Tomo 21,751
Maybe England should do the bootroom approach?Manager's go up the age groups until they find their way into the main team, it might be the first baby steps to transforming the English coaching system and prevent dinosaurs like Pearce and Roy finding themself's in the hot seat. You can imagine Cole and Lamps having a little bit of a culture shock next season, after three/four weeks playing under the worlds best manager they then leave for a week to be managed by Roy Hogsdon. Its actually quite funny when you think about it, Its like spending three weeks in Canary Island's followed by one week in North Korea. Tomo 21,751
That's what I told you at the start of last season . He should have stayed here or at least at a club with players who make good attacking runs.Anyway, I couldn't agree more with the rest of your post. I just hope Jose can restore his confidence, cause its probably been shot to pieces after last season.tbh if our manager doesn't have a track record of giving players extreme confidence i would say give Josh another loan, but i really feel Jose can get something out of him. CHOULO19 24,332
He's played more than 10 minutes, lol.No he hadn't before today. He came on in the 79th min against Italy and did not feature against Norway. That's why I was implying that your comment about him doing badly in this tournament before this match was unfair. That's why I was implying that your comment about him doing badly in this tournament before this match was unfair. I'm still right then, you said 10 minutes. He came on in the 79th, that's 11 minutes. Plus added time. :eyebrows:
CHOULO19 24,332
Was thinking about Josh today. I think it is best that he stays with first team next year and is given some chances in the cups, but would loaning him to Vitesse be such a bad thing? It would certainly suite him better than the Championship. The Eredivisie is the type of fast tactical league that would be perfect for someone like Josh. Blue Gino 377
I like Josh and wanted to see him in the squad but it's looking bleak for him especially if the Van Ginkel deal happens, wether that's followed by a loan or not. Where does Josh even fit in anymore? Certainly not in the attacking midfield where Marin can't even get a sniff, and not in CM where there's Oscar, KDB, Lampard and Ramires. Unfortunately for Josh he hasn't earned the plaudits that Chalobah has and he's slowly fading away from sight. Yes I watched him all season at Boro and Leadbitter was preferred more at CAM and Josh was pushed farther back and even asked to help out the fullbacks which did nothing to put his passing ability on showcase. He's not the flashy type but he would have been a bigger help if Mowbray played him at CAM with his passing range, especially with club in freefall mode in 2013. Being benched at Swansea was kind of understandable at the time but having Leadbitter preferred by Mowbray did him no good.

CHOULO19 24,332
https://vimeo.com/68336730The technique of the passing Seriously his passing technique is almost perfect. The pass always has just the right amount of pace on it, and he makes it look so effortless and easy.

Funkyflashman 187
Him and Oscar always look as though they've come to the game straight from school...Weird to think a couple of years ago we had a super old squad
The only place to be 11,313
fame has gotten to his headHe's really not that type of lad. He's very meek and that is part of the problem because I don't think he's got that nastiness in him. If you look at his background, he didn't grow up in a rough neighbourhood where football was his only way out. He's had a fairly comfortable life and sometimes that can be to the detriment of a player's fighting spirit. Now there are obvious exceptions and I'm by no means saying all footballers grew up on the wrong side of the tracks (Frank is a fantastic example of a person who came from a good background but still had an almighty hunger and developed a great work ethic) but Josh really needs to get some swagger and act a bit of a cunt. He's got fantastic technique on the ball, he just needs to fight a little bit harder to get on it more and create space. Oscar manages it - he really muscles people off the ball and uses his arse to create space for himself. Josh needs to watch him a bit. haranr 485
He only has one problem and that's his lack of confident. If he wants to become one of the bests like Lampard he must show more confident.
5354 204
I think poor development actually stalled his career. The move to Swansea was terrible. Then to Middlesbrough where he got game time, but the team was playing badly.
Mceachran 109
Very simple: Bring him into practice with the first team squad and tell him "Until August, your are not allowed to pass the ball backwards or square".
asand 7
He has to be told to work his arse off for sixty minutes rather than pace him self for ninety too. He hasn't got anywhere near enough work-rate to make it atm.
Slam Dunk 1,442
I would love to see him come on and make a few rash challenges like Marin did vs. QPR. That'd be enough to tell me he can still make it.
TrippingStep 336
His problem is his lack of athletic attribute, he's not powerful, not a lot of pace, and is not very good shielding the ball.

CHOULO19 24,332
last two years have been disappointing similar to Kakuta. I am not comparing their attitudes merely their progress.I agree. And I feel the club has to take a lot of the blame for that. The loans we've sent him on have been completely unfitting.
