No offence to Ash but WTF ?

Credit were its due he's a cracking defender, but I wish he would stop going forward until he learns to cross a ball without it going out for a throw in on the opposite side or into the stand behind the goal.

The rest I have no problem with....maybe Mikel getting YPOTY.

Absolutely 100% deserved. He's been different class. Yes, he puts in 1 or 2 dodgy crosses, but so do the best wingers in the world. Frank doesn't get every shot right, JT every tackle, or Petr every save.

The only stupid thing was Ash not being in the top 5 for fans player of the year, and JT and Drogba were. Just shows that people vote for their favourites and not the best players.

Dont get me wrong, I think Ash is a cracking player, but with the importance of having wing backs who bomb up and down the pitch nowadays, I feel its an area of his game which needs a serious amount of work. Thats why I leaned towards Bridge when he was here. He may not have been as good as Ash defending, but the majority of the time he would put in some fantastic crosses. Most teams defend against us so the impetus is on us to attack.

When we do have to defend Ash is right up there with the best in the world. I dont want to turn this into an Ash bashing thread. I just thought I'd share my views.

No arguments with any of the awards to be honest, all fully deserved. With regards to Mikel getting young player of the year, even though he is "young" he is a fully established first team player with bundles of experience and i think the young player of the year should really go to a player comming through or one who has had an exceptional season at youth/reserve level. Mancienne breaking into the first team with half a dozen or so appearances is massive and fully deserving of young player of the year.

Good to see Ash getting an award, he most certainly deserves it. Him and Frank have been top top class from day 1 this season.

Glad Terry got his recognition award, although I would have thought Frank would have been presented with one as well, for surpassing 400 appearances and/or 125 goals.

All deserved but i feel Mikel should have got the young player of the year award,he was a very solid replacement for Essien.
