benji_blue 3
Guys I really dont know what to say?? I love JT I always have, but the whole bridge-gate affair (in more ways than one) I think has affected Terry, he is not the player he was in the championship winning seasons. But there is no player in the world that can perform season after season like that. I do believe that no player is bigger than the club and JT seems to think he is.I think we need to retain him, he has been a great servant to the club, but shouldnt the team be choosen on performance? which is exactly the same argument which happens with the England team. I know I may sound like I am contradicting myself in this post but it is just cause I dont know what to think about JT, the only thing I wish more than anything is for JT to show the toughness, the grit, and the responisbility of a true leader which we know he can be.Lets hope that the suspension is a blessing in disguise and that it will give him time to reflect about his performance, especially for England this summer!!!Benji
Cameron 30
I really hope this is just a dip in form, and that he is back to his best ASAP. Stripping him of the captaincy wont help, dropping him wont help either. All he needs is to have a little word with himself, sit out the Stoke game and re-charge his batteries.Since when does form get decided by the performance of one game?Take his last four matches: One awful showing and three excellent matches. He's in good form.
Clevemayer 764
till the bridge sage his passing accuracy was over 90 %, so what you guys are talking about? and his tacklings was about 86%, Your acting like the media when cech dosent save a ball which goes high left right uner the crossbar, while he was standing at the right post... i cant hear it anymore... hes outstanding this season again, despite 3 or 4 bad games... and now look at rio, vidic, puyol (was sent off a couple of weeks ago, too)... i'm wondering nobody of you is calling for Ben-Haim as JT-Replacement... sLOVEnian Blue 74
He is great this year and just because he played one or two bad games it doesn't mean we have to bench him.I can't imagine our defence without him and he is a true captain and our leader. He is also very strong and almost never gets injured so for me he is the best defender in the world.
Luke 60
JT is an outstanding defender but he was awful on Saturday in a game we REALLY needed to win, I started this thread to see what peoples opinions are on his performances this season.Anyone can see he hasnt been playing as well as he has in previous season's, but I wouldnt go as far as stripping the captaincy or dropping him, as I said, the one game ban may come as a blessing for him to recharge his batteries and get his head right. World class players dont turn shite overnight. He has had some great performances this season (WHU away and Hull away for example) but he has had some bad ones too (AV away, Everton away) and his performance on Saturday was embarressing.Whatever it is thats wrong in JT's head, I hope gets sorted during the next 2 weeks ready for Liverpool.I hope he has a good World Cup and wins back the hearts of the nation (a last minute winner would do the trick or something) and then he can concentrate on his football and come back bigger and stronger next season. The abuse he gets must affect him, I feel for the guy. Edited April 19, 2010 by Luke
BlueLion. 21,491
well could you tell your son that JT is Mr Invincible and not Mr Invisable, ithink the poor lad was blinded by the performance @ the restI must admit though JT is giving me nightmares of late drop him! no effing way i'd rather have JT there than anybody effing hell who are you going to have there in his place regards: JBDWho do we have there in his place? Well, maybe Ivanovic and Alex, seeing as though they're both better centre backs.

ZanSnake 1,211
I think all Terry's having is a lapse in his form due to his out feild difficulties, with his dad's problems and his own. Hopefully, this suspension will give him the chance to reflect, and also a long deserving break. Maybe a little R and R will help him mentally as well as physically. Shane 2,275
John will be Chelsea captain next year no question. No matter how bad his form he will always be picked to play. Whether that is wrong or right, it is as simple as that. To ShaneCFC who said he won't start at the World Cup.... What you on about? Of course he is going to start at the World Cup Michael Dawson is a better choice.
ZanSnake 1,211
But when we win the double, Fabio won't have a choice.
BlueLion. 21,491
Sarcasm, right? No. At the minute, I don't think Terry is playing well enough. It pains me to say it, because he is a Chelsea legend, but he isn't cutting the mustard right now.
Steve 10,227
JT has been in the media for all the wrong reasons this year and it has clearly effected him on the pitch but he is still a class defender and i think after his recent sending off he will see he needs to step his game up to get chosen for the world cup. Because the way things have been as of late Capello is most likely not impressed with his actions on and off the field.
Cameron 30
No. At the minute, I don't think Terry is playing well enough. It pains me to say it, because he is a Chelsea legend, but he isn't cutting the mustard right now.No - he didn't play well enough against Tottenham. No one did. He was excellent against Villa, Bolton and United though. So this isn't some consistent type of below par form he's suffering, it's a one off game. Beirut Blues 0
I think players like JT are too important to be dropped.... its not just about performance, but about the commanding personality.. I mean look at Michael Ballack, completely useless and honestly we don't need him...but i would throw away Drogba and Anelka just to keep someone like Ballack in my team, u know why? because his presence on the pitch is like a dagger in the hearts of opponents. JT is also like that. We need a few players that just control players psychologically... Watch in the world cup how John Terry will be the true leader in the team, and Capello knows this. ppl we are lucky to have JT.

Aesthetic Relic 301
http://therepublikofmancunia.com/uniteds-leader-and-legend-puts-chelseas-to-shame/ The guy who owns that site is a complete wanker of the highest order. I've had run ins with him in the past. The last time was just after Lampards mum had passed and he stated "Lampard is just milking his mothers death"...when he pointed to the skies.Thats the sort of cunt this guy is.
