having been loaned out from the Blues on two different occasions. The defender spent 4 months in 2011 at Watford, and then the whole 2012 season in Germany playing for Hamburger SV. Last season he scored just the once in his eighteen matches for Hamburg, with almost half of those coming from the bench. Click here to view the article

Vitesse Arnhem have resigned Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt on a season-long loan. The Dutch left-back has agreed his third spell with the Eredivisie club having also spent time in his homeland in the second half of the 2011/2012 season, along with all of the last campaign. Van Aanholt, 22, is highly rated at Chelsea, who on Friday signed midfielder Marco van Ginkel from Vitesse, but he would face tough competition for places with Ashley Cole and Ryan Bertrand. A statement on Vitesse's official website read: "Patrick van Aanholt will play again next season at Vitesse. "The 22-year-old defender is hired for a season from Chelsea Football Club. Van Aanholt begins his third season in Arnhem." Click here to view the article

Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu would consider a return to Spain with Valencia, according to compatriot Sergio Canales. Canales, who currently plays for Valencia, told Superdeporte: "I have spoken to Oriol and I say sincerely that he is very taken by the option of Valencia. The squad is perfect for a player to progress." The news follows Chelsea's signings of Dutch sensation Marco van Ginkel and reported interest in Roma's Daniele De Rossi, both of whom play in midfield. This would make it increasingly difficult for Romeu to break into the first team, therefore it is believed that Chelsea are willing to let him leave on loan. Valencia are not the only club chasing Romeu, as Celta Vigo are also reportedly interested. The 21-year-old has featured 22 times during his Chelsea career since signing from Barcelona in 2011; most of those appearances came under former boss Andre Villas-Boas. However, he fell out of favour under Roberto Di Matteo, while injury limited his opportunities during Rafael Benitez's tenure. It is believed that Mourinho sees Romeu as dispensable, hence allowing him to leave on loan and pursuing other targets. Click here to view the article

New Chelsea Jose Mourinho boss is closing in on the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso this summer, according to the Daily Star. Mourinho had given up hope of bringing the Spanish international with him to West London from the Spanish capital but Real’s interest in signing Real Sociedad star Asier Illarramendi could pave the way for Alonso’s exit. The 31 year old is still considered one of the best central midfield men in the world and would fill a void in the Chelsea side that was filled by the likes of David Luiz, Ramires and John Obi Mikel last season. Mourinho is wasting no time in forming his own side at Stamford Bridge as he looks to thrust the Blues back into the title race this season. Alonso still has a lot of affection towards Liverpool where he made his name under Rafa Benitez but a final chance to get a big move under his belt may be too hard to turn down. Chelsea youngster Lucas Piazon has hinted that he would welcome a loan move to another Premier League side next season. The 19-year-old Brazilian spent last season on-loan at Malaga in La Liga and admits that his first-team opportunities may still be limited at Chelsea. A temporary move to another English club is an option he is willing to consider. "It's hard to say how often I will play or if I will play at all," he told ESPN Brazil. "We have to wait and see if any Premier League clubs will be interested in me." Piazon also welcomed new boss Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge and is relishing linking-up with the Portuguese tactician. "I am excited, everything will change," he added. "It will be very good to work with someone like Mourinho." Click here to view the article
