Madmax 9,219
I'm not a fan of goalies or strikers being captains, I think defenders and midfielders are best suited for the armband. Of course the captain needs to be a bloke who's well respected and inspirational. I'd pick Essien with DD as vice-captain.
BLionheart 516
if we are looking for inspiration during terry's absence , there is one man who is best suited for this job ... it's Didier Drogba
Mungii 3
Drogba will do it and that is really good choise. He loves the club, payers like him so there isn't a problem. And let's go and win it all...
DavidEU 2,023
Players come out in interviews and say there is a group of leaders in the dressing room, JT, Frank and Didi. And behind them, theres a second group of Cech, Essien, think Carvalho and Joe were in there too. Therefore, i'd imagine it'd be Didi. Good choice. Gianfranco_Z 202
Cech and Essien I think are too quiet. Drogba is the man for the job definitely.

Plus, he stop playing for Ghana with a good reason for a contribute to the club... At lease he is an idol in the field.
Luke 60
If your looking for someone to inspire the team while JT and Lamps are out, there is only one choice in my eyes... Drogba.
gary gordon 1,777
This should really be a no brainer... Besides Cech, Drogba has been at the club longer than any of the remaining player's and has age and experience.. He has love for the supporters and they have love for him. Give him the armband!Last time Ashley cole was captian was against QPR in the FA CUP in 2008, and it lasted about 1 hour...

Kostas 1,468
Ok it looks like Drogba is our 3rd choice captain but did I see Ashley Cole turning the armband down during the game?!
Rambo 1,729
I believe so but that could just be out of respect for Didier. Who knows, JT could`ve just had a word with him about organizing the back as well.
DavidEU 2,023
Seems like it hadn't been discussed before. JT probably just went to give it to Ash because Ash is next to JT on the pitch, they discussed it and realised Didier was the best option.I'd have no problems with Ashley wearing the armband. He's properly 'one of us' to me now.
chrismada9 1,948
I'd like to see Essien be third choice, he has experience being a captain already this season, against Ajax in pre-season. He's commited, is easily a fan's favourite, and it's powerful midfielders like him who make good leaders I reckon.Alternatively, I'd like to see Drogba make third choice

LDN Blue 7,903
I'd have liked to see Ashley Cole take it. But fair do's to him saying it should go to Drogba instead!

I like my captains to be vocal. Which JT, Lamps and Didier always are.
