LDN Blue 7,903
First Tunisia and now Egypt. People are now waking up around the world and activating their "right to democracy" by uniting to push out their puppet governments! Have a huge amount of respect for the students who started the wave in Tunisia, and for the people who carried on in Egypt! Kostas 1,468
The old puppet governments will be replaced by new puppet governments or else the countries will be isolated. Sure more freedom in the Arab world is a step in the right direction but you gotta question the freedom that the people of the west enjoy. Though the act of revolution is inspiring and as we see, it's having an effect on other countries. The puppets being replaced by others is a valid point though, one just needs to look back on Tunisia now, we were sure that was going to happen in the 60sEven in the 70's with the Cuban Missile Crisis & The Cold War**American propaganda war. Kostas 1,468
Agreed. Though the act of revolution is inspiring and as we see, it's having an effect on other countries.I actually wonder whether it will affect some European states. The way I see things there really is not way up for the PIIGS in the foreseable future and eventually desperation may lead to revolutions. I was in favour of letting Ireland bankrupt themselves, so they could rebuild their economy themselves. Now they're at the mercy of the IMF and thus, America. LDN Blue 7,903
Why would you want that? The Euro has been one of the main factors we're seeing these Eurozone countries collapse, I remember reading how even from the beginning it was doomed to fail. I don't oppose having a European Union because it's good for trade, but the Eurozone (thus Euro) is something that is clearly not working and needs to be taken out of Europe now. Then the recession took its toll. At the end it also matters how companies are run. Some survived it quite successfully, some didn't. But I fear an American intervention will just see more and more puppet leaders emerge, oil prices are taking a bad hit as it is over the trouble in EgyptNo. Euro is good and good for trading as you mention it.What is bad is small minimum wages in some countries. The real inflation levels of it must be awful and I personally believe if countries return to their own currency it'll be better in the long run. In Serbia for example who are not in the EU, but they have their own currency and the inflation there can be ridiculous.I think the bigger problem is unemployment and low salaries. Sure prices have been raised all over Europe, but salaries haven't
