unless your kid makes something of themselves and makes you rich...animals don't do that

If someone has kids with the intention of them making their parents rich in the future, then that's just immoral. The parents have lived a poor life and have made nothing out of THEMSELVES and expect the child to carry them. Only cowards to that, who are afraid of hardship and lack determination and willingness to work hard for their own dreams and success.

They also don't give the same love and affection as dogs do. If someone starts feeding your cat nicer food, it's no longer your cat. Evil animals. I hate them.

This made me laugh so hard.

It all depends. If you're an active person with a proper sized home for a dog, get a dog. They are great and loyal. But only take an animal if you're willing to put in the work and feed him, play with him. Animal won't be a side hobby, it will be a huge a part of your life. That's what makes it all so great. I love how sincere animals are, if they are angry, you will get bitten but never back-stabbed.

I own a cat, took her from the shelter and it has been like winning a jackpot. Golden character, she is very playful, affectionate and follows me around everywhere. Best part about him is that she isn't a easily scared cat, so she doesn't hide under the table etc. Only bad thing about her is that she is too brave. When, for example, I get into a fight with my brother, she attacks him aswell. :D

Don't take an animal, because it is cute and cuddly, take it for the right reasons. There are enough animals being killed because idiots and spoiled prats want to play home. Like I said, if you know how to look, shelters are a great place for a friend for life. Animals that come out of shelters KNOW you saved them, believe me.

Definetly agree!

I see many people buying dogs because they want to have a baby, but think it is too much work and too expensive. They end up either giving up on the dog or the dog becomes those human looking pets (eating real food and using clothes). Dogs are dogs and in my humble opinion they feel much happier being treated like dogs and not like humans, with love and care.

I would love to have a dog, but I know I definetly dont want all the stuff it comes with it. Yes, they are amazing friends and there are incredible stories about dogs and their owners. However, I have absolutely no patience to walk with him twice a day, to educate him on how and where to pee and poo, take him to the pet shop and play with him all day long. I also remember of me complaining of the smell and noise my brother's pug used to have, lol.

Cats on the other hand, are really easy to take care of. I didnt know I would like it so much, I basically spent the whole weekend playing with him! He is very very playful and likes to just sit on my lap asking for attention. He also hardly meows and is very independent, so that is a good thing (I hate dog bark). I just stopped in a pet shop and bought some cool toys for the little one, I hope he likes them. I am loving it really!

Dogs have their advantages and disadvantages, so do cats. Each person will know what it is best for them...

P.S: I hope my cat come to help me as well! :D

Being european is sad. Not that I usually talk to strangers at the bus or public spaces but if you can't even look at them is awful.

Hmmm, wouldnt put it like that...

This says it all for me, different aproaches to the same situation: "Talvez vocês entendam que ser educado é fazer o outro se sentir querido e nós somos mais preocupados em não ofendermos. São sensibilidades diferentes".

I agree we are more sociable and cool though! B)

I don't know, the way that journalist put it, it looks like to me that people get offended even by you looking at them. The guy he mentions got all red because he was caught looking to other person's NEWSPAPER! WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT. I agree that staring is unpolite and everything but people getting offended because you just looked at them for some seconds is crazy.

HAHAHHAHAHAHA, it is not called crazy, it is called being European!

Like, we do things with 'strangers' or 'newly met friends' that is unthikable in strong relationships in Europe. It is who we are, we have no boundaries or shyness. I love this characteristic, but I can totally understand why it might be offensive. ;)

I get what you are saying, but we are more social than the normal already highly social brazilians (gotta admit that)...
