Adam Gilchrist, in his last competitive cricket game, comes on to bowl to Harbhajan Singh and gets him first ball! He then emulates Bhajji's Gangnam Style celebration!

You couldn't write these scripts. Adam Gilchrist, a noble player on the field, goes completely off-character there

Duppy Conqueror, South African user whose name I forget, and others not mentioned.

Us sub-continent folks have been hogging this thread for a while. Now that the embarrassing IPL is nearly over, it's time to get this thread back to it's former glory. Champions Trophy in England in 2 weeks, then the Ashes!

Didn't want to rub it in that we got NZ all out for 68 although as you've made that post, now i will. NZ need 239 to win in just under 2 days and England win by 170 runs. That's pretty bad lol. I love tests like that though, every ball was dangerous and there was nothing boring about any of the days. That's why i prefer ODI's, i don't wanna waste 5 hours in a day watching teams get 250-2 at about 3 RPO, just boring!

Hopefully English conditions can help us in the Champions Trophy. it did to a certain extent last time it was here in 2004 but we lost the final to the West Indies.

I've got tickets to India v. West Indies & one of the semi-finals for the ICC Champions Trophy, not sure if I'll be going tot the semi-finals. I don't fancy India's chances though, with that oaf Fletcher in charge, I don't trust us -_-

Don't see the point of the Champions Trophy. Maybe had they retained the knockout format from earlier (pre 2000), it'd been a worthwhile addition to the international calendar.

A Test Championship is in the works. Now that would be fantastic.

The "Test World Cup" was supposed to take place this year, however scheduling became a bit of a mess so they brought the Trophy back. It's going to be the last time they play it though, I think they'll finally do the Test championship from 2017.

It's going to be interesting how they'll implement though. Talks of an timeless test to be the final.

Nice :) And yeah, this team doesn't look like it'll beat South Africa and Pakistan. Murali Vijay over Cheteshwar Pujara, especially on English pitches was a farce

Imagine a timeless test in a dead batting track lol. Timeless indeed

A Test Match World Cup? A timeless Test? Interesting. Could be fantastic or Boring.

The first time will be fine as long as it's not done on flat batting tracks. But I wonder how long it will take. Maybe months. That won't be good

Loved Brad Hodge's celebration! Amazing how he just gave Sammy a taste of his own medicine.

(Since I've not been posting much lately)

Adam Gilchrist is the greatest all rounder. Took a wicker of every delivery he ever bowled, he was a great batsmen and unlike any other all rounders he was a gr8 keeper too. :P

Instead of taking Vinay Kumar we should have taken Praveen Kumar! He is good for the English swinging conditions.

@Strike, @Ankit, @Madmax,

I was just wondering guys why ru so anti-IPL?

It's not cricket.

I'm not "anit-IPL" per se, I think it's a good exhibition. But it has major draw backs

  • The evidence of corruption is overwhelming
  • It takes so much time to get through and so many games that players return fatigued
  • Represents the decline of proper cricket. Batting technique has gone out the window.
  • The money is ridiculous and just makes the sport seem a bit shit.
  • It's costing India, on the international scene, a lot!

@LDN Blue, has written all the valid points why i don't like IPL. @NishC300,

1. T20 cricket is not cricket. It's a cheap stunt to appease some people who don't even understand the concept of Cricket. I have seen it myself, they come to the stadium because they only want to see batsmen hitting sixes and nothing else.

2. It takes up so much time and players need rest to play some actual cricket. One of the many reasons we got humiliated in England and Australia in the test series.

3. The involvment of bollywood and subsequent destruction of the game. I mean, Chikni Chameli in a cricket ground? Are you kidding me?

4.I didn't like the fact that the selectors of Indian team select players based on their IPL performances. I agree that youngsters get a chance for the national team but most of the matches are won by luck. The fact that it is the shortest format of the game combined with the players' statistics in the IPL, you cannot judge a player.

5. I hate it when money interferes in cricket. There is so much money spent in this tournament while rest of India is still stuck below poverty line. Moreover, cricket is supposed to be 'A Gentleman's Game'. I can count only a few in the league who satisfy that condition. It is obvious that many players play only for money and most of them do not have any passion for the game.
