I guess the thing with Torres is the enormous price tag.

If you spend lots of cash to buy a Lamborghini, you expect that the first time you put your foot down its going to give you perfromance, if it dosn't naturally your going to be dissapointed, lots of bucks potntially down the gurgle, especially when a hyundai drives past with the driver waving at you.

Look at Sturridge, we loan the guy out and he's getting doubles for Bolton - irony? He's more like a beefed up Sedan, cheap but bang for buck. Couldn't we just spend 15m on a striker? Heck Drogba cost that much.

Yes give Torres time but I think its ok to be dissapointed, its different as a supporter to give him stick because we all want him to be the player he needs to be unlike the rest of the haters out there who support shit teams or the media.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has leapt to the defence of Fernando Torres after a second consecutive performance of disappointing measures.

Torres failed to rediscover his spark in a blue shirt on his debut against former club Liverpool, and misfired once again as Fulham held Chelsea to a goalless draw on Monday.

The Spaniard made a record £50million move to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day last month but is yet to break his scoring duck after missing a series of chances at Craven Cottage.

Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti substituted the striker with 19 minutes remaining but Cech believes he has seen enough to be convinced of his credentials as Chelsea look to get their season back on track.

He told the club's official website: "I think he made very good movements throughout the 60 or 70 minutes he was on the pitch and he found quite quickly the understanding with everybody.

"It wasn't to be to score a goal but it looks very promising," added the Czech Republic international.

Fellow new-boy David Luiz, who made his first start against the Cottagers after coming on as a sub against Liverpool, gifted Fulham an injury-time penalty, which Clint Dempsey saw saved by Cech.

Luiz, though, has earned rave reviews for his performance prior to that late mishap, and Cech fully expects the Brazilian to justify the £25million Chelsea paid Benfica for his services.

He said: "It just shows why Chelsea bought him because he really is a great addition to the squad.

"The way he went to the ball, I sensed he could choose the easy option, which is to go harder and across, so that's why I chose to go there," he said.

Chelsea now lie 12 points off Premier League leaders Manchester United and face a fight to finish inside the top four as they currently occupy 5th place with just 12 games remaining.

Cech concedes the Blues have given themselves a mountain to climb in terms of retaining their league title, but he will not give up until it is mathematically impossible to overhaul the deficit.

"Obviously, we are quite far now because they won their games and we dropped points but there is still a way to go and we will fight to the end," he said.

He left Liverpool (the media's little darling) for Chelsea (the Hitler of football) for 50 million a massive price tag, the media are gonna be on his every move from now on and quick to jump on him the second he puts a foot wrong or doesnt get 15 hat tricks in 20 minutes.

Chelsea fans will be happy with what he's given so far, he needs time to adapt the rest of the team need to regain form he can't carry the whole team if they aren't performing. Of course other fans are gonna give us stick and say we overpaid for a player that's not performing.

Give him time if we can't turn this season around next season he will be the Torres we all know.

Not meaning to state the obvious,but

It would help if Ancelotti actually kept Torres on the pitch for 90 minutes

it would help if Ancelotti played the formation to fit Torres in.

Torres needs another 1 or 2 games to find his scoring form.He can't play Saturday(cup-tied) but hopefully Copenhagen take the backlash of Torres's frustration.

his best chance was in first 5 mins against Scumpool ..should have scored or even played Drog in ...If he had everything would have different ..
